Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!

Anyhow, as a reminder, I'm also using a Far Infrared Sauna and have been using that along with my Rife machine but more frequently (ususally at least 4 days a week). I'm not sure what is working, but I am feeling actually VERY good!!!

Again I recovered somewhat from antibiotics, particulary doxy. I am left with severe stiffness, pain twitching, muscle weakness, paresthesias, joint pain. I have had MS ruled out multiple times. My question is do you think it is possible this is mycoplasma and not chronic lyme? And if so exactly what test should I ask my doctor for to test for mycoplasma? My IgM Lyme test through Igenex showed 30+, 39, 41 IND. Thank you for your time and expertise.

I've been having abdominal pain for a bit over two months. Last week I was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer and am taking Amoxicillin, Biaxin and Prevacid. I am one week into treatment and feel only marginally better. My question is about stomach tenderness. Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. When touched it produces like a burning/stinging/bruised feeling.

they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

It was paired with Biaxin. My doc explained that it made cells more alkaline which made the Biaxin more effective at penetrating cells to get at the Lyme or Bartonella inside. He said it could make Biaxin up to 40% more effective. He did warn me about the potential vision issue but that it was very rare. He said I'd need regular eye exams while on it, about every few months.

It was right at a time when I was getting stressed but I was having a hard time sleeping for the days following the biaxin. I was sure it was mainly stress but I would make up prematurely with stomach pain.. none of your other symptoms though that you first mentioned.

He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?

My youngest sister and father have joint and muscle pain, much less than mine. We all have Basilar migraines and dry skin as well. They do not have all of the same symtoms as me, but I'm wondering if there maybe a connection. ?? Its very interesting! I'm gonna have to save up to try at the lyme doctor again. I really did like her approach on the entire thing.

I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

I was on Plaquenil for about 6 months, but it was because I was diagnosed with seronegative RA. It did actually relieve a little of my joint pain, but I still had other numerous problems, blurred vision, migraines, IBS, pins and needles, and chronic fatigue. Then an LLMD diagnosed me via IGENIX and CD 57 test and I have Lymes. So I can't really say the medicine gave me those problems because LYMES does too.

My biggest concern too! But, no pain involved at all. Just discomfort/ pressure . Almost feels like bloating or gas. It's not that dis colored,but I've noticed it.

I received a Rocephin and Decadron injection and was placed on Biaxin for 10days. I still have a low grade temp (not less than 99.4) and also have joint pain and night sweats. I went to my gynecologist for my yearly checkup and told him all this and he drew another CBC. He mentioned a systemic infection as well as possible lymphoma or leukemia. About 2 months ago, I came to the ER with abdominal pain and fullness, nausea and vomiting.

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

severe upper back pain that pulled through chest and made taking a good breath unbearable; currently: nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain. It's like the entire awfulness is very slowly moving south. Crazy, right?! Anywho, I thought I'd give you guys an update and give this alkaline diet a good shot. Wish me luck! Also, I am starting A-Bart this week and heard the herxing from it gets pretty awful, so I'll probably be needing some support through that as well:(.

- HIV at 7 weeks, 15 weeks and 9 months - STD test for Clymidia and gonnerea at about 8 months after (this was a urine test) I was concerned cause I peed about 1 hour before testing Since these exposure I have been on Biaxin for 10 days at 500mg twice a day, Amoxicillian 500mg 3 times a day ( I have been on this twice as I have a saliva gland issue for a number of years. I was also on Cipro 500 twice a day (I think) for a sinus infection. All test were negative.

My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down. I'm afraid to take my next dose of prednisone but I've been on short bursts before with no issue. Is a resting heart rate around 90 something to be worried about?

Also should add, treated with Cipro 500mg for 10 days and Biaxin 500mg for 21 days for sinus infection, during the time frame of possible std infection....would this cause a delay or would it actually cure the std infection, if there was one to begin with?

ve been taking the medicine for at least 10 or 11 days at 1000 milgrams of each both biaxin and flagyl daily..and should have stop taking them along time ago ..is this common?

I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.
