I understand your fear for your son. My nieces weren't given this drug but another and both did grow. One is average height now and the other is a bit above average. Have developed a heart rhythm disturbance, shortness of breath, edema of hands and legs/feet since being on Anastrozole. How worried should I be? Should I consider discontinuation discussions with my Dr.?

I have been on Anastrozole for year, 4 more to go (5 ys.) I have the worse Joint pain, stiffness, hurts to walk, get up from chair, I get out of bed hurting, I ache everyday. My skin and stays so dry, my hair grew back after chemo, but is lifeless, thin, etc. I do not like this Pill and want to discontinue, but my Oncologist said it is doing me more good, to keep taking it. This pill is really aging me, dry wrinkly skin, no energy, cant walk and move like I want to.

The oncologist switched me to Anastrozole but the Anastrozole failed. My mom passed away at the age of 97 from omentum cancer. We didn't know she had cancer until 2 months before she passed. It's a very slow growing cancer. We had no idea and had never heard of omentum cancer before but we were later told It's a metastasis from the ovaries. My recent telehealth appointment with Sloan-Kettering the oncologist suggested exemestane Hormone blocker. Wishing your mom the best.
If you've had Hashimoto's for that long, have you also been on any replacement thyroid hormone medication? If so, what medication, dosage and for how long?
Have you had Free T4 and Free T3 tested to determine actual thyroid hormone levels? If so, what are their results, with reference ranges?
I've read that there's a connection between breast cancer and thyroid disease, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.
As of right now we are holding off on meds. He is growing but still just a little each year. He hasn’t hit a growth spurt yet but I’m hoping he does very soon. My son is 4’6” now and I worry so much that he is not going to reach anywhere near his mid parental height. How tall is your son? We have seen an endocrinologist who thinks anastrazole would be a good way for him to get closer to his potential, but I am so scared to put him onedicines just to gain a few inches.
My periods returned 10 months later but have been very irregular, cycles from 5 weeks to a 2 month and a 3 month cycle. I have had enormous problems with intermittent fatigue, muscle aches, painful breasts, mood wings (PMDD), hypertension. I was fatigued during the hormonal tx but the present fatigue does not improve with rest.

My son is on GH for GHD. Also did 2.25 yrs anastrozole since bone age was slightly ahead. Now only on GH. Age 15.5, bone age 13.5-14. Has all the puberty markers for tanner 4: pubic hair now starting a line to navel. Has to shave a couple times per week but only few hairs in beard area, voice deeper but no prominent adams apple yet. A year ago at endo appt we were told he didnt have to endure anymore testicle size checks. I assume that means they are near adult in size.

during ovulation your chances of conception are highest.
It is seen that pregnancy only occurs if intercourse occurs within the 6 days prior to and including ovulation. The best timing of intercourse in order to conceive is day 10, 12, 14 and 16 (in case of late ovulation) of a 28 day cycle.

Thank you for answering my question. No,she is not on chemo therapy,she's on Faslodex250 mg.shots,Anastrozole 1 mg,and medicine from the doctor for itching and dry skin, plus a cream or lotion they put on her alot. I compared medication she was on before this itching started and
what she's on currently.....not much difference,just more pain meds,asprin,
and breast cancer medicine.
I have been taking Anastrozole for about two and half years for stage 1 ER/PR positive breast cancer. About a year after I started taking the drug, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes that is not particularly well controlled, even though I take two different prescriptions. A few months after that I was diagnosed with high cholesterol. For that I now take Lipitor, which has lowered the total cholesterol quite a bit.
Do you have more symptoms during your menstrual cycle? I seem to notice a bit more numbness and find myself dropping things during this time. I wonder if it is because my body temperature seems higher at that time. I was just wondering since I have been dropping things all day! Have a great 4th everyone!
ve noticed that my GM flares up more than normal right before and during my monthly cycle... I always have a chronic draining wound, but it heals over with a thin layer of tissue and recently I've noticed right before my cycle that it fills up (with a large amount of fluid) and bursts through leaving a deep hole/tract that takes over a week to heal.
s possible for it to get fertilized in the uterus at all. You should read about the menstrual cycle and get familiar with your own cycle so you know about the time that's greatest for you to get pregnant. So if you don't want to be you can avoid sex during that time or if you want to be you know when is best for sex.
