Avatar f tn org/posts/Dermatology/Ive-tried-Lotrimin-AF-and-Ketoconazole---Is-this-really-ringworm/show/1224562?personal_page_id=1360499#post_5599176 ) Since then, I suspected another ringworm infection on my left thumb and began applying Lotrimin on that 2x a day. Then I saw a dermatologist who checked the scrapings of my lesion, which came out as negative. However, it could have been false-negative since I was already using the Ketoconazole, so he is almost positive that it's still ringworm.
Avatar m tn ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
Avatar n tn Initially I thought they were spider bites and then ringworm later on. I went to the doctor a week ago, and she seemed to think they were bacterial and gave me a prescription for Augmentin and Bactroban ointment. They have slowly started to look better, but today I noticed they had a bulleyes appearance. Do you think this could be Lyme disease?
Avatar f tn I therefore put more Bactroban on. Probably as I put too much dosage on my face, I felt the skin on my face was pickled and I can see some wrinkles on my face. 4-5 days later, ances disappeared. However, I feel my skin is not as healthy as before since that. In the past, as I have dry skin, I have no ances on my face. But right now, even though I still have dry skin, I can always find out some little ances wounded by the shaver, sometimes they are serious, sometimes not.
Avatar m tn Im 25 yrs old and I've noticed small dry flaky ringworm looking bumps on my penis and testicles and also on my body such as chest and arms as well, but more so on my testicles. They don't itch or bother me but i'm just concerned, and I would say I'd noticed them about maybe a week ago. Pls Help!
616582 tn?1225068601 Bactroban is actually mupirocin not an ointment of Bactrim. So it is a different antibiotic. If you were allergic to Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprin) I would think you would react to it all over your body if it is a pill form. A lot of people are allergic to the sulfa drug in the Bacterim. Did you have a pill or ointment? The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest.
Avatar f tn About a month ago, I ended up catching ringworm from 2 new kittens my husband and I took in during Christmas. Each of us have about 20 spots each. My Husband got all of his at once, I "Broke out" for 3 weeks. While they are going down with OTC creams and Natural Remedies (Apple Cider Vinegar + Tea tree oil) I ended up going on Terbinafine because it seems like these things are at a standstill. So I have a few questions: ***Skin that isn't even affected by ringworm is VERY ITCHY.
Avatar n tn I get the same so called folliculitis on my neck and it *****! I apply bactroban on the infected area once or twice a week and it solves the issue every time. Have him see a dermatologist and ask for bactroban or munipriocinit will save his life!!
Avatar m tn I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.
1666982 tn?1445198395 How often do you apply bactroban? And do you also apply it into your nostrils? I also have the same problem.
Avatar n tn Please help me out, I am very much worried. I have these blisters growing on the skin of my testes which never open up neither fade away but have no pain. But I experience terrible Itching on the skin of my testes, specially at the night time because of which I cannot have a good nights sleep. I have this for a year now and haven't been to a doctor till now. The blisters never open up and does not emit anything either. Sometimes they become small and sometimes they grow a bit bigger.
Avatar f tn It is called tinea cruris and tinea capitis. When ringworm infects the area between the toes, it is called tinea capitis. When it affects the pubic region it is called tinea cruris. When it affects the scalp, it is called tinea capitis. It is all the same. Only, the ringworm that infects the scalp lives inside the hair shafts and can't be treated topically. For the feet and pubic region, the best product is topical Lamisil.
656503 tn?1256832023 s not real possible even if the kitten showed symptoms of ringworm, unless your boyfriend was in very close contact, like sleeping with it every night and cuddling a lot. Even then it would most likely show up on his body near where the kitten was, it wouldn't show up on his feet! However, if the kitten shows no sign (scratching, scabs, missing fur), then it doesn't have ringworm and there is not chance of passing it on.
Avatar f tn One of the consumers I was working with had ringworm, I was very careful, and used gloves when working closely with him. About a week later, I saw one little circular patch on my right shin, and started to get worried that I was going to get the ringworm. I went right to my dr. She checked it out and said that it was not ringworm.... My question is,, has anyone had different types of rashes or odd shaped patches on their skin that looks circular without the bulls eye type look?
Avatar n tn razors, electric little machines, waxes, lotions,...you name it. I cannot afford laser removal, so I am still dealing with the hair. If I shave, it grows back on the same day! If I remove it with the electric machine or wax...it doesn't last more than 2 or 3 days, and I get ingrown hairs...really deep inside the skin. I have ugly, horrible scars in my legs from trying to pull ingrown hairs out. I am desperate.
Avatar f tn Since then, the area around the burn seems very faintly pink (when I had the cellulitis it was red) and still warm and tender to the touch, and also that I am experiencing alot of numbness and tingling and a burning sensation on my left leg, both arms, and my face. I am still shaking and my pulse is still rapid and my heart is fluttery.
Avatar m tn Hello, You may be suffering from Tinea Capitis or Ringworm (fungal infection) of the scalp. Ringworm is a fungal skin infection that occurs on the face, body or scalp. The symptoms of Ringworm or Tinea Capitis include a dry itchy scalp, scaling, crusting, inflamed nodules, hair loss and tender enlarged lymph nodes on the neck. Because of the scratching that is involved with the condition it can become secondarily infected with a bacterial infection.
Avatar f tn I think I have ringworm on my hands, (I have ringworm on my stomach and thighs), how do I treat it and keep it from spreading to others? I've been putting an ointment to try to treat it and then placing gloves on my hands so I don't infect everything I touch, but it makes my hands sweat which I think is making it worse :( Any help, tips and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm losing my mind with this issue!!
Avatar n tn Disinfect the trouble spots. Ringworm fungi love to collect in tubs, on bathroom floors and in hampers and dresser drawers. Dr. Whitmore recommends that you destroy these breeding grounds by regularly cleaning them with chlorine bleach. Hope that helps! Good Luck!
Avatar f tn I have had this thing on my face for about a year now that comes up in small blisters and then crusts over and peels off. It is located on my cheek and I recently had a test for cold sores and it came back negative, but I put cold sore cream by chemists own (aciclovir 5%) on it and that seems to work. What is it?? I remember placing Bactroban on it which seemed to speed up the healing process, could this cold sore cream help a bacterial infection or could bactroban help a cold sore?
Avatar f tn Hello, Use Bactroban once or twice a day. Also apply warm compresses and topical antiseptics. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar f tn It's probably ringworm (the scabs are an indicator or ringworm, not mange. But they are often cross diagnosed). I would suggest starting by picking up an over the counter athlete's foot cream like lotrimin (use the cream, work's best with fur). Surprise surprise, it's the same medication for cats or humans. This likely means your cat didn't do the damage. But if it doesn't clear up in a few weeks, I'd suggest taking your cat in to a vet.
Avatar m tn I had ringworm on my back and I thought I cleared it up with cream but discontinued using cream and it came back. Then I got a massage and the ringworm spread to my legs and groin. First showed up in groin with bad symptoms. then I wore compression socks and the ringworm has spread in around the line of the top of the sock. kinda shocking. its been very hard to treat.
Avatar f tn By the next day the ringworm will be gone. My children got ringworm in school and a Fillipino lady cured them this way. In case it isn't ringworm that you have, you might want to try this on just one spot.
