Benicar hct package insert

Common Questions and Answers about Benicar hct package insert

benicar

1260320 tn?1270394906 I'm on Benicar HCT, have been for many years. Benicar is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!
Avatar n tn If you read the less than 1% or so of patients taking medicines...from the package insert occasionally in the medication container) there are cardiac side effects. Your dose is a low one but the PVCs (if it is PVCs) need to be checked out by a physician. Maybe he could try another med and see if they go away! Keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I am going in for gallbladder removal in 4 days and no one has told me to stop taking Benicar HCT beforehand. I'm on a 20/12.5 dose once daily, so it's pretty low, but won't it possibly cause problems with the anaesthesia/barbituates or if they have to give me morphine afterwards (not likely, but possible)?
Avatar n tn My dr put me on Benicar 20mg and Toprol XL 25mg to lower my blood pressure. I have a fast pulse too (always over 100). Will these meds lower my pulse also?
Avatar f tn The chest pain has returned and the diastolic pressure is 53.I am currently on benicar hct 40/25 and my bp has been 126/53. Should I stop taking the benicar? Not sure what to make of the chest pain.I am a 48 yr. old female other wise in good health.
478554 tn?1208034407 You are correct, Benicar is an expensive drug, I am on 40 mg per day with 12.5 of HCT (Benicar HCT). Since there is no generic, my insurance also tries to block it's use, but they have to give it to you if your doctor provides the additional documentation, but it won't help the price. TGL's are easy to control, usually cutting back on empty carbs like those found in breads, pastas, sugars and processed foods will have a huge impact.
13495566 tn?1431029924 Does anybody have the package insert that comes with HARVONI- section 8.7 -says not proven to help cirrhosis. That is one of my denial reasons--I don't know if it says that. Trying to find out.
Avatar f tn I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.
159619 tn?1707018272 Just curious, I was started on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 about 3 or 4 years ago at a time when I was at my peak weight, well over 300 pounds, not taking very good care of myself and not exercising. My blood pressure was running around 140/85 at the time. I underwent some cardiac work ups due to some chest pain over that time period including a couple of Nuclear Stress Tests and Echos along with all the blood work that is usually done, all tests were always normal.
Avatar n tn Stopped taking Dyazide a few days ago, headache eased the next day, and was gone by the 2nd day without meds. She started taking Benicar HCT a over a year ago. From the start she felt rotten every day. Said she felt like she had to "make my legs" walk - always felt tired. Also had soreness in between her shoulder blades. Dr. said it was muscle soreness from exercise. She stopped taking Benicar HCT a month ago and felt great the following day.
Avatar m tn Teh meds I am taking is Benicar HCT 20mg, take them daily. I am the nervous type, and think I am starting to suffer from anxiety, because during a stressful period I developed skin burning sensation in my upper back that still to this day I feel sometimes. Hope this info helps you a bit more.
Avatar n tn t think your BP meds would do this. I too had HP, around 150/90 and started taking Benicar HCt 40/12.5, pretty much the same med you are on. My BP now runs 110/70, in fact it dropped almost immediately upon starting the meds with no side effects. Your BP has dropped considerably, but at 130 systolic you are still in the pre-hypertensive range and not yet down to a normal rate of 120/80 so I would not think your BP is doing this to you.
Avatar f tn Although I am not cynical when it comes to the medical profession, I know there are drugs of preference from doctor to doctor. I was on Benicar HCT for 4 years before moving and finding a new doctor. One of the first things he did was pull me off Benicar and put me on Lisinopril, a beta blocker. I had a terrible reaction to this drug, I couldn't workout and my heart rate stayed at 50 - 55 BPM.
Avatar m tn pressure was a little high 150/90 so increased bp medicine to benicar 40mgs with hct of 12.5. pressure came down to 115/75 - thought it was reaction to medicine - stopped it for a week - and symptoms stayed. thought it was stress - started exercising 30 minutes a day - running - some help but symptoms come back - at times when look down get dizzy or lie in bed. have been playing alot of golf and swinging differently - but no back pain - some neck stiffness from new swing.
1145751 tn?1262133453 Ok so I got these Prometrium capsules and it states on the package insert that these capsules are oral capsule. My OB's direction is to insert it vaginally as a suppository. Im concerned because the capsules outside gel is pretty thick. I just dont want to keep shoving these things in me and it not dissolve. Has anyone used oral capsules as suppository?
Avatar n tn I am on Benicar HCT for my blood pressure and my doctor has told me to take it twice a day on occasion. If you are concerned or feeling light headed or weak you should call you doctor's after hours service to see if they have any input. Good luck!
Avatar f tn All medications come with something called a 'package insert' which has labeling that includes any risks. Did you tell your doctor that you are expecting? I would just call the office to be safe and tell them you are pregnant and want to know if the antibiotic prescribed for you is safe during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I do have the insert at home. It said if there were NO lines it was inconclusive, but nothing about a line in the circle and nothing in the oval. The way it reads, for it to be positive, there should be a line in each opening. I will be taking another one tonight, hoping it is more conclusive. thanx!
Avatar f tn My ef is 35% and I take coreg 3.125 mg 2 x a day, benicar 10 mg daily, hct 25 mg daily and lexapro 20 mg daily.
Avatar n tn Cardiobill, Thank you! I appreciate you responding to my post. You have definately answered some dire questions that I have been agonizing over. I do have another question about getting a second opinion. My doctor showed me the images from the CT scan and I could clearly see the aorta was larger then the other one. Would a second opinion be a waste of time? Thanks again.
Avatar f tn Yes, I read the insert. So your saying that its accurate rite?
Avatar n tn They all come with a patient package insert that explains it. If your pack no longer has that insert, you can ask your pharmacist. Most require you to use them for 7 days before considering yourself safely protected.
Avatar m tn These are not listed on the package insert, but I note from Dailymed.com Viread did cause fever in clinical trials (i.e., Truvada is a combo of Viread and Emtriva).
