I monitor this site for info on my eye condition. I do not know if the papilloma specifically is related, but Boniva and drugs like it can cause swelling around the eyes as you describe. Just read any website discussing adverse effects of Boniva. I think it worth discussing with your doctor. You should be very aware and cautious of any facial swelling while on Boniva.

I heard yesterday that Boniva would cause eye disorders called uveitis and sleraderma? Does this bone medicine cause eye problems? I have an eye disorder called Fuchs cornea dystrophy and have recently had cataract surgery in both eyes ;however one eye keeps feeling irritated.

It is now diminishing in size and I am hopeful it will vanish but I hesitate to continue on Boniva.

Boniva is perscribed both ways and I have neglected to ask the doctor why she perscribed the daily one. When I asked pharacist about the price (last year) it was $200/mo regardless of whether it was taken daily or monthly. Now that I have a different perscription plan, Endo thinks I should check the price again. It isn't just the price that is making me anxious, it is the fact that I wonder if it is a sure preventative.

Hi, there are newer drugs as stated above, I have a relative who takes a shot once a month, like the Sally Field commercial. I think you have to weigh the risks against benefits. The one risk that scare me was jaw bone problems. But...that was with prolonged use. Good luck.

in order to treat osteo you need to be on fosmax/ boniva or like substances and have hrt. your doctor you should sue.... because he perscribed it while having the knowledge of your bone health knowing it decreases the amount of calcium in your bones.

I am a 34 year old female. Since Aug. 2007, I have been having "strange episodes" of numbness, pins and needles, burning in my muscles, weakness, muscle spasms, and pain that would occur on my left side. I have also experienced blurred vision and fatigue. Recently it has been effecting my right leg also. These episodes would come on, peak, and gradually go away.

I have had very little problems with Prolia. I've done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Hi, thanks Heather. The biophysical yesterday went well. Baby has gained estimated 200 g over 4 days. So that is excellent. She is now just under 6 lbs. She is also very active. She is head down and completely engaged. Haven't had any contractions today so far (touch wood). But still on complete bedrest and IV isoxuprine to stop contractions. Am having menstrual type cramping and back pain, so I think things are probably still going to happen as soon as they stop the drugs.

If so, you may not have an active case. You'll have to do a PCR test to determine that. Also, be sure to find a hepatologist (liver doctor) or at least a GI who specializes in treating HCV. Even if you do have an active case, HCV is a very slow progressing disease and curable.
