907968 tn?1292622204 I just got a refill of my Carvedilol (3.125mg) I take two pills in the morning and two in the evening and it has been this way since August '09. I read the side effects just out of curiosity and I had nothing better to do and what I found was, "Check with your Dr. as soon as possible If you experience cold or numb legs or feet or unusual leg pain". And it goes on to say "Contact your Dr. immediately if you experience....(lists what seems like 10,000 things)...

Avatar f tn The headaches and rash are very likely side effects of Plavix. I assume you are not taking them now, and only took a high dosage before the procedure. The effects should wear off very soon.
Avatar n tn Hello Padma, Sorry to learn about your dad. I had a CT angiogram for heart this week. Compared to a regular angiogram or catheterization , the CT angiogram can be considered a noninvasive procedure. However, in your dad's case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
Avatar m tn The only true test, which is a procedure, is the angiogram. My mom had the nuclear stress test and was told that it was not bad and a few months later she was totally plugged in two main arteries and about 99 percent plugged in the other. Have you had an echocardiogram yet? An echocardiogram can check the heart valves.
Avatar m tn An angiogram is an invasive procedure and a health checkup is typically a history and physical with your healthcare provider. Can you please give a little more detail?
Avatar m tn Unruptured cerebral aneurysm can be investigated with cerebral arteriogram or angiogram. A doctor inserts a long thin tube into an artery in your legs and guides it through your blood vessels to the arteries in your neck that lead to your brain. A specialist injects dye into the arteries, which creates a map of your arteries and the aneurysm on xrays. CT can reveal blood flow in your brain and show aneurysm location.
Avatar f tn I am very worried about the angiogram and any negative effects that could result from having it. I am in my late 40's and probably in perimenopause. I am also prone to anxiety and don't handle stress very well. I am not sure how much experience the doctor has with this procedure. I hope you can help me decide my best option.
Avatar m tn I doubt if any medication associated with an angiogram would be in the best interest of the patient or doctor. I understand your question is subsequent to the procedure, but if it occurs subsequent there could be a risk of having a coughing spell during the procedure. I have never heard the contrast dye or IV has caused a cough, but some individuals under specific circumstances could have the coughing episode as you describe.
Avatar f tn my dad had an angiogram last tuesday. He developed a lump about 2 days ago (one week after the procedure), with a little bit of pain. This morning, he was doing some household cleaning and began bleeding from the incision, about 10 drops all together. After the bleeding stopped he noticed that the lump grew to the diameter of a quarter, but does not rise above the skin very much. He said the pain was very minor and now he is feeling no pain at all.
Avatar n tn m going for my third. side effects from my operation are being extremely tired. Waking up from the operation means all you wanna do is sleep. i know this may sound gross but when needing to get up from your bed and go to the bathroom, you can't even walk. browsing becomes appear 3 days after, n you're groin and arm, they seems to go away after 3-4 weeks. after each operation i felt fine for 3 months, then each time my heart would play up again.
Avatar f tn discomfort is far less by having the wrist Angiogram, over the Groin Angiogram. Now has ANYBODY here had ANY of the side affects, that I am currently suffering & is this normal on DAY: 4 days, because I am SERIOUSLY over going to GP's, hospitals complaining, if this is indeed normal. As the hospitals here are stretched to there limits, and wait times can take around 8 hours. Also people a lot worse of them my signs listed here. I am a heavy smoker, obese & not fit.
Avatar n tn I had a vein that was closed after a bypass procedure and they looked for 30 minutes in a standard angiogram procedure to try and find it. At one point they believed they had, but a CT angiogram found the vein and it was in a totally different area.
Avatar f tn You better check with your doctors, I am not sure about the potential damage due to the radiation dose that you will take during the procedure. Also if they discover blockages in your coronaries, I do not know about the risk of the medication that you will need.
Avatar n tn Because he had so much pain in his groin after having the first procedure, I did not want them to go in his other side but they did anyway. I don't know what the outcome will be. I am worried if his artery will be weak and if it will heal properly. How is your husband? Did he have a good outcome?
Avatar f tn I have just been scheduled for an angiogram and I'm scared to no end I have a 3 year old son I love to death same as my soon to be wife. I'm so scared something will go wrong during the surgery how coming are complications? Also my ej is 73 is this bad?
Avatar m tn Im scheduled for a ct angiogram for shortness of breath with dizzyness.i saw a differnet cardiologist for a second opinion and he feels its ideal because of the ongoing shortness of breath im experiencing with meals and excersis. In the past iv had three ct scans for other health reasons not heart related. my concerns are iv had three ct scans and this next one makes it four, The amount of just one ct scan is tolerated by the body but 4 ct scans sounds excesive to me and so im really concerned.
Avatar m tn There is a difference between an angiogram and angioplasty. Angiogram is a diagnostic procedure! Angioplasty is therapeutic meaning treatment. Usually, or almost always the diagnostic procedure (angiogram) is performed before there is treatment.
1325052 tn?1292962860 side effects depend entirely on what medications you are taking. the procedure itself is painless and easy. how successful depends on your age, your egg quality, sperm quality, etc. Your RE should be able to give you statistics based on your situation.
Avatar m tn t have a number on risk or severity, but simple recovery will have to take place, but best I can recall other than having to be driven home and not drive for the rest of the day, I had no after/side effects.
Avatar f tn I've recently had a 24 hour monitor, echo, renal scan, chemical stress test and the doctor said it showed that I have PVCs and PACs and that we should do an angiogram. Is that enough reason to do an angiogram? Would that suggest that I'm not getting enough blood to the left side of my heart? I feel fabulous and have no symptoms except occassionally I feel the PVCs when I'm tired, stressed or have had too much caffene.
Avatar f tn After I had an emergency Angiogram after a Radical Hysterectomy - nothing was found to be wrong with my heart. Now that I am home I realise there was a nerve cut which the procedure was done and now I am numb on the right side - groin area and my right labia. I have a great deal of pain - much like that felt with Shigles (I expect) the skin is very tender and I even have difficulty wearing clothes.
