appendicitis

Avatar n tn For three or more months I have had intermittent sharp pain in my right groin, right where my femoral pulse can be felt. It occasionally wakes me up at night. Lately, I've begun having random, sharp pains in both my lower extremities. It's not muscular. I've had no injuries. Suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hello, The most common type of hernia in females is femoral hernia. It develops near the leg crease somewhat lower than inguinal hernia. It may be difficult to differentiate between inguinal and femoral hernia. Another hernia though very rarer called sciatic hernia can lead to bowel obstruction, sciatica, pelvic pain, back pain or ureteric obstruction. Clinical diagnosis of this condition is difficult.
Avatar m tn Hi went to docs with a lump in my groin where groin meets top of leg are and my doc was 99% sure it was a femoral hernia so had to see specialist at my local hospital, he checked me over and wasn't sure it was a hernia at all and has sent me for an ultrasound scan. The lump itself is soft and seems to fill up or vibrate when I feel it when walking and when i exert myself(lifting etc) it gives me occasional pain...
Avatar f tn I am a 21yo female, 5'4", 118 pounds. I'm gluten sensitive and lactose intolerant but other than some hay fever and asthma I'm a decently healthy person. I was diagnosed with a femoral hernia in October at the ER and was told that no surgeons would see me without insurance so I've just been trying my best to live with it. They told me it wasn't a very bad one though, so I should be fine so long as I didn't lift anything.
Avatar m tn Did you ever find a doctor in Michigan that believed in chronic appendicitis and removed your appendix? Did you find relief after. Your symptoms and tests to diagnose are identical to my 13 yr old daughter's.... and we have a history of chronic appendicitis in my family. My middle daughter, my sister and my grandson all suffered for 1 year minimum before it went acute and they had it removed. After, they were symptom free.
Avatar f tn i have pain in my right groin and right lower quadrant, i have already done appendicitis operation 8 yrs ago soi think its because of masturbation and how can i get relief from it
Avatar n tn I am going to make it my life-long goal to let people know my story. I TOO suffered with the exact pain you're suffering. I am about your age. I finally discovered I had a Femoral Hernia! It is in the "occult hernia" category--meaning they're the type of hernias that "hide". I went through the estrogen cream, EVERYTHING! This hernia invades the "femoral canal". The nerves that go to the urethra and the vaginal vault run in this same canal.
Avatar m tn It is not visible and it is deep where my thigh meets my body, which i read could be a femoral hernia. The lump feels to be about the size of an olive, and when i push on it and cough, it moves. Does this sound like a femoral hernia or something similar to what swollen lymph nodes would be?
4706518 tn?1358198536 Since surgery I have had pain in my stomach everyday and cant work in my job. In hide site I have found a Dr. that will remove the mesh as he is specialized in this field. The downfall is he is in Las Vegas and he doesn't except insurance. He has financing. Its Dr. Kevin Peterson. He has NIS group. NO INSURANCE SURGERY GROUP. Good luck I'll be interested if anyone has this removal. I would like to know the out come.
Avatar f tn I've also got a family member who went for a mesh procedure in a femoral hernia procedure. She just had it done and we're still watching. I'm not "on the scene" but I'll try to update this comment as I can. I know what you are talking about concerning the frustration in the mesh field of work and the legal influences that are accompanying this frustration. It didn't take a long time on a search engine to discover legal arguments.
Avatar f tn osteoarthritis, tendonitis, muscle pull and strain, femoral neck stress fractures, sports hernia or hidden/occult hernia of oblique aponeurosis, or Obturator or ilioinguinal nerve entrapment. You would need all or any of the following for diagnosis: Clinical examination by an orthopedic specialist, X-rays, blood tests, MRI or ultrasonnography. MRI of pelvis will not pick up hip pathology unless targeted at that. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Two surgeries have been done followed by chemotharapies.Recently hernia has been detected in abdomen. ca-125 level is very high but in ct scan there is no symptom of cancer. Doctors have advised for third surgery for removal of hernia.P lease suggest what to do in this case.
