Avatar n tn Your symptoms related to impulsivenss, forgetfulness, organizational problems, and struggles with self-motivation are part of the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. A diagnosis of ADHD includes an onset of symptoms prior to age 8, as well as impairment across settings (e.g. home, work, school). Many primary care providers treat symptoms of ADHD with stimulants or alternatives such as Atomoxetine (Strattera).
Avatar n tn m of the opinion (based on the literature about how health care providers make errors) that diagnosing a person with a neurological disorder like ADHD should be done with both a thorough diagnostic interview and some objective data collection. The symptoms of ADHD can occur for many reasons, and ADHD in adults is highly likely to co-occur with anxiety and depression.

Avatar n tn The twins get along great about 95% of the time but of course fight occasionally. They both team up on their older brother who's 8 Lol. Aaton (the youngest) does have ADHD but is on a non-stimulate medication unlike the oldest who is on stimulates for his ADD. He absolutely loves school and is a really sweet helpful happy little boy. I'm a single mom (dad has no contact court orders) that works nights so I'm available whenever the boys need me.

Avatar n tn Hi. There is no current study that prohibits Atomoxetine (Strattera) users to take creatine supplements. However, caution should be made when taking supplements, since both drugs can alter kidney function and cause urinary symptoms (e.g. stones, dysuria) when not taken properly. I suggest that you ask your doctor first if these are safe for you to use. Thanks for asking.
Avatar m tn Throughout my life I have been taking a medication called Atomoxetine for the treatment of ADHD. One of the side effects of this medication was that it would always cause my penis and scrotum to retract as if they were extremely cold all the time throughout the day - causing me to have to take hot or warm baths to temporarily solve this.

20003388 tn?1515166040 Every time I try a medication that has a reuptake effect on norepeneprhine I get this mild burning sensation on the left side of my chest. So far I have had this happen with Atomoxetine, Venlafaxine, Bupropion and now Nortrypytiline. It isn't anxiety, a panic attack or heartburn, just a dull, moderately uncomfortable, burning sensation. I'm fine with all the SSRI's and medications like Rexulti. It's just the ones that affect NE.

Avatar f tn Hi. My son is 10 years old with severe adhd. He has been on meds since he was 5. Recently we have had to change his meds for the first time in 5 yrs.(nightmare) I hadn't really thought about it til now but am really interested in some natural remedies for this. Even some over the counter meds would be fine. Does anyone have something they do for their child that works well?
Avatar f tn But when inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior are the norm for a child, it may be a sign of ADHD. ADHD can lead to problems at home and at school, with family, teachers, and peers, so it’s important to identify the symptoms and get help.
383943 tn?1217722721 Did she get evaluated by a psycholigist or developmental doctor that specializes in ADHD? If she has ADHD, the first medication that you should try is Metadate CD or Ritalin. Start with a very small dosage such as 2.5mg or 5mg. If it does not work because it is not enough, keep on increasing the amount very slowly until you see that she is doing well. I am not familiar with celexa. If it is a stimulant like Ritalin, the dosage sounds too high.
