anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
Yes, I had one day fever 100.5 and very sore throat and developed full blown cold but fever I suspect was symptom for inflammation coming on. Because following mild neck/back/ shoulder pains, I was attacked with unbelievable painful locked shoulder joint which I believe was delayed adverse reaction from Augmentin. Never will take it again although I had it before and didn't have problem then.
I was prescribed augmentin for a sinus infection and I had no side effects while taking it. I finished it 4 days ago. Starting yesterday afternoon I had clay colored stool. I thought it would pass, but it hasn't. I have very slight stomach cramps. Is this normal and my body is just recovering from the antibiotic or should I be concerned?
Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
I saw my PA today and we concluded that most of my symptoms at this point are probably Babesia and side effects of Malarone. She didn't put me on Mepron because it has to be taken with Zithromax, which I can't take because of another med I am on. She gave me another scrip for a med I've never heard of, Alinia, to take along with Malarone. But get this, my insurance only authorized 20 days worth, not the 30 that was prescribed. I don't know why.

If you go on sites such as WebMD you can find those side effects, and they will also be on the information packet that comes with your first prescription. Most of us don't read it. But what will always be hidden is that every individual will react differently to medication -- the trials will result in generalizations that don't necessarily apply to the person sitting in front of the doc who prescribes the medication.
My condition did not improve, but did not get worse. Thus, I was put on Cipro (twice a day). After two days of treatment, I developed side effects to the Cipro (muscle and joint pain). I was taken off the Cipro and was put on Augmentin (twice a day) for 21 days, which I began taking today. My urologist advised me that if the Augmentin does not work, then there is not a whole lot he can do to improve my condition given that there are no other antibiotics that could be helpful.
Levaquin a a pretty strong broad spectrum antibiotic. I was told it was effective against staff also, when I had a cut on my leg that wasn't healing. There is an article on webmd about leep and side effects. Type leep in the webmd search engine.
m not familiar with those particular meds...have you looked perhaps on WebMD...looked up each med and read all of their potential side effects? There are usually things your doc or pharmacist doesn't tell you. Also, are you taking anything else? Prescribed or not? Could be an interaction issue. Check with you pharmacist about potential medication interactions.
If it gets to bothersome...ask your doc to change your meds.
Then try reading up about DHEA, its a over the counter hormon replacmet, but please read all about it first and its side effects, just put in the old serch engine DHEA for ED, or try looking up webmd and they have and page on DHEA, ie what it is, what it can do nad how much to take, I'm 64 and it worked for me, but I did read all about befroe going down the street with it.
Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.