Avatar f tn and cancers they came back clear, had ph test with monometry probe is it a belt clip device in overnight that stated no hiatal hernia and also had barium meal thing that xray with chalky paste drink on a bed that moves upright and flat etc none except my first endoscopy camera came back with hiatal hernia and only other slight thing was that ph monometry probe showed very mild weaker swallowing in my osophagous but to date nothing gives an indication of anything serious weight is normal no weig
1103592 tn?1274753561 Got the surgical consult - He said they would do surgery to fix it after delivery. If it becomes a problem or very painful they are comfortable delivering any time 36 week & on. Still going to try for a vag. delivery even though it may make it worse - he said as long as they can push the bowel back in (after delivery pushing) it's not an emergency (just NOT comfortable). It's a femoral hernia- so not the same as the abdomen ones (what people usually get with c-section scars).
Avatar f tn for sure its not hernia...hiatal hernia produce heart burn and pain in stomache not right lower abdomen....other types of hernia are visible at examination..they dont need ct scan for diagnosis. in your case it can be something blocking the ileocecal valve as its a narrow passage connectng small gut with large one. it can be gall stone, worm, hard piece of feces called fecolith or a growth.
Avatar f tn Michael, I just want to start off by saying that I do not think that it is your appendix that is causing your problems. It sounds more like a hernia to me. A hernia would also give you the pain you are describing when you put pressure on your abdominal area. As for your other questions. There is no set age for when a doctor has to remove an appendix. It all depends on the condition of the appendix. In that I mean if an appendix ruptures it has to come out regardless of the persons age.
Avatar f tn I'm just curious to know if anyone has, or knows someone who has, had a hernia and delivered naturally? At my appointment the other day, my doctor told me he thinks I might have a small femoral hernia and in the excitement of hearing the heartbeat, etc, I didn't think to ask about whether it might affect our childbirth options.
Avatar m tn Dear Dr, 3 years ago I went through groin hernia repair surgery, since then I had pains in my testicle, my groin and in my inner thigh. After years of medications and treatments - I went to a surgeon that recommanded me a surgery of neurectomy. Month and a half ago I have passed this surgery and since then I feel great improve but the pain in my inner thigh left.
Avatar n tn A major nerve called the femoral nerve extends down the front of the thigh. Femoral nerve irritation can produce pain in the anterior portion of the thigh. It does not have to be a specific cut or even a direct injury. The femoral nerve is positioned very close to the area that an inguinal hernia would occur. One common risk factor of injury is lying on the back with the thighs and legs flexed ("lithotomy" position) during surgery or diagnostic procedures.
Avatar n tn I can not even sleep on that side or the pain is so intense in the morning. I think appendicitis would have ruptured by now and I have no fever. I am wondering if I either pulled a muscle in the abdomen/side or maybe a hernia?
Avatar m tn I had a lot of tests with this it was a big question mark basically, but the final verdict came after having an ultrasound showing all clear of gallstones, no cancers, also had two endoscopy cameras one a regular endoscopy the second endoscopy with a tissue sample looking for infections and cancers none were present, also had a barium meal xray tilt table test bleh lol, also showed no abnormalities no cancers and a ph probe with momentary probe pack clipped on my belt overnight that showed no hi
Avatar m tn I have had every nerve block available in my spine, in my pelvic region, and in my testicle. I have been on pain medication for over two years and have tried several nerve medications, (Nuerotin and Lyrica) to no avail. I am getting to the end of my rope with pain and options for treatment. My current physician associated with John's Hopkins seems to only be concerned with pain treatment and not curing the problem. Request any advice or assistance with this problem.
Avatar m tn 4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.
1040418 tn?1272542723 I am wondering if I may have a hernia? It is not extreme pain, but after I run, I have pain in pit of my gut...also, when I eat certain foods...I amy have GERD. Pain sometimes goes to all of lower abs...thanks for help.

649905 tn?1223940508 Would a MRI scan show a hernia or tissue damage? Would it show a problem in the femoral canal or hip flexors? What can I do to track down the source of this pain? The plastic surgeon seemed to believe that abdominalplasty could possibly alleviate this problem as my muscles are not meeting in the middle but are coming in at the sides. The separation is quite pronounced. Could diastasis recti be the true source of my pain?
