blood-sugar

Avatar f tn No, unfortunately, they are elevated blood sugars.
Avatar m tn There is a lot of noise on the internet regarding what are the 'Normal Numbers'. I believe oficial ADA numbers are < 100 for fasting, <140 1hr after meal and <120 two or more hours after meal. But then many articles say 'True Normal Numbers' are < 83 fasting and always < 100. What do they mean by 'True Normal Numbers'? Also are these averages or absolute maximums?
Avatar f tn I am a type II diabetic and I would like to know what is considered a "good" blood sugar reading for me when I test at different times of the day....before meals, after meals, fasting in the morning, at bedtime and other random times during the day.

When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137. Avatar n tn Is 130 high for blood sugar?
Avatar n tn what is the number of blood sugar in the morning afternoon and evening between meals and how many hours after food, thanks
Avatar n tn i just started exercising regularly, after im done,i get very cold and weak,so today i checked my blood sugar level and it was a 64, after i ate it went back to normal, is that ok or is something wrong
Avatar n tn Are there any chart available for conversion of sugar numbers from mg dl to mmol?
Avatar m tn Hello, so your fasting blood sugar was 128! This is already high enough to qualify as diabetes if the number were seen again on another fasting result. I don't think your test is wrong (though it could be affected by your previous day's diet), and in any case it is far higher than it should be (Normal fasting is in the low 80s, with acceptable level being < 95). 128 is far higher than acceptable level.
Avatar n tn Most doctors will not just take your word for it, but will need to see what the numbers actually are, so this is why i suggest you making these notes for a week or two before you see your doctor. Then, when you see your doctor, ask him or her if it is appropriate to start adding insulin to your regimen.
Avatar f tn half year post liver transplant, my question now is about his bood sugar, we are trying to monitor it , we have the kit and test sugar before and after meal, but there was time that in just a minute sugar rises and and sometimes went very low. is this normal for or the kit have a problem?
1058898 tn?1275675151 If that is what they did and your numbers went lower rather than higher that is showing you have reactive hypoglycemia which means when you eat a lot of carbs your body pumps out insulin excessively and you go low. The solution to this, if that is what you have is to limit carb intake, the same as for diabetes or pre-diabetes. My advice? Ask exactly what you are being diagnosed with. Work on lowering carbs, exercise and losing weight if you are overweight.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar f tn Then go bcc what your dietician told you not what random.people say. 87 is normal rage regardless of gestational diabetes. I don't see a problem with it.
Avatar f tn To answer your question, non-diabetics it would be very rare to exceed 120 at any time, no matter what they eat. Exercise is tricky, sometimes it lowers sometimes it raises blood sugar; you would have to talk to someone who knows about it to know which kinds of exercise at which times have what effect. In your situation I would begin to make some changes such as losing any extra weight you carry, stopping sugar and reducing carbs some if you eat a high carb diet.
Avatar f tn Frances. Normal blood sugars are always on the range of 70 - 120. Your sugars are dangerously high. At 480 you should hoi to the er. Your metformin and glipicide are not working. Aft this point you need to be on insulin. This should be basal-bolus type regime with both long and short acting insulin. Go back to your Dr. If you're doctor won't purr you on insulin and manage your diabetes mute aggressively you need a brew Dr.
Avatar n tn Today about 20 minutes after my lunch I started sweating, feeling weak, heart racing, etc. I checked my blood sugar and it was 71 after eating a chicken salad, salad. I checked it before eating and it was 77 so why would it go down after eating a salad and a few wheat crackers? 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
1448460 tn?1284694467 Prednisone does tend to raise your blood sugar and you should do what you can to keep it down as much as possible. You did not mention if you are on insulin or pills or just diet control. Considering you are only taking prednisone for a very short time, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. If your blood sugar is at that level for a longer period of time that may bring about some damage. Exercise more, if possible, definitely drink lots more water and really watch your diet.
Avatar n tn I just found out that I'm pregnant, and my blood sugar is literally all over the place. One hour it will be 140, and the next hour it will be 240. I have another week until my endocrinologist appointment, and I am VERY NERVOUS. PLEASE HELP!? What can I do to keep it down until my Dr appointments? I'm limiting my carbs, and excercising. What else can i do?
Avatar n tn s husband did a comparison test and his number was normal at 86 would seem to indicate that the machine is NOT giving false numbers. Her blood sugar probably really IS that high, and this is extremely dangerous -- could be life-threatening. It really is imperative that she have a true lab test done to see if there really is a blood sugar problem. She could do a glucose test in the lab to compare the number with the number that the lab gets if she thinks that her machine is in error.
452066 tn?1400626877 I really have no idea if there can be a connection but if you want to check glucose levels you should do fasting and two hours after a meal. Normal fasting should be under a 100 (diabetic is over 126). Normal postprandial would be under 120. Just an off the cuff question about your arrythmia after meals. Do you also have symptoms of acid reflux?
