atomoxetine and fluoxetine

Hey, I've just been diagnosed with ADHD and I'll be taking Atomoxetine. It's the non - stimulant type, I was thinking the stimulant form of medication would suit me better with such as an Amphetamine based one. I was a user on speed awhile ago and when I was on I felt established, in control, I could concentrate and express my inteligence.

If you took a lot of both drugs, Melatonin and fluoxetine. Would/could they do any serious damage? I am on fluoxetine and take melatonin regularly.

Yes I suffer from the same problems as you describe above and have been on and off fluoxetine for several years for major depression and I can reassure you that the side effects as far as increased anxiety at the beginning of treatment are common and I have had to take an antianxiety medication for the first couple of weeks to combat this effect. In 2-3 weeks it should subside and that's usually when I also start to feel the desired effect of fluoxetine.

hello, just wondered if anyone has any advice, im currently taking 40mg of fluoxetine but feel this is not quite enough, my doc wont prescribe me 60mg dose but instead has given me 10mg buspirone to take alongside the fluoxetine. has anybody taken this combination of meds and is it helpful?

not sure what this means.. melatonin reduces the antidepressant effect of fluoxetine.. and then in the last sentence fluoxetine has lead to a measurable depletion of melatonin in people..

Fluoxetine (Prozac) has the slowest elimination of the SSRIs.

ve had more jobs than my age and have been put on medications for depression and even biopolar disorder, when being A.D.D. was the real problem. I only figured out that I was A.D.D. because my friend gave me an adderall because I was super exhausted and she said it would wake me up (I don't usually take other peoples medication). The adderall had the complete opposite affect and I was amazed how calm I felt.

My brother went to a psychiatrist and he prescribed him fluoxetine and xanax. He said that my brother should take one 20mg tablet of fluoxetine for the morning and 0.5 tablet for xanax for morning and night for 14 days . He said to take the 0.5 mg xanax tablet half in morning and the other half at night So, my brother took the fluoxetine and xanax for 14 days and then again went to the psychiatrist. My brother has not felt any improvement for his ocd or depression from the tablets.

I take 40mg once daily in the morning and it really helps me to concentrate better and function the way I need to etc… One of the main issues I have is the effect it has on my penis and testicles.

Hi. There is no current study that prohibits Atomoxetine (Strattera) users to take creatine supplements. However, caution should be made when taking supplements, since both drugs can alter kidney function and cause urinary symptoms (e.g. stones, dysuria) when not taken properly. Lately, I have been having bradycardia issues, specifically in the evening time. My pulse is usually between 48 and 52 beats per minute... which is a bit low for me. I am taking the medicine for hypertension... but since heart disease runs in my family and fish oil has some pretty good evidence behind it, I thought I would take it 2. Any comments, suggestions?

i just started on fluoxetine and it depends on when you take it, if your taking it in the morning then switching to the evenings should solve the problem.

I've had depression for some time and was prescribed fluoxetine a few months ago. In the second and third week of taking it I experienced what I can only describe as mild euphoria and a sort of agitation- not being able to sleep, restlessness and the shakes- which was not unpleasant because of the euphoric feeling that accompanied it.

i am taking fluoxetine for anixety,panic i feel sick and nausea all day , i can only eat a little bit then i feel very full. i am also having heartburn with this does anyone else take this medication and if so do you have or know if these symptoms are normal?

Ive been to the doctors and they put me on Fluoxetine tablets. One a day until they tell me to stop. However I've had two so far but want to stop. I know you have to slowly come off of them but if I've only had two can I just stop? Please help!
