Still then had clear discharge coming out with occasional cloudy discharge so went to see a urologist and got prescribed ciprofloxin and Zithromax. Once again after running the course same symptoms appeared again . Now went to my pcp and got prescribed avelox, this medicine seemed to have the best effect but after 5 days off of the med symptoms are back.

I don't think the doxycycline is working either. I'm 5 days into it and still feel awful. I'm beginning to think I'm going to have this forever. I"m allergic to the family of drugs that include Leviquin and Avelox so I can't take anything else but Zithromax and Doxycycline. I still feel as crummy today as the day I started the Doxy.
I am 39, female in pretty good shape (I run and work out regularly) I came down with Pneumonia after I had visited both the Bahamas and France in February and March. I came back from the bahamas with a cough, I got really bad in Paris and then seemed to get better when I came back home.
Yeah, some docs don't like the drugs in that family of abx (Levaquin, Avelox, Cipro) as eventually they're going to get a patient with a bad reaction. Nothing like a ruptured achilles heel requiring surgery, crutches, and rehab to **** off a patient! ;)
I just did my second set of blood tests today, and I see my LLMD on Wed. I have slowly declining kidney function, but I don't know if that's related to the Levaquin or what.
The problem persisted and it seem to show a lack of flow when i was peeing and it also took alot of push to get the pee even when i knew i had to go. coinsidentally, I was given Avelox for my ear infection a day later. I have been on avelox for 5 days now it still burns when i pee, the tip of the penis is swollen and the hole is red and swollen. 2 days ago i went to the urgent care and got tested for my urine sample and that showed up clear and I called today and they stated the std of gon.
ve taken since April are Avelox, Zithromax, Clindamycin and Biaxin (all of which I haven taken previously over the years w/ no problems). Each time I take one of these the symptoms are the same: after a few days of taking the med I start to experience itchiness, tightness, pressure inside my chest, like the sensation that something is in there. This continues until about 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotic.
I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question,
wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
The antibiotic families that she is allergic to are penicillin---ampicillin got her 26 years back after she had peritinitis; the other specific antibiotics are zithromax; macrobid and avelox...these are the ones she used that gave her urtica or hives and she had to get on prednisone etc. When she went to get bactrum as prescribed by a gynecologist, the pharmacist told her she was allergic to sulfa family drugs so not to take it.
After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
I have tendonitis as a result of taking Avelox. Is this a condition that can be treated like other tendonitis and what is the prognisis?
I have what i perceive to be a mild irritation of my urethra tip along with the clear discharge that i "milked" out. when i am on doxy or zithromax, they go away and then it seems to come back. I'm so confused. why would they react to antibiotics and then resume when the treatment is finished? I've had a NP tell me that after these two treatments, it must be perceived and not reality. If it was NCNGU, wouldn't i have had a high WBC when i was tested?

Avelox... I went yesterday and saw a lung specialist, he calmed me down and told me that i only have a little pneumonia in my lower left side it's nothing to be worried about. It's the bronchitis that's causing a lot of pain in my chest and back that I did not have prior to the antibiotics.
I recently developed an upper respitory infection and bronchitis and one of the medications was AVELOX. Within 3 days the severe pain in my shoulders was GONE. How is this possible? Was it a viral infection causing my pains and if so could it be a form of Lyme Disease?
Also, because he saw I didn’t seem convinced, he just gave me 2g of Zithromax (8 tablets) which he said would take care of Gono and Chlamydia if I had it. I took it in one shot.

i) Does this event carry any risk for HIV or any STD? Would you recommend any testing? I’m thinking of doing a HIV Duo test at 28 days and a VDRL
ii) Assuming I had a RECTAL infection from this, would 2g of Zithromax clear Gono and Chlamydia?
treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.

Currently I have 6 days remaining on the doxycycline and 9 days remaining on the avelox. I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
