Common Questions and Answers about Astelin in pregnancy

astelin

Avatar f tn Did you contact your provider to inform about the Astelin side effects? Will be curious about what was said. I was just thinking about that in general as it is spring pollen season. I am treating 3wk of 12 GT2 Sov/Rbv. Most of the only have mild symptoms that saline nasal sprays usually take care of it. But sometimes it may not work good enough. I am going to ask treatment provider for a recommendation and about Nasacort OTC.
Avatar n tn s never able to see any post-nasal drip when I go in. I could swear it feels like it, though, and I can hear it in my voice sometimes. Just really confused. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have several suggestions. First, add a sinus rinse to your routine. They sound gros, but they are so effective. Another thought is to cosider trying Patanase instead of the Astelin. Astelin wasn't a problem for me, but it sucesseors Astepro and Astepro 0.15% were horrible. I felt better when I didn't use the med then when I did. I got very congested after using it and it lasted about 5 hour with constant, Astepro drainage. Lastly, it may be time to consider allergy shots.
Avatar f tn ve also been taking Atenolol and spraying copious amount of Astelin nasal spray up my nose several times in the evening and at night. I have even been letting it run down the back of my throat and swallowing it because it's the only thing that makes me feel at least somewhat relaxed and sleepy. However, I have begun to wonder if the Astelin and/or Atenolol might be actually aggravating my anxiety symptoms and making me feel worse.
Avatar n tn A quick trip to the doctor and I was told that I had some kind of nasty allergic reaction which clogged my sinuses, gave me a post nasal drip which in turn caused the sore throat and asthma to act up. She prescribed Astelin, a nasal spray antihistamine and described the allergic reaction as a sort of systemic thing and that the astelin should clear it all up. That was Wednesday. I've been using it as told since then and I've only really noticed a very very slight improvement.
Avatar n tn my husbanc has blood in his urine, at times it is as dark as bedadine, I took him see a doc at the er, no pain, and tests show blood but, no infection. They did not do a c-t scan, put him on antibiotics just in case, and told him to see his doc. on monday, can you please give me some possibilies, of what it might be?
Avatar f tn Well, I ended up going back to the doctor 2 weeks later, still having issues, but I had broken out in a rash over my entire body - apparently from being in the sun and taking antibiotics. Anyway, my doctor said that my ears looked alright but there was swelling in my sinuses. He prescribed Nasonex, again, which I've taken for the last month. Well, it is still bothering me as I sometimes my ear aches when I swallow. I feel congested, have some achiness between and behind my eyes.
Avatar n tn , 195lbs. My PND gummed up the back of my throat enough in July of this year to wake me everytime I nod off. I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.

Avatar n tn This so called “neurogenic rhinitis” remains poorly understood but probably represents parasympathetic activation. This prominence of nasal symptoms in these patients often leads to a misdiagnosis of sinus disease in patients who meet the diagnostic criteria for migraine.
Avatar n tn My initial symptoms included mild headaches, a fine rash on my trunk and arms, which was intermittent, lightheadness and very high blood pressure. this started in late May and by late June I had been to the ER twice for episodes of feeling extremely light headed and dizzy, palpitations, difficulty thinking, changes in vision and a nearly constant neck ache and as time went on feeling like I was going to pass out.

Avatar f tn for no apparent reason -or- there is some underlying source(s) of stress in my life that I believe triggers it. I DO have tons of stress in my life. This particular bout came on very strong about 4 days ago. I had been working on a new project and was really motivated, enjoying myself. Anxiety was the last thing on my mind and I was completely caught up in what I was doing. Then, some time in the late afternoon, I began experiencing this sudden feeling/sensation in my head.
Avatar f tn Family history: My sister & dad have rhinitis. My mom has chronic cough and her PCP said it’s allergic (don't have detail check-up). I had strong allergic reaction to Erythromycin (whole body & face swollen & covered by hives/rash) when I was a kid Since 2010, I started feeling congested at night (bedtime & early morning) and okay in daytime. Occasionally took Claritin because of tickle in throat but nothing serious. Normal daily life & sleeping is fine.
Avatar n tn Hi All: I have been dealing with a chronic cough for 3 + months and have tried nearly everything imaginable. This came on slowly out of nowhere with no obvious illness preceding. First my symptoms: Constant Need to Clear the Throat, a feeling of loose mucous around the trachea that only goes away briefly after clearing, along with occasional rattling when breathing.
Avatar m tn Zyrtec, Astelin, Flovent discus, among other medicines to no avail. Any suggestions on medicines or potential cures?
Avatar f tn Hi there I am a 48 year old male with a history of chronic sinusitis and allergic rhinitis. I also have a deviated septum on the left side. Allergies run very deep in my family and this year (from what I understand) has been an especially harsh time for people suffering from allergies.
20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
Avatar n tn The worsening of symptoms in July suggests that something out of the ordinary, something new is going on in your nose and/or sinuses. It could be infection, allergy, the development of nasal polyps or a mucus secreting tumor, benign or malignant. You should have an examination of your nose and throat by an ENT specialist and a CT scan of your sinuses. In the meantime, nasal irrigation, also called nasal washes with low concentration saline might provide symptomatic relief.
