Avatar f tn I live in a very rural town in NW PA. and wonder what the rate of hiv is in rural america. Is this somewhere that you would consider a high risk area for heterosexual transmission of hiv? Is there a web site that talks about hiv in rural america or that gives the numbers?
Avatar n tn She claims that the practice of an adult bathing a 7 year old is commonly done in rural areas. Please confirm if that is OK and what age it should stop. The 7 year old has still not been circumcised. I am concerned that this has spillover effects on his being unable to sleep alone in bed, needs help with dressing and eating, cannot study by himself, etc. Otherwise, he is a charming friendly boy.
Avatar n tn You have mentioned that you were diagnosed with appendicitis. Was an appendectomy done? In this case I would suggest that an abdominal ultrasound may be done to ascertain the cause of the pain. A baseline urinalyis and urine culture may also be helpful to determine if infections or urinary tract stones may be present. I do not think the fungal infection has been causing the pain. Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated.

Avatar f tn t have a regular doc, since it takes a while to get in with a family practice, you could go to the county health department clinic as a walk-in and usually be seen the same day. If the pain goes out of control, obviously get thee to an emergency room... bleeding and pain is good reason to go.
5670884 tn?1374749288 My sister had appendicitis when she was pregnant. If the pain doesn't go away after a while, look up the symptoms of appendicitis and see if that sounds possible, and if so go to the doc.
Avatar m tn I woke up this morning and I had this minor pain in my lower right abdomen (about an inch above my hip bone) It's not severe or very painful and it doesn't hurt on it's own. I feel a minor dull pain in that area (Occasionally) when i bend over or stretch. When I begin to stretch, it will have a slight pain but when I extend all the way with my arms all the way up, the pain goes away and it feels fine.
Avatar m tn m a 19 year male college student, and I have had this problem for several years. At random moments, usually pretty rarely, I will get a sudden, sharp pain in the lower right area of my abdomen. It will cause me to panic for the brief second that it lasts (i'll clutch it etc..), because it feels really severe. It always goes away though, and since it's been a problem I've had for a long time, I don't really think it's a big issue.
Avatar m tn I know you will say I need checked out and I agree in my brain, but the other part of my brain wants to know if these long pain free periods over the course of 3 or so months without a perforation are typical of appendicitis issues? So, in summary, I am curious about the long course of this and the pain free periods. Thank you.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar n tn s, it might be worth checking out. Normally, the muscles in the wall of the stomach contract in a coordinated way to move food through the stomach into the small intestine. The autonomic nervous system controls this muscular action. Diabetes can damage the autonomic nerves. This is called diabetic autonomic neuropathy. As a result, the stomach loses it's coordinated muscular activity and doesn't empty the stomach properly.
Avatar f tn I'm not really sure if I'm in the right place her but I'm becoming concerned. Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort.

Avatar m tn Been wondering if it might be a version of Herpes? The problem is I live in rural Tennesse and there are not a lot of STD doctors around. How would I go about finding the right doctor? Been to over 6 with moderate to little results. Thanks.
Avatar f tn My obe also insisted they do surgery, saying in pregnant patients if in doubt they should operate. Finally they did surgery and it was appendicitis! My obe apologised to me that I had to suffer so long. Fortunately my baby was ok. Now, your case may not be appendicitis, but the pain needs to be properly considered and closely monitored. Are you having fever? If so this is an alarm signal! Do follow up with your doctor and be persistent.
9497408 tn?1404140019 On the surface, your symptoms sound like appendicitis. Your elevated temp, the referred pain, all points to that. Sometimes ultrasounds do not reveal the true issue - they are not detailed enough. Personally, I experienced appendicitis much like you are experiencing. The "twist" was I had a cyst in my intestine as well. It took surgery to locate the problem(s). No test - and I had them all - revealed the truth. Go to the hospital. They are probably thinking you are drug-seeking.
Avatar f tn Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?

Avatar n tn Normal bowel movements, no fever, no nausea no vomiting. I feel pressure in the area - not a painful pressure but sort of like something is pushing. When I push on the right side of my stomach i feel a swooshing almost like water. I'm away on business and very nervous this could be my appendix as treating it now is not really an option. Any advice? Does this sound like appendicitis?
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
