Avatar n tn he said i should consult specialist but when i told him that i had an open surgery for appendicitis he said this might be the reason and i should wait 1 month more and do urine analysis again if again positive consult specialist afterwords. Avatar n tn Also, did they check for ovarian torsion?
Avatar f tn When symptomatic, appetite is down but no weight loss. Black stool occurred twice in last year. Workup by GYN almost a year ago was negative and was told to see GI. Over the past 2 months I have developed loose stools and with this I have an appt. pending with GI. My mother died at young age 44 from stomach CA and dad had 6 cm polyp removed from colon recently. I have no other chronic medical issues, generally healthy, take birth control pills only. What should be included in my workup?
139519 tn?1212369358 Can Anyone tell me what should be included in a autoimmune workup for a person with Lupus/fm/ MS type symptoms and what specifically one should look for. Also, what is a really high Sed rate level. I know 40 is high but what is a little high and what is shockingly high in nature. Also why would a doc suggest a muscle biopsy in general and are there blood tests that would make this a non necessary proceedure? Also is a elevated sed rate a reason to rule out fibromyalgia?
Avatar n tn What you describe could be a number of things, including pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, ... or something else altogether. This set of symptoms doesn't seem to be the type one can afford to ignore. Pls see a doc/urgent care right away. Hope you'll write again to let us know how you're doing.
Avatar m tn It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
Avatar f tn Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn The next day, I was sent to the er because in the middle of the night i was in the most severe pain in my right side of my abdomen they were convinced appendicitis. So they drew bld did a workup, and found no increase in WBC, so they wanted a CT scan, I had had a barium series the day before, and then they made me drink more that day and all they could see was what they thought was a large cyst on my ovary that was leaking, so pain meds and rest for a few days I was fine.
Avatar m tn He then took a screening CT in the lab and gave the report as Chronic appendicitis with 7mm thickness. Ficolith inside the appendicitis and advised to remove it whenever you feel free but not an emergency. The Gastroenterologist was not convinced and he asked me to take a Contrast enhanced CT. But the local doctor said it is not necessary and i don't have any acute episode and there is no such Chronic appendicitis.
Avatar f tn I had a full cardiac workup with two stress tests that were fine and had a cardiologist tell me that even though I am about 80 lbs overweight that my heart was normal, functioning appropriately, and not enlarged. I do need to lose weight but I also have high blood pressure too. Wondering if the back pain that I am feeling, the high blood pressure, and the edema in my ankles could be congestive heart failure?
Avatar m tn Hi, this could be ureter stone, right ovarian cyst or appendicitis. If pulse is more than 80 and blood shows high TLC counts, is suggestive of appendicitis. In case of ureter stone, urine usually shows infection and ultrasound is diagnostic, pain is usually radiating in nature. Well colon pain is colicky or dull in nature, do you have recent history of diarrhea?
1036535 tn?1278502599 I also had accute lower right abdominal pain two years ago. I went to the ER once and they did a std workup for appendicitis, including a CT. It was negative so they sent me home with pain pills. Three days later I went to my PCP and had a slightly elevated temp and worsening pain. Light pressure on my appendix was very painful, with rebound pain. He sent me off to the ER and met me there later. Called a surgeon he trusted to look at me. Ordered another CT. Negative again.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar m tn hi im really worried i have appendicitis, i had diarrhea for 3 days, and now after all of that my lower right and lower left sides have a dull, tenderness to them, its not severe pain but im worried it might become severe. the more i think and read abut it the more it hurts. above my belly button hurt when touched as well, i do not have a fever, and i have not been vomiting, but once in a while my stomach feels like there s a dull kick in those three areas.

Avatar n tn I have had my gallbladder removed lapo 2 weeks ago… I’m NOW expercing this sharp pain on my right lower abdominal area by my belly button, what are my chances of having appendicitis after gall bladder surgery? I want to avoid the ER, doctors and GI’s I went through so many test and so many trips to the ER during the period of 3 months to finally find out my gall bladder was only functioning at 1.
Avatar f tn ve searched for my simptoms online. This way I found out about stump appendicitis and I got mortified it could be that. Could the CT scan have missed it? All the other organs seemed fine. Last year, I didn't develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again??

Avatar n tn the pain is debilitating such that his life is completely dysfunctional and he can not attend school or perform any daily activities. Thinking he may have chronic appendicitis, his appendix was removed almost 3 months ago; no relief in symptoms and a biopsy of both the lymph node and the appendix were "normal." He has had numerous blood and fecal tests as well as abdominal and pelvic CT scans and an abdominal US.
Avatar n tn Last week I suffered from appendicitis and my doctor cured me by administering antibiotics. Now have a relief the inflamation is gone. But from today morning I am suffering pain in the groin area which is similar to the pain I suffered for appendicitis I wanted to know that is the pain caused by Fungal infection or medicinal reaction which was provided for appendicitis. I have not experienced similar pain in groin area before and there is no blister or rashes.
