Avodart specific birth defect

Common Questions and Answers about Avodart specific birth defect

avodart

Avatar n tn Propose that your partner try Avodart. I think it really helps with prostate enlargement. That is what the television commercials say anyhow. Unfortunately it also can cause a large reduction in semen production. AND women wanting to become pregnant should NEVER touch the pill as it can cause birth defects if they are exposed at all to it. You can Google Avodart read all of this yourself from a variety of sites, including Avodart's manufacturer.
Avatar f tn I'm 33 week, just had another ultrasound done. I saw my baby's face on the screen, it looked weird. Like her lip is not normal. My question is, will my doctor tell me if my baby really have cleft lip or any birth defect? I'm so scarred. I had anatomy scan at 20 weeks, they said everything's normal. Could they miss it? Or it was just the ultrasound machine that made everything look weird? Thank you for all your input.
Avatar f tn Can any ultrasound person tell that your baby has a birth defect? How about when they do the 3D ultrasounds can they still tell?
Avatar m tn When I developed gynecomastia (which is minor and I ignore) I lowered the dose of AVODART to one twice a week which is 8/month (from 15/month). AVODART has a long half life. Will 8/month still work? I wrote to GLaxo who make Avodart and they said what you said "ask your physician". My physician is very busy and I don't want to waste his time. My next appointment is in June and I will ask at that time if I don't have an answer by then.
Avatar f tn Im 14 weeks and 2 days and i just found out my baby has a birth defect called gastroschisis. What should i do to keep calm and not worry so much?
Avatar m tn What is normal time to stay Avodart ? The doc give enough for 3 weeks but I would think I would need to stay on for longer than that. I have had no side effects as I know of and I believe it has helped. How long has others stayed on this ? Thanks for any help.
Avatar m tn I'm 68 years old and have had Cataracts for over 2 years. I've been taking Avodart for over a year. Should I stop taking Avodart and wait awhile before cataract surgery or will the informed Dr be able to work with my eyes? I've never taken Flomax and have heard the warnings from the commercial and read about Flomax. I'm concerned about any complications. I'm also pretty active. Can I still swim after surgery and what are the chances of the lens shifting or coming loose?
Avatar f tn Even getting older an cause it, smoking, taking various medications (not just avodart), gaining weight, etc. Do you find you also have erectile dysfunction? Avodart, unfortunately, is associated with these side effects. It's unclear though how long they will last. What does your doctor say? What prompted starting the med? Your psa looks pretty good.
Avatar m tn I am a 61-year-old, white male. In the past, I had been VERY heterosexually active. I’m not gay. I am now in an exclusive, monogamous relationship and have been for quite some time. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with BPH, and prescribed a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Urine stream improved. Frequency abated. I asked my urologist to consider putting me on the standard dosage of Depo Testosterone, strictly as an exogenous source of free testosterone, due to malaise, fatigue, etc.
Avatar m tn Hi. I am a 61 year old, white male. In the past, I had been VERY heterosexually active. I am now in an exclusive, monogamous relationship. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with BPH, and prescribed a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. My urine stream improved. Frequency abated. So the drug worked. I asked my urologist to consider putting me on the standard dosage of Depo Testosterone, strictly as an exogenous source of free testosterone, due to malaise, fatigue, etc.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how they do the birth defect screening ? I'm going in for mine the 22nd what should I expect?
Avatar f tn One possibility is a birth defect, or genetic problem. Infection is another possibility. Very often, and frustratingly, no cause can be determined. A loss at this stage can be quite devastating, and I am sorry if you have suffered one. If I had more information, I could possibly be more specific. Hope this helps!
1157541 tn?1280785874 The folic acid is important to prevent a specific birth defect. 81-mg aspirin is often prescribed to help prevent a certain problem that can cause miscarriage. I was on both when I was pregnant. They don't help with conception, they help prepare for it and help after it.
Avatar f tn my daughter was diagnosed with a 3mm vsd when she was born (she was born on due date). she has had scans from birth to 2 years. the hole was still there at 2 years. i have since had problems with my new dr's getting her another scan she was due one at 4 years and it never happened. she is now 6 and i am going to take her private. the doctor says the murmur is still there. she still turns blue if she gets cold and it is hard to control her body temp most of the time.
Avatar f tn That is too vague, like saying child has "birth defect". What is the optic nerve abnormality? Optic nerve hypoplasia? Optic nerve drusen? Optic nerve coloboma?
Avatar n tn There is VERY little evidence that the hormones in the birth control pill will cause birth defects. The birth defect hype came from the drugs that were given to women who were ALREADY pregnant, to stop miscarriages. Don't stop taking the pill until a pregnancy is confirmed. It will not damage the zygote.
Avatar m tn I am suffering from BPH for the last 4 years and I am taking DUTASTERIDE (AVODART) and Alfuzosin . Unfortunately , these meds do not help much since few months ago. I also about a new procedure named: gat-goren (GG), that sounds as non-pervasive. Did anyone hear about the GG procedure and can share experience or knowledge about that ?
