I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question,
wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
After trying Doxy, Azithromycin, and Flagyl, the only antibiotic that finally worked was Avelox. The question now is what I should treat my partner with. I know from my experience that my NGU was passed sexually, and she needs to get treated before we can have sex again. The problem, is that she said she is allergic to Avelox. Another problem, is that since it is NGU, we cannot test to confirm if the bacteria is cured, and she is also asymptomatic.
I have tendonitis as a result of taking Avelox. Is this a condition that can be treated like other tendonitis and what is the prognisis?
The area of hardness had decreased. Surprisingly, the culture came back as pseudomonas. My dr was shocked.He took me off the duricef and put me on cipro.He wants to see me back in a month and if he feels anything will repeat the ultrasound. My dad is 81 and has chronic pseudomonas infection in his lungs. He also has COPD. This is his 4th round of getting this infection in 3 years. At my 1 week post OP APPOINTMENT , my ENT INFORMED ME THAT I HAD PSEUDOMONAS ( lab results confirmed with the cultures they took at the time of surgery). He started me on levequin 500mg/ once a day & a course of steroids, the next week I went back to see him and I could barely breath thru my nose, so he also prescribed me a nasal flush compound of levequin/tobermycin. I took the FULL course of levequin 14days, as well as the full course of the nasal flush.
I take care of a quad male that has a trach in place. His sputum had tested positive for MRSA, pseudomonas, and trichomonas. I had no idea you could get and std in your sputum and i'm even more curious to find out how that happened. Is that really a possibility and how could he have gotten it in his sputum?
I first blew my nose into my fingers and then scraped my fingers to the edge/top of the collection container (which is actually a urine sample container) and i kept doing this a few times a day for a couple of days. treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.
Sorry, that is something I don't have experience with and not sure if it ties into Lyme disease.

I have not engaged in any sexual activity whatsoever since my diagnosis however I still have a very mild clear mucus discharge primarily in the morning; the penile itching and dysuria has abated.
I also havfe asthma. I recently was told I have pseudomonas in my lungs. I take 1200 mgs of mucinex daily and use a acapella to help vibrate the lungs. Is there anything else that I can do in treating the pseudomonas. I wake up every morning full of congestion in my chest and cough for about 2 hrs in the morning and then through out the day. I searched info on the bacteria responsible for hot tub folliculitis. It is called pseudomonas aeruginosa which sounds very serious. It says the bacteria can be deadly. Possibly turn into sepsis or meningitis! Is it possible my son could develop anything serious from being in the water & drinking/inhaling some?
