Avatar m tn Hi there. Unruptured cerebral aneurysm can be investigated with cerebral arteriogram or angiogram. A doctor inserts a long thin tube into an artery in your legs and guides it through your blood vessels to the arteries in your neck that lead to your brain. A specialist injects dye into the arteries, which creates a map of your arteries and the aneurysm on xrays. CT can reveal blood flow in your brain and show aneurysm location.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with a 4mm cerebral aneurysm and just went for angiogram ct and I am waiting the results I am a nervous wreck. I was also diagnosed with chiari and cervical disc disease . How do they treat cerebral aneurysms ?
4186651 tn?1357830957 Doctors diagnose the condition by ruling out atherosclerosis and looking for certain typical imaging signs through CT-angiogram, angiography, color dopplar, and MRI. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar m tn He was admitted in hospital due to fever where aneurysm may have potentially ruptured, seized for 3 hours, lot of blood in his brain, went through coiling surgery, had 2 angioplasty to control cerebral vasospasm. As of today he is moving his right part of the body, left side, off the ventilator(breathing by himself) still cannot track us with eyes, not sure if he can hear....Any insights or expert prognosis is appreciated....

359574 tn?1328360424 I had an appt with a neurosurgeon Monday. He would like for me to have a cerebral angiogram so he can see a better picture of my 5mm aneurysm that was on the MRA taken by my neurologist. Then he will help me decide whether it should be watched or treated, if so how, and whether it could be the cause of my eye pain. The neuro-ophth sticks by her dx of TN and doesn't think the aneurysm is related since it isn't where it could touch the trigeminal nerve branches in the cavernous sinus.
Avatar f tn Grammy5680, I feel your pain. My cerebral angiogram was May 16, 2013, and I am still dealing with horrible pain in my right leg and groin, which wakes me up at night. In June, my Neurologist performed an ultrasound and discovered a pseudo-aneurysm and then had to perform an ultrasound guided compression to 'irradiate' it (make it stop). Three months later I remain in great pain. This afternoon, I went to a Vascular specialist who performed another ultrasound.
Avatar n tn I am a 30 year old female, just had a 4 vessel cerebral angiogram and was diagnosed with a 2mm aneurysm on the right side of the brain. I was told I would have to be followed every 2 years to make sure it didn't grow. Is this the normal time span for follow up? Also..I am very active, I run quite a bit and lift weights. Is this still safe for me to do? I'm not sure what, if any, effects there would be. Any advice would be helpful.
1203296 tn?1265601280 I had an MRA and MRI of my Cervical Spine prior to the Cerebral Angiogram. I failed a color blindness test, passed the VEP, had some abnormal results with my EMG and Nerve Conduction Study. My results for my Brain MRI and Lumbar Puncture were still out. During a trip to the emergency room, due to increased weakness, they did a CT, EKG, X-rays and more blood and urine tests. In addition to all of this, my numbness seems to be spreading throughout my body to include my bowels and bladder.
847433 tn?1243009652 I had an MRI done about a month before the surgery along with a cerebral angiogram about a week after the MRI. I do have a picture of the aneurysms from the MRI which I could show you but I don't think I can attach it to this message. The MRI was very clear showing the aneurysms but the angiogram was 100% better, it showed them in a 3D kind of way. If you would like me to send you the MRI pictures, let me know where to send them and I would be happy to do it.
Avatar f tn I have had neither at this point. I see the neurosurgeon in 2 days and am going to inquire about those tests.
Avatar f tn hello, i'm a 36yr old female incidentally dx with a fusiform/dolichectasic cerebral aneurysm. It is tortous -serpentine 1.5cm x 0.5cm and at first Docs. thought there were two fusiform and/or saccular lesions. I had a head CT after complaints of headaches, foggy brain, decreased concentration and fatigue. I have had an MRIw/wo contrast ,MRA and a CTangiograph. but now the neurosurgeon wants to see an angiograph via catheter through my groin. My Q.
848718 tn?1257138801 A few weeks ago, I started having weird facial sensations out of no where. The left side of my face was prickly and then started feeling like I'd been numbed by a dentist. I told my internist about it, and she ordered another brain MRI, this time on a 3T machine. I kind of hoped that maybe the stronger machine would show more than the 1.5T MRIs I've had in the past. She also ordered an MRA at the same time.
649926 tn?1297657780 is sending me for a cerebral angiogram and wants to re-evaluate the M.S diagnosis. Could all of these symptoms / tests be one disease and if not what are your thoughts like why the angiogram? Please help, I feel like I am back at ground zero. Thank you for your time and input.
Avatar n tn The doc puts the device up through the groin and into the brain like an angiogram. If she is having this procedure, she is very lucky. There are not many docs that are trained to do this procedure and there is a small window of time that the procedure can be done after the onset of the stroke. Good luck to your sister in law and your family!
Avatar n tn was able to get the spasms on video and pictures during an angiogram. The problem I have is that not just a portion of the artery spasms the whole artery on both sides of my heart spasms, the Doctors have said this is very rare and are trying to treat with medication. The meds make me very ill, and unable to cope with simple day to day activities. Does any one know if there is a surgical procedure or any thing else that can help this problem.
469349 tn?1217606941 After complaining of pulsatile tinnitus, extreme headaches, blurred vission, red eye...I had MRA..MRI with and w/out contrast...carotid ultrasound...ct scans ... and an angiogram that led to 8 coils embolization to left jugular vein on April 23rd. Avatar n tn I am 59 years old and started having T.I.A. symptoms 6-8 months ago. I have had every test you can imagine, C.T., MRI, Cerebral angiogram, Blood work, ambulatory EEG which showed muscle spasms in several of my blood vessels in the brain. The doctor has put me on Depokote 3-4 weeks ago and I am still having siezure like symptoms (which I failed to mention in the beginning). I am ready to call the Fox network and ask them to put this situation on "House" so they can fiqure it out!
