appendicitis

Avatar f tn No appendicitis but a 6mm Appendicolith was found and referral to general surgery next week.
Avatar n tn I have recently been experiencing right side pain and mentioned it to my GP. He sent me for a CT which confirmed mild appendicitis. Don't have typical appendicitis symptoms other than pain and some nausea. My doc says to get it taken out. I went for a consult with a general surgeon and he said he isn't 100% that's my appendix since I don't have all the acute symptoms. He said there is no such thing as chronic appendicitis and my doc says "oh yes there is". UGH...
Avatar f tn I had something like that done this morning n was cuz of kidney stone surgery but was Lazer they also told me if I didn't have done I could go on previous labor at my 19 wks as whether wait to pass the stones by myself cuz of the pain n medicine
Avatar f tn Just remember DO NOT let a general ob/gyn do endo surgery they do not know enough. My sister did not know that she should not let an gen ob/gyn do endo surgery and he caused a cyst to burst-- spreading more endo everywhere. (He did not tell her about the cyst bursting, she learned that when she got her medical records.) If you have anymore questions about endo you can always contact the endo association. Also my doctor told me that the endo could have caused my appendix to burst at any time.
Avatar f tn Omgosh! A few years ago i had appendicitis and had to have surgery however i was very early in my pregnancy. I was so scared but my baby girl was born healthy and fine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your baby tomorrow.
1233210 tn?1267684288 Anterior uveitis is the most common form of intraocular inflammation. In a general or comprehensive ophthalmology practice, most patients presenting do not have an underlying systemic disease; instead, 50% of patients presenting with inflammation have predominantly anterior disease caused by either trauma or, most commonly, an idiopathic postviral syndrome. Need a directed physical examination, appropriate use of office diagnostic procedures. from eMedicine Specialties.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
Avatar f tn m surprised your doctor just gave you drugs for an appendicitis-- true appendicitis almost always needs surgery. Have you had your appendix looked at since then? Ask for an ultrasound or a colonoscopy. In some really rare cases, an infected appendix can lead to infection elsewhere in your abdomen/pelvis, including muscles outside your digestive tract (which might explain the pain when running).
Avatar m tn Hey just had Acute appendicitis and had to have emergency surgery to remove appendix. Now I had a lump under my skin just above my elbow that is below my skin. it seems as though it is attached to my vein or just by the muscle. It does not hurt but I am worried sick it could be something serious.
Avatar n tn I am doing a little research on gallbladder removal & appendicitis association. Except for a couple of articles not much so far. Both that I did find indicated a fairly high frequency of appendicitis within 18 months of gallbladder removal. Hopefully, they are wrong, I have about 6 months to go.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar m tn For the last couple days I have been having aching type pain in my stomach along with the right mid/lower part of my abdomen (where my intestines seem to be). I went to my general doctor and he said it might be h plylori infection. He ran a test to check for that. Can stomach pain from h pylori also cause pain in the intestines (which is where the right sided mid/lower pain seems to be)? Also, about a year ago I had colon resection surgery for diverticulitis in my descending colon.
471949 tn?1236904026 Hi there. I'm very sorry you are ill. They should have checked your white count. What was that number? Can you describe how the pain progressed? Where did it start? Where did it move to? Where is it now? Are you still having bowel movements? What medication did they give you - antibiotics? I'm not an MD, but my husband started having abdominal pain, and by his description of the pain I told him we were going to the ER because he had appendicitis.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, there's no credible evidence that a macular pucker (aka epiretinal membrane, epimacular membrane) disappears on its own. Most cases don't affect vision much, so they don't require surgery. How much vision is restored by surgery depends on a number of factors, including the surgeon's skills and the presence/absence of macular edema. One of the very best vitreoretinal surgeons is Dr. Steve Charles of Memphis, Tennessee.

Avatar m tn The only way to know for sure what is wrong is to go to the doctor and have an MRI or CT scan. That will give them a better idea of what is going on. No one can know for sure what is going on, but that will give them a better idea.
Avatar f tn Day I had emergency surgery, my ultra sound came clear and Doctor suspected appendicitis. Same day I went to Emergency, they did CT scan, which just showed mass on right side. With transvaginal scope they confirmed it was twisted Ovary with big Cyst. Even then Doctors were not sure of Cyst source or extent, because even my cyst was twisted and hardened. Same day I had exploratory laparoscopic surgery. During surgery they found, there was no blood supply to ovary and cyst was orange size.
Avatar f tn The common abdominal causes are appendicitis, IBS, Crohn’s disease, umbilical hernia, cystitis or due adhesions if there is a history of previous surgery. Causes within the umbilicus include a boil or a fistula or abscess. The best thing would be to consult a general practitioner or PCP and try and assess what is the cause of your problem. Then proper referral for concerned specialist can take things further and get you proper treatment. Take care!
Avatar m tn Most people with appendicitis have severe pain worse than what we usually get with IBS. Although, as you must know by now, you can get severe enough pain from IBS to even keep you from being able to walk. You can get IBS pain anywhere in the abdomen, and the left side where the descending colon is, is typically the most common area of pain. I have had the pain in the area you are talking about. Two things can be going on that are more likely, if the doctor is sure it's not the appendix.
Avatar m tn I remember that I had a both a general surgeon and an obgyn for my surgery and I think that is because I was having both cyst and appendix removed. My doctors are the ones who made the call to remove both though. But, it seemed like they often worked together on surgeries. You should definitely ask about it.
Avatar n tn It was early stage appendicitis. The next day after surgery I was feeling expected pain where the incisions were. I took Norco painkiller. After a couple of days I noticed high heart rate when lying down, couple of times it grew so uncomfortable that I had to walk around a bit to feel comfortable. This has been now going on for almost 5 days and I feel almost perfect during the day, but when laying down at night and sometimes even getting up in the morning, it is disturbing.
Avatar n tn In some cases proteinuria may be present before surgery in case of appendicitis. In case there has been urinary tract infection during this period, this could be the cause for proteinuria. I would suggest that you get a workup done for this for early initiation of treatment. Best.
Avatar f tn I went to out of hours dr at night and they sent me to hosp. No sign of appendicitis. They found an ovarian cyst but not on the side that is sore. Dr said it is random pain...still have the pain tonight. Any ideas what it could be. I have no other symptoms. Should i go to gp?
Avatar n tn If it turns out to be that, surgery will be needed to remove the appendix. If appendicitis is ruled out, then it could be any number of things. But please do get him checked immediately if he hasn't been already. An appendix that is infected can rupture, or break open, into the abdominal cavity - which is a serious situation (I know, because it happened to me when I was 15 years old). Hope this helps!
5154898 tn?1374773319 OK, I've been worried sick since about 4 days ago. It all started when i had a muscle spasm beside my belly button (right side), it lasted a whole day. I woke up the next day with a dull pain in the same spot, nothing really painful, just enough to worry me. Now, my lower front (right side), my right side and back on the right side has been aching.
Avatar f tn Exactly 4 weeks later I developed appendicitis and had it removed via laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon said it was "messy in there". I have had no other symptoms suggestive of HIV. My concern is the appendicitis was due to lymphoid hyperplasia (swollen lymph tissue) caused from a viral infection (HIV) given it occurred so soon after exposure. It seems a bit out there to consider them related however I do see it as a possibility, but was unable to find any studies to confirm.
