I had 2 women perform oral sex on me and about 2-3 months later I had a chest cold and my doctor gave me biaxin 2x500mg a day for 10 days. then a few months later had amoxicillian 3x500mg a day for 10 days for another unrelated infection (my docs loves to give antibiotics) If I did get a std like gonnerea or clymidia or anything else that is bacterial would the biaxin get rid of it?...keep in mind I have had no unprotested sexual intercourse just received oral from a women.

I went to the doctor and he prescribed 20 mg predisone for 15 day treatment, and 500 mg of Biaxin antiobiotic , the Biaxin caused a little stomach upset, plus raised blood pressure and faster heartbeats, so today i split the Biaxin in half and will only tale that once a day, instead of 500 mg twice a day. I still have raised blood pressure today , I guess the prednisone also raises the blood pressure. Do you thinj it is a good idea to take both items, or should I only take the prednisone.

I have been taking Biaxin for 5 days and have experienced the worst side effects i have ever had in my life! they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. decided to quit taking it on a monday felt fine all week untill sun when i went into serious withdrawl! so as far as half life im not sure? but you can bet i was back on it mon! so i guess it was in my system for 6 days after i stopped. p.s.

Saw my LLMD in San Francisco on Friday and he said that my Erlichoisis is cleared but wants me to stay on my meds (Ketek & Cipro) for another 30 days. My testing for lyme is still coming up positive and there were more positive bands and stronger ones than my last test three months ago. He said that the meds I'm currently are on do not treat lyme. After this course of meds, I am switching to Amox & Biaxin to begin treating the lyme. My CD57 shot up from like 20 to 87 though!

I was taking Biaxin 500mg twice a day for a week and then took the rpr two days later. could this affect the results in any way?

I feel so much worse with this medication I've been on (Biaxin and Mepron).. And nearly every medication that I've been on so far.. I'm only hoping that means the medication is working.. I just can not help but think that they are doing more harm than good.. I just feel like I'm poisoning myself with these medications.. Anyone else?? How am I really suppose to know? I don't like to pester the doctor unless it's more of emergency...

My son played racquetball with my husband last night and for the first time did not have to stop to recover his breathing. We are feeling very hopeful that this may be the cure we have looked for. My doc perscribed Biaxin xl 2x 500 and prednisone 50mg 4 days if needed. Last night I was so bad I took the pred at 8pm. This morning I took the biaxin at 6am. It's been about 8 hours and my heart has sped up from about 70 to 85-90 for about an hour and won't come down.
