I monitor this site for info on my eye condition. I do not know if the papilloma specifically is related, but Boniva and drugs like it can cause swelling around the eyes as you describe. Just read any website discussing adverse effects of Boniva. I think it worth discussing with your doctor. You should be very aware and cautious of any facial swelling while on Boniva.

It took about 6 months to find out what was wrong. I was getting too much thyroid and had to get my dosage changed. I was taking the hormones to help my bones, as I have osteopenia and rheumatoid arthritis. I am on prescription drugs to help the bones (Boniva and calcium and vit. d). I'm worried about breast cancer with continuing the hormones. I had a partial mastectomy on my right breast which was benign. I had a cluster of microcalcifications which looked supicious, but turned out to be benign (big sigh)! Okay now my question.
I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and have noticed that recently I have a lot of pain in my teeth and jaw. This has prompted me to wonder if osteoporosis affects the teeth in general as they are inbedded in bone? And how so?
Hello. I'm sorry, first of all, that your mom is having the sleeping problems. In the end, that affects every day because without a decent sleep, it is hard to function. I liked the honey and milk and that solution as it sounds nice and natural which I wish everything could be to help all of us with medical issues. However........just in case it does not work........I would suggest that first of all, mom has a COMPLETE workup with blood tests, urine tests, etc.
lately i get constant pain up and down my arms and into my shoulders then center of my chest hurts and it feels heavy but not real bad it kinda feels like heart burn. the pain in my arms will only be in one arm at a time. the past 2 days the pain in arm and chest comes and goes..and i've read that in women symptoms are different sometimes than in men..im worried because the pain is becoming more frequent than it has been..
I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.
The technician looked at my med list and asked if I am taking Boniva and Synthroid. I answered yes. I take other meds other than those two she mentioned. I told her that I understood why she asked about the Boniva but I didn't understand why she asked about Synthroid. She told me that thyroid meds take from the bones and causes osteoporosis. WHAT??? How come no doctor ever told me?
also i seem to have multiple clacifications thoughout my body and bone pain lt.wrist and hand especially my knees and legs . my tsh level for the past yr are high and recently vit d deficiant . i take 112mcg of levothyroxine now .what bothers me the most is the bone pain that limits activity and the fatigue i feel at times . in my heart i feel tsh meds have side effects that really need to be addressed !

I was told that it would worsen after the chemo (carbo/taxoterre), and it did. Not terribly, but a decrease in bone mass just that same. I started on Boniva and my cholesterol shot up about 120 points. I just stopped that recently and my numbers dropped by 80 points. Seems there are downsides for everything. Now taking Viactiv with vitamins D & K, 3 chews a day. Will have another bone density next April. I also am fairly physically active and hope that will help.
extremely swollen right leg especially around knee joint - could not even bend knee, terrible hip pain and two days later a tooth abscess. What are the chances I can tolerate Boniva once a month? My Endocrinologist wants me to try it.

I have had very little problems with Prolia. I've done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Now, my doctor is sending me to a 'bone' clinic that apparently specializes in bone disorders such as osteoporosis.
When there is angina due to coronary occlusions, heart cells are being deprived of blood/oxygen and that can slowly reduce the number of good functioning heart cells and eventually heart failure. Heart attack may never happen, but heart failure as heart cells die.
If you are taking medication and that does not relieve chest pain, then you should have interventional treatment...what are the episodes?
She has not changed her diet or any meds. She is a creature of habit and eats and does the same things every day. She is 90 yrs old and still very able and mobile. She is on Lopressor 25mg, Mucinex 600mg, Aspirin 162mg, Aldactone 25mg, Lasix 20mg, OTC multivitamin, OTC calcium 500mg, and OTC iron. Her BP runs consistently in the 130's/70's with her pulse in the mid 60's.
But her bone density tests (I think) are fine. One physican gave her Synthroid, another told her to stop. One perscribed Boniva, another said no, cause she is a young lady. Here are her labs. Any comments?

My heart was racing, heart palpatations, sick to stomach, hot flashes, trembleing, etc. Took a Xanax right away. Thank God for those! I've been under a lot of stress with on & off attacks since Wednesday. I'm explaining all of this just to let you know I understand what you're going through & you are certainly not alone.
