671285 tn?1292660161 Are my symptoms classinc signs of IBS? Stress? Or am I having appendicitis? I am scare though. The doctor cannot see me until next week. Dont know what to do. Feel sick.
Avatar m tn They bite into the gut wall when they grow or mate, and can lead to appendicitis on the long term. the pain is usually right or left or even underneath the belly button, and feels like a pinch with a needle or, if more severe, a hot knife. Get a scotch tape test done, best in the week after full moon (they are more active then). Good luck.
Avatar n tn with IBS and sent away, as in spite of the doctors frequent mention of IBS, I do not seem to have any of the key symptoms, and I also know that bleeding and weight loss are not typically associated with IBS. Any advice on how to have this conversation with the doctors, assuming they find nothing else revealing in the colonoscopy (which of course they might)?
Avatar n tn Hi For about ten hours now, I've have a dull ache that comes and goes in my lower right abdomen. It's not currently severe, just a dull ache for about five seconds every two or so minutes, not continuous. Anybody else experience this? I read that it could be a symptom of IBS/IBD, which would make sense as I'm currently being tested for those conditions. I'm just terrified that it's early appendicitis as I've never experienced it before.
5553333 tn?1369941048 I am supposed to visit the doctor again in a few weeks and I have been learning to control my IBS. Do you think IBS could be the situation I am in? Or does it sound like something else?
Avatar f tn It could be your appendicts or could be IBS.
Avatar f tn s almost always like transparent water or sometimes water transparent and only once, wiping after it seems thin yellow fluid on the paper, I am waiting on a ct with contrast dye result and the fbc bloods from about maybe a month or more agao now, but I do wonder is it maybe ibs or my guess one a and e diagnostician doctor said was a very good theory was chronic appendicitis as he said ah yes if it isn't my first choice gallstones then your theory of chronic appendicitis is a very possible cau
Avatar m tn I have not been able to specifically relate the pain or digestive issues to certain foods, though eating large meals or fatty/greasy foods tend to make me feel worse in general. Over the last 18 months, I've been to my GP, two different General Surgeons, a Gastroenterologist, a Spine Specialist, and a physical therapist.
Avatar n tn I have ibs and suffer from the most common symptoms of gas Diarrhea and constipation, but for the past month or so ive had severe what i thought as hip and lower addomen pain, it moves up towards the middle of my right side aswell, some days are worst than others it gets me to the stage i can barley walk, i have no severe vomiting but i do feel nauses most of the time, i lose my appetite and then it comes back again.. im not sure if its appendicitis or rumbling appendicits?
Avatar f tn Oh also I dont smoke or drink, and I used to workout but stopped and I dont eat as well as I should but will try.
Avatar f tn Hello it is possible that it could be celiac disease, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, appendicitis, or the most likely cause is gas. Most people aren't aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble.
Avatar f tn I recently had a CT scan which came back as negative for spleen, appendicitis, pancrease etc.... Ive also had several different blood and urine tests to look for infections, kidney stones and thyroid problems etc.. I did have a colonoscopy approx. 5 years ago which was fine and I had an endoscopy about 3 years ago. I do have acid reflux and in the past had hemmoroids, I'm otherwise very healthy and fit. There is a history of Diverticulitis in my family.
Avatar n tn I have been to the doctor numerous times in the past 10 years and was diagnosed with IBS. Despite having been diagnosed with IBS, none of the medication has ever relieved any of the symptoms. Last Sunday I had a bout of the sharp pains on my right side (7 out of 10) and lost my appetite. I thought it'd be best to try and sleep it off. The next day, the stabbing pains had been replaced with a dull, intermittent (from every three minutes to every four hours) pain.
Avatar f tn I have sharp abdominal pain to the right of my abdomen about 3 fingers width. It has been there for months and I mainly feel it upon touch. Lately I've felt bloated. I saw an obgyn and ovaries and uterus have been ruled out. My pcp wants to send me for a CT scan of the abdomen. Is she thinkining hiatal hernia possibly caught early?? I am thin, don't always eat the best, not pregnant (my son is 8) . She says its in the area of the ileocecal valve.
Avatar f tn Hi, About a month or two ago, I believe I had strained some muscles while working out. The pain didn't happen right away maybe one or two weeks afterwards. At first it stemmed from my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar f tn Either your son has swallowed the nose bleed and that is causing problems or there is a gut pathology such as IBS or Crohn’s or even celiac disease or lactose intolerance. The cause of nose bleed must be found out. It could just be heat or overactivity or bumping head or nose. Else it could be nasal polyp, a tumor, a foreign body or even allergic rhinitis. Please take your son to his pediatrician without delay. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I was just considering that maybe this would be a symptom of appendicitis, a rupture or potential burst? I always figured that the symptoms would appear and then the problem would occur, but I have been having these symptoms for a little less than a month, really. The thing is though I'm not sure if my symptoms are enough to match up with an appendicitis.. and it could be other things, maybe. Less severe problems. Anyway, I wanted to put this out there.
Avatar f tn Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, and constipation. Hence IBS, Crohn’s disease and chronic constipation should be ruled out first. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor for a referral to a gastroenterologist.
Avatar m tn He might reccomend you to go to a gi specialist for a colonoscopy or hit fiber and hope it goes away or just watch it for a few weeks to see what happens. Also he'll probably do a simple urine test to look for any WBC/RBC's kidney stone/infection that would suggest that. Hopefully it's something simple..i'd take it easy and not lift anything heavy until you rule appendix out or the pain goes away. Start doing some fiber and water and see what happens to your IBS issues.
Avatar m tn s been tested for Celiac disease, colitis, ulcers, food allergies, IBS, and has had 2 ct scans, xrays, endoscopy, and a colonoscopy. Every test has come back negative or normal. Low white blood count on every blood draw. One of the ct scans suggested mesenteric lymphadenitis, but we were told that should clear up in a couple of weeks. We're just shy of 13 weeks and we still have no answers. What else should I ask him to be tested for?
