Avatar m tn For a while now, maybe a week and a bit, I have had LRQ pain. It seems to move around, from the appendix area to the groin, and wraps around to the back and kidney area. As well, a mix of constipation and then diahrrea. I'm really quite terrified of it being appendicitis or worse yet, peritonitis. I have seen two health professionals, one at a clinic and the other in the emergency room, both of them saying its nothing, perhaps just a pulled or strained muscle.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn s my right side - nothing passes through there, right, or does it? It just ends in the appendicitis, the left side is the one that goes through. I've also had bad posture this week, I sit down in feutal position a lot because it makes me comfortable so maybe that's why my intestines are being weird or maybe it has something to do with the "blockage".
Avatar f tn There are numerous causes of right lower quadrant abdominal pain, of varying levels of severity. These include appendicitis, mesenteric adenitis, ileitis (e.g., Crohn's), colitis, kidney stones, kidney infection, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, ovarian torsion, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease, hernia, and/or cancer. You should see your doctor, as proper diagnosis depends upon clinical history, physical examination, and laboratory and/or imaging tests.
611648 tn?1230567509 Hello, Going by your symptoms four possibilities are coming to my mind.Firstly,it can be pelvic inflammatory disease which can be caused by an infection of the pelvic organs. As you are a female, so this possibility is high. It can also be due to fibroid uterus or ovarian cysts. Ultrasound abdomen and cervical swabs are needed to rule them out. Secondly, irritable bowel syndrome is also there. Diagnosis is made on basis of clinical evaluation. Thirdly, appendicitis has to be ruled out.
Avatar f tn Hello it is possible that it could be celiac disease, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, appendicitis, or the most likely cause is gas. Most people aren't aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble.
20925474 tn?1672552982 Hello everyone, I am French-speaking and I am Belgian and I use a translator. I come to seek help because no Doctor has succeeded in finding what I have been suffering from since 2018 and I have never been taken seriously because of my physical appearance so I will give you a summary of all the examinations I have did and who was excluded or discovered.

Avatar n tn Five and a half years ago, I started having horrible stomach pains. They were sharp and stabbing and got progressively worse, to the point where I couldn't eat or sleep. I finally went to the ER where they did scans and thought my appendix had burst. They planned an emergency appendectomy, but when they got in there they realized it was not my appendix, but there was a large mass of cells covering my appendix, which is what showed up on the scan.

Avatar n tn Have you been tested for Crohn's disease? And have they done MRI/CT scans, to rule problems in your intestines out? I've had the same pains as you've described, and am still waiting to find out. My CT scan revealed narrowing of the bowels. Have they ruled this out? I hope you're feeling somewhat better real soon!
Avatar n tn So also it can be a pain of appendicitis, where the appendix is placed behind the intestine. Ultrasound, CT or MRI of lower abdomen or whole abdomen would have ruled this out. The other possibility you can explore is Irritable bowel syndrome. The walls of intestine go into spasm often and cause sudden excruciating pain. It could also be pain of chronic intestinal obstruction relieved by vomiting. Maybe a barium study of the digestive systm will be able to diagnose the problem.
Avatar m tn Hi How are you now? Based entirely on the symptoms you posted I think there is a high probability of you having Crohn’s Disease. “Crohn's disease is a disease of the digestive system which may affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus. As a result, the symptoms of Crohn's disease can vary significantly among afflicted individuals. The main gastrointestinal symptoms are abdominal pain, diarrhea (which may be visibly bloody), vomiting, or weight loss.

Avatar n tn Hi Pamela, sorry to hear of your health problems. Has your doctor considered Crohn's disease? This is an auto-immune disease where the body attacks its' own tissue, in this particular disease, the large and small intestines. Crohn's usually, but not always, starts around the terminal ileum, the last part of the small intestine, which is situated next to the appendix. Appendicitis is usually suspected because of the location of the severe, debilitating pain.
48668 tn?1201543083 Both diseases are thought to be caused by an autoimmune system malfunction. Although this is just a theory in the study of Crohn's Disease, it would tend to indicate that a child whose autoimmune system attacks his or her pancreas cells may also be a candidate for the autoimmune system causing problems elsewhere. Also, some researchers in Crohn's Disease treatments tend to believe that bacterial overgrowth can be the cause of some of the inflammation.
Avatar n tn I was not familiar with "Perianal Abscesses" so I checked out a couple of sights. On one sight it did say that some people are more susceptible to perianal abscesses such as those that have: Diabetes, Aids or HIV, Crohn's or persons on medications that suppress the body's immune system, such as steroids (prednisone, methylprednisolone), or those undergoing chemotherapy for cancer ..........so I do not think that it is indictive of having Crohn's.
Avatar f tn Yes, you can have Crohn's and not have the frequent diarrhea, or typical results from blood work. Crohn's is an autoimmune disease. It isn't a "stomach" disease, as most think of it. My experience with it has been painful, and grueling, but I have had little in common with many who suffer with it.
Avatar m tn about 8 months ago i started to have pain in the lower middle part of my stomach which lasted for about a week i went to the ER and they did a ct scan and said i had swollen lymphnodes in my bowels and that something was inflammed and it mimicked appendicitis so i went to my dr and she did a bnuch of blood test everything came back fine then i started being very constipated i would feel as if i had to make a bowel movement and when i tried to go i couldnt so i would wait and wait usually within
