Common Questions and Answers about Astelin ns

astelin

Avatar f tn I have taken Astelin before being cured of hepatitis C. Astelin doesn't produce serious side effects like you are claiming. Your symptoms maybe connected to hepatitis C but very much doubt it's connect to Astelin and Hepatitis C. Regardless, I can tell you that I experience nothing like what you are suggesting while taking Astelin.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have several suggestions. First, add a sinus rinse to your routine. They sound gros, but they are so effective. Another thought is to cosider trying Patanase instead of the Astelin. Astelin wasn't a problem for me, but it sucesseors Astepro and Astepro 0.15% were horrible. I felt better when I didn't use the med then when I did. I got very congested after using it and it lasted about 5 hour with constant, Astepro drainage. Lastly, it may be time to consider allergy shots.
Avatar f tn ve also been taking Atenolol and spraying copious amount of Astelin nasal spray up my nose several times in the evening and at night. I have even been letting it run down the back of my throat and swallowing it because it's the only thing that makes me feel at least somewhat relaxed and sleepy. However, I have begun to wonder if the Astelin and/or Atenolol might be actually aggravating my anxiety symptoms and making me feel worse.
Avatar n tn A quick trip to the doctor and I was told that I had some kind of nasty allergic reaction which clogged my sinuses, gave me a post nasal drip which in turn caused the sore throat and asthma to act up. She prescribed Astelin, a nasal spray antihistamine and described the allergic reaction as a sort of systemic thing and that the astelin should clear it all up. That was Wednesday. I've been using it as told since then and I've only really noticed a very very slight improvement.
Avatar n tn (i first came up with this because i also took astelin and that produced similar bronchospasms...now i see that astelin has BAC in common with combivent and albuterol, etc.). now my internist has order a blood sugar test and an eye test....so i'm really getting worried. thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn I went to my ns today and he confirmed I have chiari and cervical disk disease and on top of it a brain aneurysm. He said chiari is on the bottom of the list. He said the aneurysm is the most important thing right now. He said the ruptured cervical disk may be causing my symptoms. So Friday I go for an angiograph and I am supposed to see another Dr about my neck.

Avatar n tn I have had post nasal drip as long as I can remember. I am a 52 yr old mail, 5'9", 195lbs. My PND gummed up the back of my throat enough in July of this year to wake me everytime I nod off. I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.
Avatar f tn She said that I have fluid built up behind my ears but no sign of infection. Now, she prescribed steroids (Medrol Dosepack 4 mg) to take for the next 6 days and Astelin nasal spray. She wants to refer me to an ENT if this hasn't helped in 2 weeks. What is going to happen from there? Why am I having these issues? I'm getting really frustrated by this and I'm tired of dealing with it. This has been ongoing for over 4 months now!
Avatar m tn would a nasal spray help with the clicking and head aches and feeling of a full head and ear??
Avatar m tn When I went to my ns he said he looked at my mri and said I definitely have chiari but no syrnix. Does that mean my chiari isn't that bad. He also said I have a ruptured cervical disc which may be pressing on my spinal cord causing my symptoms.
Avatar f tn Been to see my NS 2day for 4month follow up. was ok, my syrinx is the same and there's still not an awful lot of space back there so I'm gonna be having another MRI in a few months and he's gonna decide whether to revisit or not then.
1925822 tn?1333705617 I really have to say i underestimated the knowledge of my ns!!! He is more specialist than i thought.i had a really nice meeting with him today!!!he welcomed me with his warm face and was honestly happy to see me.i explained all my symptoms and he listened carefully and wrote down everything.he flexed my neck and took me serious.he thinks my problems are cranio cervical what selma and a lot of people always told me.
1414195 tn?1281890344 I saw the NS yesterday, and he is a chiari specialist who primarily works on children but does about 3 adult surgeries a year. I felt comfortable with him before he even discussed my options. He looked at my mri scans, and I was informed that I have a lot of overcrowding at the back of my skull and I have a 12.1 mm herniation. He did recommend surgery as the best option for me and went into great detail about how he would perform the operation.
1052624 tn?1255795247 from other hospitals. How scary is that?! I like the fact that two NS perform every surgery and that they have well over 2,000 under there belt but NY and they're "out of network" to boot. Any help is very much appreciated. I hope this is a "good" day for you.
Avatar f tn Had my Cervical MRI done yesterday, and the statement from the NS was "your brain is not pressing on your spinal column and we don't see any syrinx, so you don't meet the criteria for surgery". Then he told me that my NL can help me to manage the symptoms I am having but there is nothing that can be done from a surgerical standpoint. I got a copy of the disc but the report wasn't ready before we left.
Avatar m tn this is not Terri's forum - you have to pay to post to her. definitely be seen again today and tomorrow and get this looked at. they can also test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally while you are there. yeast infections aren't unusual after antibiotic use. you can also follow up with a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is. They are hard to find where you live but they are available.
1571533 tn?1322943509 IS there anyone on here that has had their surgery performed by one NS and wated to change to a different doctor afterwards?? My followup care is lacking the care part, apparently my pain and problems are not a concern... im just not sure what to do. emails and phone calls havent done anything.. even the NL on his team that is supposed to be my neuro, isnt helping me any he acts like im just not his patient. and im starting to think that finding a new provider is the answer, unfortunately...
Avatar m tn Had an NS appointment (non-Chiari specialist, but most experienced with Chiari surgery here). Said that because the tonsils were rounded and no visible signs of wear on spinal cord, no syrinx in c1-c4 (he did order spine MRI), and no visible sign of crowding or CSF leak/disruption, my symptoms (more neuro: tingling, dizziness, etc. than migraine/headaches) are likely not directly related to the Chiari. Is this a possibility, or is basically every related to Chiari?
Avatar n tn I have googled it to no end. He also put me on Astelin which has helped a ton and he said Docs cant be so quick to judge and just call everything allergies. The reason I dont have allergies is I am just congested in the face and nose I dont have anyother sypmtoms such as Itchy anything or sore throats.
Avatar f tn I feel your pain. I have had chronic sinusitis for probably 25 years. I was a smoker and all of the doctors said what can you expect, you are a smoker. I quit 20 years ago and the chronic sinusitis never let up. I have had the classic allergy tests and gone in for shots 3x per week and that did nothing. I have gone to a dozen allergists and they have tried sprays and medicine that work for a month and assumed that I had asthma which none of the treatments work.
Avatar n tn 5mg prn ( about once a week , which does help but makes me tired) and chochizine one daily, Flonase and Astelin for seasonal allergies/ sinus but still continue with chest heaviness, light headedness, neck aches and what seems to be feelings of anxiety . So, here are my questions, have you seen such a collection of symptoms after meningitis? Do you think that what I am experiencing is even related to having meningitis?
Avatar n tn Hi, Thanks for your response. I already had a Sinus CT scan done a few months ago that showed "mild" mucus thickening of maxillary sinus and deviated septum. My ENT said this was virtually negligible, but he put me on 2 weeks of antibiotics (Azythromycin) anyways, in case i had a bacterial infection. None of this helped my symptoms.
