appendicitis

Avatar m tn Yeah it usually is and I wouldnt delay getting to your doc/hospital, however if you have no luck and its not that then consider, renal colic and kidney stones, gallstones/gallbladder as well as much more rarely a thoracic disc herniation at t8 to t12 would be overlooked by most docs as so rare.. I had the same thing and it turned out that I am in the one in two million people with thoracic hernations pressing on the nerves that innervate the right abdominal area!
Avatar n tn Good question...when I had a CT-scan they never mentioned gallstones...but 2 days ago they did a ultra-sound after an incredible amount of pain and found that I had them...so go figure.
Avatar f tn I have been having intermittent bouts of description would be a dull needle like feeling mostly right of my belly button say 2 inches beside maybe and on the less often bouts that pain can be feeling on the left side same distance from my belly button that does seem to hurt much more if it happens on that left side but it almost always occurs to the, right side, with this and or without this pain kind of best described to be like a dull knitting needle pressing into something deep, I have many t
676912 tn?1332812551 I think it has to do with gallstones and apendicitis..both of which are startlingly common during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn They did an mri and I was told that my appendix is fine but they did find gallstones. Afterwards I stopped being able to go to the bathroom and had not gone #2 since the day before ER 3days prior then my chest started hurting and it felt like heartburn which I figured it was because of the constipation. With the meds from the Dr. I finally went number 2.
Avatar n tn See your OB-GYN and a Gastroenterologist. With appendicitis the pain normally starts around your navel and will move to the right and down, or vise versa so I don't feel it's that. But you do have intestines in that area, your bladder, and these are worth checking out. It may also be referred pain from your ovaries or fallopian tubes. Good luck with this and take care.
8171031 tn?1399327634 At nineteen weeks, upper right side could mean anything from kidney issues to gallstones to appendicitis. Your organs are all squished together and compressed because of baby. Lower I would say it's a ligament issue. Good luck hope it's diagnosed soon and nothing too serious!
Avatar f tn Did they check him for gallstones? Pain around the shoulder area and ribs can be a sign of a bad gallbladder.
9310208 tn?1410859285 I had gallstones in my last pregnancy and they are horrible. Upper right side of your stomach could easily be gallbladder or appendix. Call your doctor/midwife first thing in the morning (or right now if your office has a 24 hour call line) and ask them. If it's your appendix you may need emergency surgery. If it's your gallbladder they can at least diagnose it and help you out a bit.
Avatar m tn I started over a week ago having pain on the right side of my abdomen and a little pain where the appendix is. I saw a doctor on Wednesday and he said its probably gallstones and not appendicitis at all...so I drank some apple juice and within a day the majority of the pain disappeared.
Avatar f tn You may need to get an endoscopy done so they can check out your stomach lining, gallbladder and pancreas. It could be gallstones, acute pancreatitis, gastritis, or maybe even something else. If its worse when you are eating, I'd suggest lessening, if not cutting out fats completely to see if that helps any. But I'd go see a GI.
Avatar m tn s immediate fever fast acting, I said to this doc, well sure I read could be chronic appendicitis, he said, yeah great theory, he said me telling him mum stated appendicitis is immediate rapd onset, he said no mate your gave a great one there yes your right there is something called chronic appendicitis which can belive it take years or months etc to become serious or critical, and yeah you may be right but i think it's potential gallstones or your less likely chronic appencicitis slow

10314769 tn?1409238579 I went to the er on Tuesday and blood work was good and sonogram looked great. Wouldn't they tell me there if they saw something else?
Avatar m tn In early November I had a visit to the ER due to pain on the right side of my abdomen (next to my bellybutton). I had 100.5 degrees temperature and had been nauseous all day. Appendicitis was ruled out via CT Scan. I was sent home with pain meds and told to follow up with my PCP and a colonoscopy was suggested due to thickening in colon. I had the colonoscopy in late December with no remarkable results. I have continued to run a low grade fever - 99.2 - 100.2 ever since.

Avatar f tn two monthsago had an episode of very acute upper right sided pain just under my ribs. Got steadily worse radiating to my back and shoulder. Felt very scared and it lasted for about two hours. The pain came in waves and was almost unbearable. Stopped quite suddenly but had a tenderness middle right under ribs (Which is still there) Had another attack two weeks ago , very severe again ,sweating nausea shaking etc.
Avatar f tn You should see your doctor, as proper diagnosis depends upon clinical history, physical examination, and laboratory and/or imaging tests.
Avatar f tn hurt worse to lay on my left side than on my right...lying on the left cause my right side to hurt worse.) and woke at 2am in severe pain. My husband gave me 2 advil PM and it eased the pain enough to allow me to sleep in a propped up position. the pain is not nearly as intense, but is still there all day today. I have not been urinating as much as normal, but figured it was because I haven't been drinking as much as I normally do.
2176548 tn?1340677817 My doc is ordering another Ultrasound cuz he believes I may have Kidney stones onto of cysts and now possibly Gallstones. I am waiting for an ultrasound to be done on Aug 20th! 338416 tn?1420045702 I don't want to be condescending, but there are diets to follow with people who have gallstones. I'm sure you are aware and most likely your primary gave you a list of foods to avoid, organic foods that are helpful and some remedies other than pharmaceutical (lipid lowering agents, oral dissolution of gallstones -- ie: Actigal) that could help ie: flax seed and tea.
Avatar n tn Have they looked at his appendix? I had the same type of thing. My stomach hurt off and on for about a week or so. The pain was in the top and more all over in the stomach - not at all localized int eh right side. The only reason I went to the docs was to get an excuse for work. I'm glad I did. My WBC were very high and they did an ultrasound and said I had an appendicitis. I went straight to the hospital.
1323549 tn?1276178147 s a coincidence with the other symptoms. She may have a virus, bacterial infection or something serious like a gallstones or appendicitis. What do you mean when you say she can "barely see?" Is it from crying? Where exactly is the pain located? When was the last time she ate, and what was it? How long has she been vomiting and is there anything left in her stomach? Any bowel changes? Any other symptoms earlier today or was it a sudden onset of symptoms?
Avatar f tn Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture. Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen is definitely required. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system).
Avatar f tn So a doc can have a feel of your tummy and around that area and see what they think. Could be something you need medication for so I wouldn't leave it!
