Common Questions and Answers about Angiography technique

angiogram

Avatar f tn Another question doctor which is better for diagnose flourascen angiography or OCT angiography ?
Avatar n tn I would recommend that you get your test performed at a center of excellence, which performs over 500 per year, because this is a fairly new technique and does not have a widespread level of quality control.
Avatar f tn 3-D time-of-flight MRA of the circle of Willis was obtained without contrast. FINDINGS: MRA of the circle of Willis demonstrates a hypoplastic right A1 segment. Redemonstration of a inferiorly and medially directed 3 mm outpouching which probably reflects an aneurysm arising from the inferior aspect of the supraclinoid right internal carotid artery. This is not significantly changed compared to the prior study.
368646 tn?1208393887 One technique is with dopplar imaging and a software program. Sound waves are bounced off the blood vessels as they contract and expand. Looking at a picture only provides you with snapshot.
293157 tn?1285873439 s disease, brain tumors, and the effects of drugs on brain growth and metabolism. The technique is also useful in evaluating metabolic disorders of the muscles and nervous system. Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is another variation on standard MRI. MRA, like other types of angiography, looks specifically at fluid flow within the blood (vascular) system, but does so without the injection of dyes or radioactive tracers.
Avatar f tn This dye accumulates in the brain blood vessels and can be seen on the CT scan. An MRI is a better imaging technique. MRA 9Magnetic resonance Angiography) is still better. Have you considered or ruled out migraine ? Do you have nausea and any other problems ?
Avatar n tn Angiography or arteriography is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the inside, or lumen, of blood vessels and organs of the body, with particular interest in the arteries, veins and the heart chambers. This is traditionally done by injecting a radio-opaque contrast agent into the blood vessel and imaging using X-ray based techniques. Diastolic non-compliance refers to the heart filling phase impairment.
Avatar n tn Hi. my father who is 67, recently had severe chest pain for a whole day. Angiography was done, and the doctors suggested a bypass. Can the professionals here have a look and tell me what the report says in simple english language? Thankyou. Coronary Arteriography and Left Heart Catherterization (due to a picture report, the first paragraph is faint. I have tried my best to copy as it is..
Avatar f tn My Grandmother has been detected with a blockage in heart, and its not getting well by the use of medicines. Her Doctor is suggesting Angiography now. Her age is 81 by now. I wanted to take other Doctors opinion about this case.
Avatar n tn It is important to know your medical history for correct interpretation of your MRI results. In magnetic resonance angiography a technique called flow-related enhancement like 2D and 3D time-of-flight sequences is used where most of the signal on an image is due to blood that recently moved into that plane. In your report it says there is no such flow seen in posterior transverse sinus and no flow noted in other areas of brain as mentioned above.
Avatar m tn Troponin T and Troponin I are accurate and are only released by cardiac muscle. If elevated, then they usually suggest angiography because there is a very high possibility that MI has occurred. Troponin also remains elevated for up to 14 days. Should you go for Angiography? Given the results of the test, I think the question is really "is it worth the risk not to have angiography".
Avatar n tn But she was moving fine, until 2 weeks back she had Angina attack and we got her Angiography done yesterday which revealed that her one of the artery is blocked over 90% near the beginning. Docs recommend her to go for Stent implant. Now seeing her past history of ASD,and low platelets count. Would you recommend to go for it or not? Any risks involved in that?
Avatar n tn On the basis of this cardiologist advised to get CT coronary angiography. The result of the CT coronary angiography as given below: 1.Eccentric calcific in the RCA and distal LAD causing mild (20-30%) luminal narrowing. 2. No evidence of hypo perfusion or perfusion defects in the resting first pass myocardial enhancement. Now our cardiologists has advised to get catheter angiography to rule out further. Please advise me what should me my course of action.
Avatar n tn He was undergone a Treadmill test, a few weeks ago and the Doctor observed borderline positive Treadmill Test and suggested an Angiography. He undergone Angiography a couple of days ago and the report said that the Right Coronary Artery is 100% blocked. According to the Cardiologist, who performed Angiography, the blockage is old. But, my father has no pain (Angina), no fatigue and other common symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease. He’s perfectly alright.
Avatar n tn An angiography will give the doctor a better look into what is going on inside of your heart and arteries. It is a tool used to diagnose, and give the doctor a picture of what needs to happen for your treatment. I hope this helps.
1655492 tn?1302059565 Around 5 years back had some pain in left arm and went through total checkup including Angiography at Max new Delhi. No blokage or any other diseases were found. In my ECG i have a constant T-inversion but it does not change. Now I am having a problem of irregular heart beats. I exercise but not constant. Can run 4 kilometers withot problem, but at times my heart feels like throbing and heart beats also go to 120. I am taking Vallerian tablets for stress relief.
Avatar m tn Is it advisable to go for angiography check up as six years have passed post surgery? Are there any side effects after angiography? My physician has recommended Angiography check up as life of stent is normally 10 years .I shall be pleased to receive your recommendation and advise.
Avatar n tn calcific vessel. Normal. LAD: calcific vessel, moderate stenosis in mid course. minor osteal disease at the orgin of D1 & D2. LCx;Mon-dominant. minor irregularity proximally , critical disease in mid segmet. 1st OM has moderate disease in its proximal segment. RCA;Dominant. spotty calcification. diffuse minor disease proximal to mid segment. PDA has moderete/ subcritical osteal disease.
429171 tn?1205560206 MR angiography stands for Magnetic Resonance Angiography. It is similar to MRI, with the difference that it is specific for blood vessels. I has a suspicion of a vascular insufficiency. Do keep me informed about the EMG / NCS.
