I have found that biaxin is chemically different than azithromycin but biologically same at killing bacteria as azithromycin. On some post you say that azithromycin or clarithromycin(biaxin) would cure all the bacterial stds then in others you state that there could be some problems.

Directly to your questions:
1) Both azithromycin and penicillin are 100% effective in curing incubating syphilis.
I was diagnosed with Chlamydia about a week ago. They gave me Azithromycin, 4 tablets at 250mg to take all at once. I took them and have severe stomach cramping and nausea, and ended up getting sick about 45 to an hour after taking the last pill... hoping that I would have already digested it before I got sick. The stomach pain lasted the rest of the day. It's been about 3 days now since I have taken it, but I still have that "burning" sensation after I urinate.
Tested positive for Chlamydia and Bacterial Vaginosis. Doctor immediately put me on Metronidazole and single dose of Azithromycin. Before I started the treatments, there was white discharge and fishy odor but no urge to constantly pee even after I had just emptied my bladder. After treatments, the discharge and odor has gone away but I now have a constant urge to pee and when I go to pee it’s very little and there is very slight burning.
I've had bv multiple times and I've had it with this pregnacy as well as my first you will be perfectly okay to wait until you get paid.. I would definitely wait to treat it until you have them confirm thats what it is.. only causes concern when left untreated for long periods of time:) for now I'd try to use unscented soaps and only wash with water... seems off since bv causes a smell but I was told and have found that soap can cause your ph levels to go wacky and that can cause bv.
I was diagnosed with a prostate infection and im taking Bactrim for it, but I think its more urethritis and I know they prescribe azithromycin for that...
im 8 weeks pregnant and was giving a perscription for azithromycin for a bacterial infection is this harmful to my baby? when i take it each day i get really sick and tired what shouuld i do to make sure me and the baby are both healthy?

I’ve read about Ureaplasma online and it seems like there is unclarity on how someone can get it and also on the treatment and bacterial resistance. It seems like some doctors have suggested Doxycycline and others suggested Azithromycin as first treatment.
Can you please answer these questions?
1. Should Doxycycline be the first treatment to try for 1 week, or Azithromycin should be tried first, or both should be tried one after other before the next test?

I suspect you have a few capsules of amoxillan around and taking a "few" is the absolute positive worst course of action to take. You will end up (if the infection is bacterial) with an infection resistant to antibiotics. See a physician for a proper prescription and antibiotic. Many physician choose zithromax (the Z-pak) as the broad-spectrum antibiotic of choice for a lung infection.
I was wondering if one of the experts would know if 1.5 Grams of Azithromycin taken in a single dose, 12 hours after unprotected oral would most likely take care of incubating Chlamydia, Syphilis, or Gonorrhea (of any other incubating bacterial infection).
A week after the event, I was diagnosed with NSU after a urethral swab showed pus cells. I was prescribed a single dose of Azithromycin. My urine tests, which were taken at the time showed no evidence of infection. I have since developed lots of symptoms which tie in with Reactive Arthritis: Painful joints esp ankles and wrists, burning on urination, painful eyes, lower back pain at night.
My question is...
I just finished taking Azithromycin yesterday for what must of been a bacterial infection of my sinuses and lungs. It started as a cold. The cold went away but I was experiencing shortness of breath and post nasal drip that just wasn't subsiding. I went to two doctors. The first doctor prescribed a corticosteroid nasal spray (Omnaris). This helped a bit for the post nasal drip but wasn't addressing the shortness of breath or chronic cough that wasn't going away on its own.
I had pelvic pain same when you have period cramps. Inflamed vulva and cervix. The doctor suspected bacterial infection and gave me antibiotics "doxycycline" twice a day for one week and clindamycin once a day for a week. Also gave me an antiseptic feminine wash. The lab tests she ordered are gram staining and pap smear. I took the antibiotics while waiting foe the lab results and my next appointment to the doctor. The gram staining showed Negative for Trichomoniasis and Monilia.
I was givin azithromycin by my regular doctor. She said its a sex bacteria. Makes no damn sense to me. Im frustrated! Whats this medicine for!!
My doctor gave me 1.5g Azithromycin for 3 days.Is it possible to test bacterial STD from my blood sample?

Fortunately, when I had encounter I was on azithromycin for my sinus problem since last 5-6 days (1gm a day). I don’t know whether it protected me form transmitting any disease from that girl or not. Below prescriptions I followed from doctor, as meatus not turning pink and pain, irritation still exists, sometimes itching in anus too.
Dec’2013.: from 31st Dec- to Jan 6th – majorly on Augmentin (2g per day)
Jan 7th : had single dose – azithromycin + IV Ceftriaxone.
It was dark and did not notice any lesions on his penis, but am extremely worried of having contracted some STDs. I took 2 g of Azithromycin this morning. Can anyone please tell me what are my risks of having contracted HIV, or any type of STD and should you recommend any testing, how long should i wait before taking the tests?
i usually have acute episodes of infection which is indicated by yellowish sputumn and is cured by antibiotic therapy...usually Azithromycin or combined with cifixime.........i've shown to many doctors including my professors but they all come up with different diagnosis..........i had urticaria from my 4th grade to 9th grade and also am allegic to variety of substances including food,dust etc.....now i,ve developed chronic congestion in my anterion wall oh oropharynx.........
2 days after got clear discharge after urination, once by its self. Returned to clinic did two more urine samples, and gave me 1g Azithromycin. All test negative said it was NSU. Cause was most likely a bacterial infection. The worst of the irritation cleared up in 3-4 days however still had slight tingle at the base of my penis and 1-2 drops of clear discharge after urination.
Week 5 Partner had regular Pap Smear (not related).
Week 6 still slight tingle and discharge after urination.
she had a chest xray done on thursday and showed pneumonia. She started on amoxicillin on thursday and azithromycin on friday. She had a fever again on monday night after her shower. today she felt warm to the touch but normal rectal and tympanic temp. shouldn't the fevers be gone by now because of the antibiotics? We live near phoenix az and she got tested for valley fever the results are still pending. I'm just worried. I really don't know what to do at this point.
Afterwards, I freaked out and took 1g of Azithromycin (about 1 hour after sex). foolishly, I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend the next morning. Yesterday I took another 500mg of Azithromycin. Today, 4 days later, I feel like my urethra is red and a bit "wetter" inside. I feel a tingling sensation.
I am interested in how I should proceed. Can I wait a week, get tested, make sure I am clear, then have sex with my gf?
I went to the GP who took a first stream and middle stream urine sample to send off to the lab. She also prescribed azithromycin 1g x 1 and 7 100mg Doxycycline as a precaution. My questions are:
1) Would any bacterial std's be able to be detected 4 days post exposure?
2) The need to pee does feel very real and not in my head, could I have a urinary tract infection?
3) Are any bacterial std's going to survive the antibiotics prescribed?
While there I was taking ciprofloxacin and azithromycin 500 mg daily for prophylaxis. Two days after returning, I noticed mild burning on urination, and next day there was a clear to slightly yellow discharge, in small amounts. I saw my doctor who gave me 2mg of azithromycin plus 500mg for 3 days in addition to cefixime 400mg x 2 tablets the first day followed by 400mg per day for 3 days. The dysuria worsened, however.
Ten days ago my doctor gave me Azithromycin, thinking about some bacterial sore throat. As said, for a week, antibiotics seemed to work but three days ago pain and sore throat has restarted.
Can my sore throat be related to an oral gonorrhea infection?
I'm a bit worried about this possibility.
