The pain first started at my appendix area. I had all the symptoms of appendicitis. I went to emergency and they ruled out appendicitis.
I had Constipation, gastroenteritis and IBS. Now, the gastroenteritis is gone, but the rest isn't.
I still have the same symptoms from the beginning.
My appendix area feels bloated. It now hurts so bad, I have difficulty and pain standing, walking or even sitting. When pressed on the appendix area, it still feels pain.
I hate to bother strangers online with my issues, but I'm desperately trying to figure out the best course of action without spending a ton of money. I don't have insurance, and I'm back in school and doing clinical rotations after a layoff, so missing days isn't something I want to do any more of. Thing is this issue isn't getting any better.
Oh, goodness, right lower quandrant pain is a broad discritption and without proper testing could really be anything from bad digestion and gas to aat worst appendicitis. It could be nothing, yes, and may go away on it's own. But if it's something more, only tests will provide answers.
While that will not cause weight, the appendix might have something to do with digestion and good bacteria in the gut. I have read that sometimes C-diff can occur because of no appendix. The reason I am research weight gain and appendix is because my daughter had appendicitis and the same thing happened to her. The reason I feel that the appendix works like a lymph node because I have primary lymphedema in my right leg and there is swelling. A lymph node in my leg might be damaged.
I agree that some people go to the ER and are dismissed. However, when someone says that they have been to the ER many times and that they doctors haven't been able to FIND anything wrong implying that testing has been done (as opposed to someone saying that the doctors don't aren't looking for anything) an appendicitis would have been ruled out. Also, the problem was most likely caused or set off by the back surgery which would make it seem strange for it to be an appendicitis.
Exactly 4 weeks later I developed appendicitis and had it removed via laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon said it was "messy in there". I have had no other symptoms suggestive of HIV.
My concern is the appendicitis was due to lymphoid hyperplasia (swollen lymph tissue) caused from a viral infection (HIV) given it occurred so soon after exposure.
It seems a bit out there to consider them related however I do see it as a possibility, but was unable to find any studies to confirm.
4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.

About a month or two ago, I believe I had strained some muscles while working out. The pain didn't happen right away maybe one or two weeks afterwards. At first it stemmed from my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right.
An appendix is usually on the right side of your stomach and you will usually run a high fever with appendicitis. However, if you are still concerned, you can call your doctor and ask to speak to a nurse.
I am experiencing exactly what you described now today would be the 4th day... everyone saying I should be at the ER but I am terrified of hospitals. My pain constant in my back on the sides like the flank area and that's a constant dull ache it radiates to my abdominal but there's a sharp pain that goes straight through to the back Right side of abdomen two inches from my naval ...
I have contact nausea and slight unsteadiness. I have had a CT of my head and a ECG of my heart to rule out anything extremely serious.
At times the nausea gets soo bad i feel like i may faint.
Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking. Then the pain gets very sharp and spreads to the left side and lower left of the back, i get hit by a sudden feeling of weakness and have to lie down.
now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it? one of my friend got operated last month, she was having the same pain but ultrasound didnt show anything even then she got operated n now is fine!
30 am with bad stomach pain (top middle), bloating, and gas. I went the the ER about 6 hours later and received indigestion meds. I felt much better outside of mild abdominal discomfort from gas still. Now the next day my lower right stomach is pretty tender, nowhere else, just lower right side. Should I be worried about appendicitis? Could it be tender from extreme gas and bloating?

Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
My daughter has just been diagnosed with dysautonomia. We have been going to a gastroenterologist for months and had endoscopy's and a colonoscopy with no answers for her chronic constipation and nausea, now we know it is caused by the dysautonomia. Does anyone have an answer that will help her with constipation and digestion? She has to take a ton of laxatives just to go to the bathroom at all. She eats very little and is a vegan.
I have MS and one major problem I have is GERD, hiatal hernia, and gastroparesis. I have finally found relief for the constipation that goes with this. I now take 2 omeprazole a day, 4 domperidone--a motility drug, and a Zantac before bed. I have tried ginger capsules and all kinds of natural supplements, plus tums, etc.
Any suggestions? I have had a bezoar when digestion just stopped, gall bladder out--infection in that.
I feel like I have morning sickness all the time!
Today i took a bm and it was bloody . Like bright red . And at the time is was difficult to pass but i pushed it out way too fast . No itching or anything but when i wiped there was blood . At least a spot as big as a nickel . Bright red . And there was spots of bright red blood on the stool but not mixed . Ive been experiencing contipation and i have had no change in diet . Idk what it could be . Could i have hemorrhoids ? There's no growth outside the anus .
Most of the time some foods come out undigested - i do have IBS and have terrible gas and bloating.
Welcome to the gastroenterology community! What do you mean by "weight over a 150 pounds to boot"? Do you mean that she needs to loose 150 pounds to be at a normal weight? How long has this been going on for? Has she seen a doctor about this?
My 10 year old lab mix has eaten 4 whole stuffed jalepeno's and now she isn't feeling very good, what can I do to help her?
As soon as I swallow food some days my abdomen above my navel will feel like there is a big bubble of air or gas in it. Tolerable but yet discomforting. Flatulence and feel like passing a stool but not ready yet. Anyone who has gone through this and offer some great solid advice?
Cramps in relation to bright red rectal bleeding may be suggestive of a partial colonic obstruction and very rarely suggest cancer .The possibilities that may need to be considered include GI motility issues as seen in IBS, infections, inflammatory bowel diseases, growths/ masses etc. You should seek consultation from a gastroenterologist to consider the possibilities mentioned above. Have a fiber rich diet. Once a specific cause is identified, it can be managed accordingly.
