boniva

Avatar f tn Is boniva a possible cause of papilloma virus on the eyelid going into the conjunctiva? This discussion is related to uveitis of the eye caused by Boniva.
Avatar f tn Bisphosphonates like Boniva have been associated rarely with uveitis. You would experience ocular pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, loss of vision and possibly glaucoma if you had uveitis. Your ophthalmologist would be able to tell you right away if you had any uveitis and the Boniva could be discontinued if that were the case.
Avatar f tn I noted that for the last several months whenever I took Boniva I had significant swelling under both eyes. Thus, when this past Sunday, 5/23 I developed the papilloma on my left lower eyelid (center) which at first seemed to have a point on top & next day became more elongated I thought Boniva. I would appreciate any feedback as to cause & what possible treatment. It, not very large & seems to be same size this first week.
212161 tn?1599427282 does anyone take Boniva and how bad were the side effects
12080135 tn?1453627571 Not really a question, more some good news to share on my latest brain/cervical spine MRI. Compared to the two MRIs in Feb, no new lesions have developed :-) Shows a stable appearance, no gadolinium enhancement (guess that means none active) and in fact some lesions appear less prominent (they had grown, 2 new ones, 7 active last time). Vit D must be helping as won't start Tecfidera until 7th Sept. Whatever it is, I'm feeling in a happy place today.
294425 tn?1288528395 Thanks for the input everybody! Interestingly, I just found this link on osteoporosis and MS: http://ms.about.com/od/livingwellwithms/a/osteoporosis_ms.htm. Doesn't really say anything we didn't already know, but kinda weird it popped up today .... :) I'll ask my neuro, when I see him for the Tysabri next week, if there's a connection with that and the severity of the osteoporosis, but I don't think there is.
Avatar f tn That is good news. I did not know she was even close to being discharged. That is wonderful. Thank God for this. I pray she continues to improve. I hope Rose is remembering to take good care of herself, too. She is probably focusing everything on her mom. I remember when my mom was sick I was not able to eat. Thanks for the up-date.

Avatar f tn The technician looked at my med list and asked if I am taking Boniva and Synthroid. I answered yes. I take other meds other than those two she mentioned. I told her that I understood why she asked about the Boniva but I didn't understand why she asked about Synthroid. She told me that thyroid meds take from the bones and causes osteoporosis. WHAT??? How come no doctor ever told me?
Avatar f tn I developed osteoporosis (only 52) and my gyno-onc had me see an endocrinologist. I now take Boniva- once monthly plus a mult-vit, calcium, and vit-D twice a day. My last scan showed improvement. He wanted me to go on hormone replacement but my gyno-onc would not hear of it.
Avatar f tn extremely swollen right leg especially around knee joint - could not even bend knee, terrible hip pain and two days later a tooth abscess. What are the chances I can tolerate Boniva once a month? My Endocrinologist wants me to try it.
Avatar n tn I have had very little problems with Prolia. I've done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Now, my doctor is sending me to a 'bone' clinic that apparently specializes in bone disorders such as osteoporosis.
220090 tn?1379167187 Showed another small improvement. Latest score 13.9. Last one was 14.1. Dr D thinks I might have fatty liver, so back on the low carb diet. Fibroscan is now FDA approved according to the folks at Mt Sinai. I am very happy to see small improvements. It is now 5 years since SVR, if that terminology is still used, and I have improve fibrosis by one full measure from stage 3 - 4 to. 2 - 3. I am striving for a solid stage 2 and I think with a good diet,, I can archive it.
Avatar n tn She does not have any cramping, but they are watery. This all started when she began to take Boniva several months ago. She stopped taking it 2 months ago. I have suggested that it has not all left her system yet and this may take some time. She has not changed her diet or any meds. She is a creature of habit and eats and does the same things every day. She is 90 yrs old and still very able and mobile.
Avatar m tn But her bone density tests (I think) are fine. One physican gave her Synthroid, another told her to stop. One perscribed Boniva, another said no, cause she is a young lady. Here are her labs. Any comments? Bone Marker Tests: TP1NP: 26.57 (Range: 20.00 to 100.0 ng/ml) Vitamins D: 42.27 (Range: 50.00 to 100.0 nmol/l) Osteocalcin: 19.49 (Range: 11.00 to 43.00 ng/ml) B-CTx: . 265 (Range: ???) Parathormone: 30.02 (Range: 15.00 to 65.00 pg/ml) Calsium 2.
Avatar f tn Hesitation of stopping a drug like Tenefovir is related to fear for a flare. If your HBsAg is cleared to begin with, the flare concern may be much less or nonexistent. Your case is worth being followed because usually acute HBV is not treated with antiviral drugs but is left to the 90% clearing rate by one's own immune system.
