I learned that some weman experienced elevated blood pressure and blood clots while on Arimidex. And Arimidex is known to cause high blood pressure and blood clots. How do know for sure that Arimidex is the cause of my high blood pressure?

I took enough of it that it nearly zeroed my levels of estrogens. Due to some weird problems with blood pressure I was taken off this (And other drugs) to try to figure out if one of the meds was the BP problem. Letting my estrogen levels go up restored my sex drive. This is just my amateur 2 cents worth (I am not a doctor) I think having too little estrogen can mess up your sex drive just as too little testosterone can.

I really don't want to take fossamax or any more drugs than necessary, but also do not want a recurrence of breast cancer. Is there a clinical study and shows femara vs placebo rather than femara vs tamoifen (novartis trial)? What is the general recommendation? I hate to tell you but I am on Arimidex and I have joint pain in my hips and knees and my fingers are stiff and swollen -- It started two weeks after I started the Arimidex --- It may be gentler than Femara but for me it hasn't been a walk in the part either -- Sorry your mom is feeling so poorly -- I hope they help her quickly -- maybe she should be taking Calcium with Vitamin D in the meantime

if your blood pressure is too high it restricts the blood vessels and can stop baby from getting enough blood and oxygen. if it gets extremely high it can cause seizures. are you seeing spots or having blurred vision? I agree with bjbbeauchamp, try nor to stress! and if it goes up any more then go to L&D! its better to be safe than sorry! 4 years ago after the birth of my child I was on 4 different medications. Today none, and my blood pressure is 100/60. All the ideas mammo gave you on exercise, low salt diet and more is what helped me get off medications and get my BP back on track.
