Three weeks ago I went to the doctors and they told me I had acute bronchitis after giving me a chest x-ray and I was given 250mg of azithromycin to take for five days to treat it. The problem is i never took the medicine and now three weeks later i feel worse than ever.
Orginally, I had a dry cough, no fever, no body aches but i did have sharp pain when i took a deep breath but i did have blood streaked sputum.
I am having sore throat and was prescribed azithromycin, i took 250mg of azithromycin on day 1 and in the evening when i read the instructions, it says to take 500mg should i take other 250mg now or take 500mg on day 2?
I went to the doctor about 2 days later when the discharge was yellow for sure, and did a blood test. I was given a single dose of Azithromycin (zithromax) and an injection of 250mg ceftriaxone mixed with 10mg lidocaine in the butt that day for gonorrhea and chlamydia, since it was likely I had one and/or the other. I let the doctor know a week later that my symptoms had not gone away (all the blood work came back negative). So he prescribed a week of doxycycline.
When I first noticed it, I took a 1 gram dose of ZITHROMAX and it did not clear up. Three weeks later I went and saw the doctor and they did a swab test, urine test, and blood test; the results for chlamydia and gonorrhea were negative. They also treated me symptomatically at the time of the above said visit for both mentioned STD’s. I still have a small discharge when I wake up and “milk” it and it appears to be clear and kind of watery.
i had a prescription written today for 1gram per day for 2 days of azithromcin, when i got this filled i was told they only had 250mg tablets and to take 4 per day to equal one gram. is this correct?

I have recently been diagnosed with mild NGU although I am still waiting for my Chlamydia and Gonorrhea results. I have been given one single dose of azithromycin (1 g) . It has been four days now, and when i urinate there is still a burning sensation. I have not had any discharge at all. Before (Hours before) I have the burning feeling when I urinate, I also have a feeling of pressure/pain at my pelvis.

I contracted genital gonorrhea through unprotected oral sex with a partner and took a course of doxycycline (100mg twice per day for seven days). I received a injection in the buttock yesterday (though I'm not sure what antibiotic this was) and was also given a further course of the antibiotic azithromycin.
I was just going to say that I am pregnant and am allergic to more than one antibiotic and zithromax or azithromycin ( the generic) is what they give me instead. It is an erythromycin based antibiotic which is like they said before category B and as safe as you get in medicines. Nothing is rated A. I work in a pharmacy. Relax!

they told me in the hospital that they wont give me anymore antibiotics.and that i need to wait for a while so as to observe my progress. that i should not milk or constant check to see if i am having a discharge. etc. this was at the same GUM cos i requested that i be refered to urologist.
Five days of doxycycline would probably have cured the infection and 1.5g of azithromycin of 50% more azithromycin than is required for chlamydial therapy. Wither way you would be cured.

They perscribed a single dose of 500mg Cipro and 4 250mg (1000mg) of Azithromycin (I could be spelling that wrong). I took the Cipro yesterday around 5pm and the Azithromycin around 2am and I haven't noticed any improvement. If anything, I've noticed an INCREASE in discharge and pain when I urinate. They sent samples off to the lab but it won't be back for a few days.
From what I've been reading, most people notice an improvement in symptoms in about 24 hours.
I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
I was with someone exposed to both. I am taking one dose of 1.5g of zithromax to stop or cure myself from catcing of having either one. Will this work and or do the job?
- earlier testing might show false positive for chlamydia as the recommended re-test period is 3 weeks after treatment, and false negative for the other two infections as they seem to have a longer incubation period (or could have been treated by zithromax but not completely)
- i took the medication the wrong way, one 250mg then the remaining 750mg after five hours. Peak plasma binding for azithromicine seems to be two hours.
This wouldnt be the correct dosage? Is there a difference between azithromycin 250mg and 500mg, even if they are added up to the same exact dosage? Would 1000mg of azithromycin (from a zpack) cure chlamydia is my question.
