Hey, I've just been diagnosed with ADHD and I'll be taking Atomoxetine. It's the non - stimulant type, I was thinking the stimulant form of medication would suit me better with such as an Amphetamine based one. I was a user on speed awhile ago and when I was on I felt established, in control, I could concentrate and express my inteligence.

I was diagnosed with ADHD 9/9 in March this year by a phsyciatrist at a harley street in London(remotley) I tried stimulants dextroamphetamine and listamphetamin but they didn't agree with me. I was then prescribed atomoxetine. I took these for 4 weeks- start with 10mg then 20mg then 40mg and called my harley phsyciatrist as I was running out.

Aparently many medical teams around the world dont belive a.d.h.d goes into adulthood, belive me it does! Hi guys, I hope someone is able to help me with this… I am currently taking Atomoxetine – a medication used to treat ADHD in adults. I take 40mg once daily in the morning and it really helps me to concentrate better and function the way I need to etc… One of the main issues I have is the effect it has on my penis and testicles.

Hi. There is no current study that prohibits Atomoxetine (Strattera) users to take creatine supplements. However, caution should be made when taking supplements, since both drugs can alter kidney function and cause urinary symptoms (e.g. stones, dysuria) when not taken properly. People with schizophrenia doesn't realize that they are hearing stuff aren't there, and they usually response to these hallucinations as if they are real while they aren't. I've noticed that you're posting too much about it, and no you don't have schizophrenia. And you aren't showing any symptoms other than hallucinations. Schizophrenia jsmt only about hallucinations it's about losing touch with reality.

I am curious to this question, If someone does not have any family background of schizophrenia and they are the only 1% of the population that gets schizophrenia anyways, how can it be just genetic? This is depressing.How can they prove that a child has 30 40 or 60 percent chance of getting this disease? Because I sopposedly had schiz now I find out whether or not I have it I probably can't adopt and they say I should not have kids.

Also he/she wants to know why that everyone is telling he/she not to ever have kids because he/she would not be allowed to adopt he/she has thought this thru and decided since he/she was only the 1% of the population that gets schizophrenia without inheratence that it may be ok to have children.

While I'm sure that people with Schizophrenia may experience some of the symptoms you described, that doesn't mean that you have Schizophrenia. Those symptoms can also be caused by Severe Depression. What is your age? It is very, and I mean VERY rare for anyone to develope Schizophrenia after the age of about 20. Depression and Schizophrenia are two very different illnesses.

Yes schizophrenia doesnt have any mood changes but there are a whole spectrum of conditions in between such as bipolar with psychotic features and schizoaffective disorder which involve both psychosis and mood changes. Sometimes certain concerns such as psychosis can increase over time become more apparent or are more in need of treatment. Bipolar with psychotic features is generally defined by psychotic thoughts or auditory or other hallucinations occuring only during mood swings..

If your really scared of having schizophrenia because of anxiety could you make up the schizophrenia symptoms yourself?? For example if someone with anxiety fears of hearing voices could they imagen the voices themselves in their head and think they have schizophrenia even do its just them imagining the voices because their so anxious??? There is hope for Schizophrenics because they have the ability to not fear, and it is hopeful for those with anxiety because they can know that there is no need to fear mental illness such as schizophrenia because schizophrenia is not a matter of fear, it is a matter of a condition which we either have or do not have, which can be determined through evaluation.

t know is a PhD or an MD, but I am assuming he is a researcher too in the field, said that only 1 % of the general population is diagnoses with schizophrenia, and in that population with schizophrenia, only 2 percent already had the diagnosis of OCD.
