appendicitis

697148 tn?1235499341 The appendix can get infected and create lower abdominal pain that is more to the right, and is called appendicitis. Your right kidney is also in this area, but if you are urinating normally and have no other symptoms, that kind of rules out the kidney.
Avatar n tn You have mentioned that you were diagnosed with appendicitis. Was an appendectomy done? In this case I would suggest that an abdominal ultrasound may be done to ascertain the cause of the pain. A baseline urinalyis and urine culture may also be helpful to determine if infections or urinary tract stones may be present. I do not think the fungal infection has been causing the pain. Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated.
Avatar n tn Right side abdominal pain of a few days duration, associated with loss of appetite, nausea and occasionally vomiting, fever, feeling generally unwell in anyone between the ages of 9 and 39 is appendicitis, until proven otherwise. Even more so if you are male. This does not mean that appendicitis do not occur out side that age bracket. It is more common within the first three decade of life, and can occur at any age. How to know?
5274485 tn?1385860167 Some states take developmental disorders in BOTH girls and boys very seriously. I am thankful to live in one of those states. Despite this I do have to say that my daughter is the only girl her age at the clinic where she receives therapy and the only one in her autism class at school in Kindergarten. There is absolutely something to be said about girls needing more dxs.
Avatar n tn A few questions....1. Where do genital warts most commonly appear in females? I know it is possible, but is the mons pubis a common area for them to come up? I have white little patches of skin I just noticed recently there. Also 2. Are genital warts able to be seen even if skin is flat? The only time I can really see these bumps is if I pinch the skin together. All they really look like are white patches of skin. 3. How do genital warts feel to touch?

Avatar f tn Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, and constipation. Hence IBS, Crohn’s disease and chronic constipation should be ruled out first. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor for a referral to a gastroenterologist.

5670884 tn?1374749288 My sister had appendicitis when she was pregnant. If the pain doesn't go away after a while, look up the symptoms of appendicitis and see if that sounds possible, and if so go to the doc.
Avatar m tn m a 19 year male college student, and I have had this problem for several years. At random moments, usually pretty rarely, I will get a sudden, sharp pain in the lower right area of my abdomen. It will cause me to panic for the brief second that it lasts (i'll clutch it etc..), because it feels really severe. It always goes away though, and since it's been a problem I've had for a long time, I don't really think it's a big issue.
Avatar m tn I know you will say I need checked out and I agree in my brain, but the other part of my brain wants to know if these long pain free periods over the course of 3 or so months without a perforation are typical of appendicitis issues? So, in summary, I am curious about the long course of this and the pain free periods. Thank you.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar n tn s, it might be worth checking out. Normally, the muscles in the wall of the stomach contract in a coordinated way to move food through the stomach into the small intestine. The autonomic nervous system controls this muscular action. Diabetes can damage the autonomic nerves. This is called diabetic autonomic neuropathy. As a result, the stomach loses it's coordinated muscular activity and doesn't empty the stomach properly.
Avatar f tn I'm not really sure if I'm in the right place her but I'm becoming concerned. Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort.
Avatar m tn Im 17 years old about to be 18 in 3 months and I got off my period 6 days ago. I took plan B on the last day of my period which was december 25th and starting on the 29th i had soreness in what seems like right above the ovaries, a pain on each side of my abdomen. I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night.
Avatar f tn i am a 22 yr old girl, unmarried, i was having continuous pain for 2 days in my lower abdominal. today morning at 5 i had swear pain i went to the doc, they asked me for blood test, urine test n ultrasound, urine test showed some sign of appendix but ultra sound didnt, they sent me home n gave some pain killers! now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it?
Avatar f tn Im 10 weeks pregnant and got my appendix removed yesterday (saturday) they told me about the risks with the anastesia and baby, but they also told me that if i left it in and it ruptured id lose baby for sure. Anyone else have their appendix removed and had a perfectly healthy baby?
Avatar n tn Well i can rule out a kidney stone because i don't have any troubles urinating or nausea and i can also rule out an ovarian cyst since that's only in females. I'm just not yet convinced that it's appendicitis because the sharp pain only lasted a few minutes. Maybe even only a minute. The pain was pretty bad when it did happen though. I just don't think it was really anything. I have no other symptoms.
Avatar f tn My obe also insisted they do surgery, saying in pregnant patients if in doubt they should operate. Finally they did surgery and it was appendicitis! My obe apologised to me that I had to suffer so long. Fortunately my baby was ok. Now, your case may not be appendicitis, but the pain needs to be properly considered and closely monitored. Are you having fever? If so this is an alarm signal! Do follow up with your doctor and be persistent.
9497408 tn?1404140019 On the surface, your symptoms sound like appendicitis. Your elevated temp, the referred pain, all points to that. Sometimes ultrasounds do not reveal the true issue - they are not detailed enough. Personally, I experienced appendicitis much like you are experiencing. The "twist" was I had a cyst in my intestine as well. It took surgery to locate the problem(s). No test - and I had them all - revealed the truth. Go to the hospital. They are probably thinking you are drug-seeking.
Avatar f tn Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar n tn Normal bowel movements, no fever, no nausea no vomiting. I feel pressure in the area - not a painful pressure but sort of like something is pushing. When I push on the right side of my stomach i feel a swooshing almost like water. I'm away on business and very nervous this could be my appendix as treating it now is not really an option. Any advice? Does this sound like appendicitis?
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
