Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis or pancreatitis

appendicitis

Avatar n tn What you describe could be a number of things, including pancreatitis, appendicitis, diverticulitis, ... or something else altogether. This set of symptoms doesn't seem to be the type one can afford to ignore. Pls see a doc/urgent care right away. Hope you'll write again to let us know how you're doing.
Avatar m tn Exhibited symptoms can vary from a mild pain to a severe pain as in acute appendicitis; however, patients do not usually experience vomiting, fever, or gastritis. A rumbling appendix is inflamed, but not infected; hence, there is no need for emergency surgery. The pain associated with a rumbling appendix is usually restricted to the lower right abdomen, but sometimes shifts or extends to the upper right abdomen. Rumbling appendicitis can be treated, if diagnosed correctly.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar n tn The common causes for vomiting are gastroenteritis (infection), gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, systemic infections, appendicitis, intracranial hypertension, hepatitis, eating disorders, inner ear disorders, and certain medications. Angina or chest pain due to inadequate supply of blood to the heart muscle can produce atypical symptoms of vomiting. This is diagnosed with an EKG or treadmill test. Lung infections like pneumonia and bronchitis can irritate the diaphragm and cause vomiting.
Avatar f tn t develop fever or vomiting with my appendicitis, reason why it was hard to diagnose, especially because it was behind my ceccum (for 1 month doctors suspected ovary pain...until my appendix burst). Can this time be stump appendicitis and doctors mistake it for cysts again?? I'm scared...
872871 tn?1239861015 I have been having lower left side pain for three weeks now.I went to the Dr.'s office and the ER and had x-rays and CAT Scan and lab and all the said was that my white blood count was high.Any suggestions of what to do next or what it might be?I'm tired of the pain! The Dr.'s don't know what it could be.No nausea,or vomiting. And no fever.
Avatar m tn What makes the pain worse? Pain due to inflammation (appendicitis, diverticulitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis) typically is aggravated by sneezing, coughing or any jarring motion. Patients with inflammation as the cause of their pain prefer to lie still. Pain that is accompanied by heartburns or nausea is often due to dyspepsia or GERD.
Avatar n tn GI issues have been ruled out with the CT scan (appendicitis, pancreatitis, gallstones, obstructions, etc even kidney infections and stones as UA was clear). I wonder if anyone out there knows what else this might be. He is currently on Bentyl and Nexium from the PCP, and has a GI appointment today. I'm just very concerned that the GI doc will not find anything since the 'traditional' GI issues were ruled out.
Avatar f tn have you ever had your blood checked? have you had scans done? my husband has simular things happen but he been in pain 9 months and found out after colonoscopies and egd's that he has chronic pancreatitis? have you been checked for appendicits? it kinda feels like a rubber band being stretched through your stomach(well, at least thats how mine felt)? see if your appendix is ok? call the doctor for appt....
Avatar f tn You may need to get an endoscopy done so they can check out your stomach lining, gallbladder and pancreas. It could be gallstones, acute pancreatitis, gastritis, or maybe even something else. If its worse when you are eating, I'd suggest lessening, if not cutting out fats completely to see if that helps any. But I'd go see a GI.
Avatar f tn So my question is, is this appendicitis, or is this endometriosis? My anxiety is out of control. Could appendicitis take this long to develop? I am on Loestrin 24 (birth control) and my fever has gone away. The pain and nausea comes and goes. I've been going through this for about a year now. Please help me.
Avatar n tn The symptoms of gallstones may resemble other conditions or medical problems such as heart attack, appendicitis, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, hiatal hernia, pancreatitis, or hepatitis. Always consult your physician for a diagnosis.
Avatar n tn But letting it go undetected can lead to an infection of the gall bladder or pancreatitis which could derail the normal functioning of the pancreas and induce diabetes or worse pancreatic cancer. The surgery is minimally evasive as they use robotics via a few small incisions versus a large open incision.
