Avatar m tn I had a blood-analysis made and it showed that concentration of hormones in my blood was good. Concentration of testestorone, concentration of oestradiol and free androgen index were even higher than norm. Other things measured in blood-analysis were also quite normal and there was nothing remarkable in blood analysis. I have not taken antipsychotics for over a year but my libido has not recovered. It is known that antipsychotics cause decrease of libido.
Avatar n tn Abilify (aripipazole) is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia. The efficacy of Abilify in the treatment of schizophrenia was established in short-term (4- and 6-week) controlled trials of schizophrenic inpatients. The long-term efficacy of aripiprazole in the treatment of schizophrenia has not been established. The physician who elects to use Abilify for extended periods should periodically reevaluate the long-term usefulness of the drug for the individual patient.
Avatar f tn Abilify should not be given to child younger than 13 years old for treatment of schizophrenia. Talk to your child’s doctor about the risks of using the medication. Adolescents are at higher risk for suicidal thoughts when taking the medication." (from.... https://www.psycom.net/abilify-aripiprazole) Your doctors broke medical standards. I am still curious what kind of a doctor would recommend these anti-psychotic meds to a child so young. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn maybe find a new doctor? I have a doctor (who i am not going back to now) who just would keep writing scripts. My last visit I asked for a new sleep medication but she didn't want to give me a sleeping pill. Instead prescribed me a medication used for schizophrenia. She told me don't read too much about it because it might worry me. She was giving it to me because she felt it would help me sleep! Well, of course I looked it up when I got home and saw what it was.
Avatar f tn What is the lethal dose of aripiprazole, quetiapine and lamotrigine? Mix of them.
Avatar m tn I would try replacing the Aripiprazole (Abilify) and the Sertraline (Zoloft) by taking 25mg of 5-HTP 3x Daily for 1 week as anymore than this could induce Serotonin Syndrome. I would then recommend swapping the tablets out for a 5-HTP transdermal patch which will release a more even dose of 5-HTP throughout the day especially if you have BPD as otherwise the oral form could cause mania.

Avatar m tn Hello! I have schizophrenia. I took 1 injection of 200 mg of Clopixol each month, that is about 6,6 mg/day, but I have stopped taking it. I read on the internet that the minimum dosage is 4 mg/day. I have stopped the treatment without passing through a period of time of taking the minimum dosage. Was that too abrupt? I also read on the web that the negative secondary effects of any anti-psychotic (including Clopixol) increase if one stops the treatment abruptly.

Avatar m tn You sound like me before I got treatment. It is just a severe form of depression. if you had schizophrenia and were not on medication, you wouldn't have been able to write that post so it is not schizophrenia. But very treatable, so get help and do not suffer on as it will hardly get better on its own.
1647108 tn?1301275694 I always deal with my clients and take care of them to the best of my ability as well as my co-workers. But the memories have been getting worse and I have been getting suicidal a lot more often, in addition to the cutting, in addition finding it harder to control the anger. I can not bear the thought of hurting another person unless to heal them, but it's getting harder and harder not to pick something up and start up.

Avatar n tn Hey Buddy, I really hope you have sought help concerning your brother. I also agree that it's very hard to get a diagnosis via the net, but the symptoms that you described sound almost textbook for some type of paranoid schizophrenia. Not trying to scare you, but it's imperative that you have him checked out by his pediatrician or preferably a credentialed child psychologist, post haste. Best of luck, Buddy!
Avatar n tn I immediately got paranoid about voices in the head as it is a symptom of schizophrenia in Nash. For the remaining of the day I was fine and I was okay the next two days because I was not focus on it. Suddenly on Friday I was really worried that I have voices in my head and start looking at the symptoms on the net. 444937 tn?1307226385 I do not think you were misdiagnosed to have schizophrenia. And the present symptoms of relapse of schizophrenia have probably come due to the inadequate action of the drug. You have probably developed tolerance. You may need to consider increasing the dose. As far as the other symptoms are considered, there is a possibility that those are due to some physical ailment. I would have your inner ear examined and have your neurological examination done.
Avatar f tn Scientists have long known that schizophrenia sometimes runs in families. The illness occurs in less than 1 percent of the general population, but it occurs in 10 percent of people who have a first-degree relative with the disorder, such as a parent, brother, or sister. I can understand your fear, especially if you already deal with an anxiety disorder.........which is VASTLY different than schizophrenia.
