appendicitis

Avatar f tn Tracy, if you've been dealing with this for some time after feeling like you strained something, it's time to check with your doc and make sure there isn't something more problematic than simple constipation going on. Back pain can be due to having fecal material in the large intestine pressing on nerves in the area of the spine, but that discomfort can also be due to an inflammatory process due to any one of a number of issues in the same area.
Avatar n tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/appendicitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20369543. This does not really sound like that issue though. How are you now?
Avatar f tn Exactly 4 weeks later I developed appendicitis and had it removed via laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon said it was "messy in there". I have had no other symptoms suggestive of HIV. My concern is the appendicitis was due to lymphoid hyperplasia (swollen lymph tissue) caused from a viral infection (HIV) given it occurred so soon after exposure. It seems a bit out there to consider them related however I do see it as a possibility, but was unable to find any studies to confirm.

Avatar m tn 4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.

Avatar m tn An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
Avatar n tn I am experiencing exactly what you described now today would be the 4th day... everyone saying I should be at the ER but I am terrified of hospitals. My pain constant in my back on the sides like the flank area and that's a constant dull ache it radiates to my abdominal but there's a sharp pain that goes straight through to the back Right side of abdomen two inches from my naval ...
Avatar n tn I have contact nausea and slight unsteadiness. I have had a CT of my head and a ECG of my heart to rule out anything extremely serious. At times the nausea gets soo bad i feel like i may faint. Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking. Then the pain gets very sharp and spreads to the left side and lower left of the back, i get hit by a sudden feeling of weakness and have to lie down.
Avatar f tn now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
Avatar f tn Im 10 weeks pregnant and got my appendix removed yesterday (saturday) they told me about the risks with the anastesia and baby, but they also told me that if i left it in and it ruptured id lose baby for sure. Anyone else have their appendix removed and had a perfectly healthy baby?
Avatar n tn See your OB-GYN and a Gastroenterologist. With appendicitis the pain normally starts around your navel and will move to the right and down, or vise versa so I don't feel it's that. But you do have intestines in that area, your bladder, and these are worth checking out. It may also be referred pain from your ovaries or fallopian tubes. Good luck with this and take care.
Avatar f tn 30 am with bad stomach pain (top middle), bloating, and gas. I went the the ER about 6 hours later and received indigestion meds. I felt much better outside of mild abdominal discomfort from gas still. Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating? Thoughts?
Avatar f tn Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
Avatar n tn An appendix that ruptures is a very serious and life threatening issue and can lead to death due to blood poisoning, also known as septicemia or sepsis.
Avatar n tn Firstly take the heat pack away,he must have a sickness bug my children had it three weeks ago couldnt even keep water down,it lasted for two days, tell himtojust sip water not gulpit and avoid food for the next seven hours
Avatar m tn If you are 18 year old male it sounds to me like you have appendicitis, Go to a surgeon tell him you are having problems passing gas and constipation and diarrhea and he will order a laporscopy but tell him to take it out no matter what. I had mine out last week and it I feel remarkably better, and I want to explain to people that the appendix has strange symptoms and will cause real damage if you don't get it removed. Remember contact a SURGEON in your area not a Gastro specialist.
Avatar f tn It feels like someone is stabbing me with a sword . I have heartburn, bloating, constipation (hard small pellets), and nausea. The pain seems to get worse at night, but is not completely relived by sitting up. Sometimes it wakes me up in the middle of the night. I have had pain in the center of my abdomen (where my belly button is located). I have been prescribed magnesium oxide, miralax, tramadol, and, omerzapole. Nothing relieves the pain.
Avatar n tn I went to the emergency room again and they finally did a scan and discovered that it was chronic appendicitis. If I were you, next time it happens I would refuse to leave until they gave you a scan.
7489440 tn?1442008376 I just remembered doing a lengthy paper on IBS and some issues are the same as appendicitis. So I was wondering should I worry or should the pain go away on its own if it IBS??
Avatar n tn d been suffering from a fever, lower/midline abdominal pain on my right side, and severe diarrhea for several days, and was told by my doctor to go to the ER to rule out appendicitis. Besides my signs/symptoms, the only abnormal finding was a slightly enlarged appendix in the ultrasound and CT. I was told to keep an eye out for things, and to go back asap if things got worse- which they likely would within a reasonably short amount of time.
727090 tn?1268839348 I just remember feeling sick and nauseous. I got up and tried to eat a few saltine crackers and I immediately threw it up. I knew something was wrong. I felt shaky, sick and had a pain on my right side and over to my middle near my belly button. I gave the baby to my 12 year old daughter and told her I needed to go to the ER and drove myself there. I called my husband, who was at work, and told him what was going on. They started running tests on me, including blood tests, MRI, etc.
Avatar m tn Given that my pains are not concentrated in the right and not that intense, does it seem unlikely to ne appendicitis? Could appendix symptoms drag on this long (it's coming up for a week). The pain has got no worse and if anything seems to be improving. Also, would appendicitis symptoms usually go after eating a meal? I'm extremely anxious and worried right now. Appreciate any advice!
Avatar n tn No diarrhea, no vomiting, a little constipated even though I drink lots of water and coffee. Went back to my surgeon and had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago plus a blood test to see if there's an abscess. Fortunately, everything was normal. But the pain and bloating are still there. Thank you in advance for your help.
Avatar n tn My suggestion to you...heating pad on your tummy, drink lots of plain HOT water, high fiber foods and NO TYLENOL. Pain meds will cause you constipation. Sounds like you are experiencing irritable bowels, if you have had alternating constipation and diarrhea, with bloating. I have had the same issues and acu pressure has helped too. Beginning on the right lower side of your abdomen, beginning massaging in small upward circles.
Avatar f tn As soon as she left the bedside, I told my ex I still thought it was appendicitis. The surgeon got there and heard the story, saw the white count, and examined him. He said it was gangrenous appendicitis and started an IV. Then after 6 hours or something he took out his appendix. So yeah, it can be confusing sometimes. The thing they most often confuse it with is diverticulitis. That can be even worse than appendicitis though.
