In the event that you had an arbitrary blood glucose test, an ordinary outcome relies upon when you last ate. More often than not, the blood glucose level will be underneath 125 mg/dL (6.

306245 tn?1244384967 can anyone tell me what a normal blood sugar should be in a 7 year old. we had his sugar tested today at ambulance station that was having an open house and they were **** blood sugar test his was 186 he is 1 pound over weight (nothing I am concerned about) and one paramedic seemed concerned and said they thought normal was 100 and another said that no they are the same as an adult up to 200. he didn't fast for this test.
Avatar f tn Normal blood sugar for a child is typically in the range of 70-100, with fasting numbers in the 70s - 80s (lower than for adults). After eating it may increase, but should should not go higher than about 120. Please have this looked at by a dr if you are concerned. A 3 year old shouldn't be tired!
Avatar f tn At any rate, the strange thing (or strange to me) is that my highest sugar numbers actually occurred BEFORE I was put on the steroids rather than after being on them. I know they can and do affect your blood sugar (unfortunatley have had to be on them many times in my life so I'm pretty familiar with their side effects) - but this time it seemed my blood sugars actually became somewhat more regulated while I was on the meds.
Avatar n tn My blood sugar fasting is 88 and post prandial is 107.Am I suffering from diabetes? What can I do to reduce the sugar levels further. Please advise.
Avatar n tn m not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. A normal, healthy blood sugar range is between 80 and 120, so a 96 is likely just fine. You could verify that with a check prior to eating breakfast in the morning, as well as a check 2 hours after a regular meal. Now just because the top end of the range is 120, sometimes healthy people's blood sugars fall outside that range, but it will always go back to normal ranges.
Avatar f tn I had blood drawn today for A1c, should get the results in a couple of days. I am wondering if these numbers are normal, or do I have a problem?
Avatar n tn Hi, Truely normal blood sugar in adults will be close to 83 and will not vary much at all from this point, and definitely under 100 nearly all the time. In children it may be a bit lower, but probably not lower than 70. Fasting levels 99 - 125 are considered prediabetic Fasting levels > 126 are considered diabetic. 2 hours after eating numbers should not be above 120, and numbers above 140 will be considered diabetic.
Avatar n tn Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn Can someone tell me how high your blood sugar should get before you become alarmed or call the doctor? I have not been diagnosed but a few months and my doctor has not told me much of nothing. My sugar keeps going up and down, my doctor won't put me on medicine(the highest its been is 400+, the lowest 60) Thanks for your help!!!
Avatar f tn M 29 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. My fasting blood sugar came as 103, and my doctor has put me on gestational diabetes diet. Avatar f tn I have Type 1 Diabetes and have very high blood sugar ( in the 400-600 range). I take 5 shots of insulin a day but am insulin resistant. Had 4 drinks and got pulled over and got a DWI. I'm wondering if there is any correlation between having a high blood alcohol content and high blood sugar, as high blood sugar turns into alcohol. Anyone know?
Avatar f tn I'm prone to headaches, especially after laying down at night, but I've noticed that I get pretty bad ones after going low in blood sugar. I'm a Type 1 diabetic. Anyone else have this problem and is there a remedy for it?
Avatar n tn However at this range it is also better to start with medications for diabetes to bring down the blood sugar levels. Please consult an endocrinologist for the same. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn We're not physicians, but have a lot of collective experience with diabetes. Please go further than your current doctor for a careful medical workup. Ask for a referral to an endocrinologist for a second opinion right away. While labs vary in what the "normal" range of a1c should be, in the lab work I've done recently your numbers are higher than the normal range.
Avatar f tn So because I threw up during the 3hr glucose test, I have to check my blood sugar levels at home for a week. So just curious what is the normal range? I have to check it when I wake up and 1-2 hrs after every meal.
Avatar f tn Frances. Normal blood sugars are always on the range of 70 - 120. Your sugars are dangerously high. At 480 you should hoi to the er. Your metformin and glipicide are not working. Aft this point you need to be on insulin. This should be basal-bolus type regime with both long and short acting insulin. Go back to your Dr. If you're doctor won't purr you on insulin and manage your diabetes mute aggressively you need a brew Dr.
Avatar m tn accorrding to my doctor when you go along time without knowing your blood sugar is high, your body wil automatically adjust to that and you will feel normal even though its unhealthy. so when you blood sugar drops to what would be a good or "healthy" range to be in your body thinks it doesn't have enough sugar. I would definatly see a doctor asap. they will probablly put you on some kind of medicine such metformin and some kind of diet.
Avatar f tn I agree with what super Sally wrote. Best option is to eat a low carb, moderate protein with balance of calories from fats, like olive oil, nuts, grass fed butter, etc. not sure beans and lentils are good for you, as this causes increase in sugar in blood from high carb content. Also don't be afraid to eat fats.
Avatar n tn Hypoglycemia (Low Blood sugar) is a form of Diabetes. The other Form is Hyperglycemia (High Blood sugar). So yes you are Diabetic.
Avatar m tn Hi Kumarqwp, that does seem strange. Here is an article from MedHelp.org about blood sugar, exercise and diabetes; typically your sugars are more in danger of going down with exercise than going up. Hopefully SuperSally88 our CL will come along; she is an avid exerciser and may have advice for you! http://www.medhelp.
