A couple of months ago, I was diagnosed with Chlamydia. I took the Azithromycin that I was given, and went back for another check a couple of weeks later, because I was still getting symptoms. The second set of swabs showed that I still had Chlamydia, and was this time given a 7 day course of Doxycycline to take. About 2 weeks after this, I was hospitalised for severe abdominal pain, leaving me curled up in a ball on the ground wailing.

Apparently there are no reported FDEs due to azithromycin. However, other drugs in the same class, such as erythromycin and clarithromycin, can cause FDE, so for sure azithro could do it. However, it's apparently rare. If your doctor and/or a dermatologist agrees FDE is a good bet, perhaps s/he will want to consider writing up a case report for submission to a medical journal.

I just received my chlamydia treatment in the form of 4 tablets to be taken in one dose of Azithromycin. I starting menstruating today and I didnt know if there would be any reason this would affect the effectiveness of the drug. Also my partner was just treated yesterday...How long before we can resume having sex?

The dr. is having me take azithromycin starting today for one week off one week on. I am a little nervous to take this while I am in the 2 week wait. Also, if I am pregnant it makes me more nervous. She gave it to me because when I was pregnant around 6 months ago I got 2 uti's. I ended up losing the pregnancy, but to this day they don't know why because everything was going so great. She wants me to avoid the uti's by taking this medicine.

1) is it possible that the antibiotics not being finished before (first dose of azithromycin for strep I never had being same drug used to treat, doxy not finished due to false negative) created a resistance to azithromycin? 2A) or I also got a yeast infection from the plethora of antibiotics in an 8 day time span? B) if so is it useful to get OTC monistat while on my period if it's light?

After discovering greenish discharge in my underwear in the morning, I went to my doctor who prescribed me the usual course of 1 g of Azithromycin and 1 400 mg of Cefixime for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Hi, welcome to the forum, your history is suggestive of that you are having drug allergy to azithromycin. Some patients have reported to have itching (in about 10%) and development of rash. If drug allergy is suspected you need to report your doctor immediately. Further exposure to drug may generate more IgE levels and can worsen the condition. Itching is a milder form of allergic manifestation. Even drug allergy can lead to hives including life threatening reactions.

when taking azithromycin for Chlamydia or Gonnorhea, how long does it typically take symptoms to subside? i know often times with taking this drug or a similar one for something like a sore throat the symptoms may go away almost over night. is this the case in this situation as well? thanks a lot!

I was diagnosed with a prostate infection and im taking Bactrim for it, but I think its more urethritis and I know they prescribe azithromycin for that...

So I had chlamydia about a month ago, approximately, and my tonsils were very swollen, so when I got treated for the chlamydia they prescribed me azithromycin, so I took the medication and within a week my symptoms were going away one by one by my tonsils still are very swollen to this day and they don't seem to be going down, ive always had generally large tonsils but never this large. My tonsils have these little holes in them and sometimes the holes with have puss in them.

I should also note i'm not sexually active.

The quick test they do come back that I tested positive for a NSU and the doctors gave me some Azithromycin. I have now come out in a rash on my hands and over my body which looks like little white flat blisters under my skill. I have been googling and under the Seroconversion illness I have found exactly what the rash looks like! I am now so scared after taking some comfort that I had passed the original 2-4 week window.

All 3 meds mentioned are class C drugs, which means none have been tested on pregnant women, but have shown to cause defomities or problems in laboratory animals. I would strongly think twice about getting pregnant while being on all of these meds. Ask yourself if the benefits out weigh the risks.

Doctor, I had a discharge from my penis 2 days and received a shot of rocephin in the butt. I still have a discharge, though I think it may be a bit less. Should I be concerned that the drug didn't work? I wasn't sore after the shot so is it possible the needle didn't go deep enough? Thanks for your help.

t want to take the Clindamycin because it made me so ill, he prescribed Cephalexin. Does anybody know anything about this drug? I looked it up and it said it is similar to penicillen. Will it work since the penicillen didn't? Sorry to sound so paranoid, but my dentist is not very easy to talk to about this and I am so scared. I hate when people/doctors think you're exaggerating. Believe me, I want to find a drug that will take care of this! Then maybe the pain will go away!

I just called in for my urine results and it's chlomydia. i did websearches and ppl say a few days :s maybe i was squeezing too much heh...
