amoxil side effects in babies

Not to keep rambling, but just an update. I stopped taking the Amoxil yesterday because I don't like the side effects of lightheadedness. Right now, it doesn't hurt to bite down, but the bone under my gums above the tooth is sore to the touch, and it feels like I have a lot of soft tissue puffiness in my jaw and inside my mouth right now, plus my lymph nodes are still swollen and hurting.

sounds like you still have your 'bug'. I react adversely to ALL medication and consider myself an 'expert' on side affects (tongue in cheek) Amoxil makes me feel sick in the stomach but never experienced the other things.You need to take them for 5 days to see if they are going to work in my experience. If you still feel crook stop them because they aren't going to work. Give it a bit longer.

For some people who are allergic to amoxicillin the side-effects can be deadly. If you take this drug again, the reaction could be worse, so you need this drug listed as an allergy for you forever. A friend had unprotected sex with a lady he had known for quite a while now, many days later he started discharge and experiencing acute penile itchiness. He took some Amoxil that was prescribed to him for a previous sinus infection, and the itchiness reduced drastically, the discharge stopped too. I would like to advise you not to chew on the numbed side as much as on the other side, as this trigers the nurve. Take daily tablet of B complex. Avoid sleeping on that side. This will go away. No panic ok!

2 doses of antibiotics (500mg amoxil, 3/day, 7 days ... then pms-azithromicin (5 day treatment) ... sort of helped ... but not fully resolved ... noticed inflammed, swollen/irritated papillae under tongue (both sides of tongue and also under front of tongue also). Salivary glands swollen. Not resolving ... getting chills every so often ... feeling cold every so often also ... trying to see an ENT ..they are so busy in Canada ... approx 2 months to see one .... Help !!!

I would go to the ER due to the swelling going in to the glands in the neck. It sounds like she has celulitus. Do not put any heat on her face, you can use ice. I hope she feels better.

I am a 27 year old smoker who has been smoking a pack or more a day for the last two months because of ptsd. In the last week I have had throat problems, and it feels like quarter sized sores or something in the lower part of my throat..Every time I swallow it hurts. Two weeks ago, I had strep throat and the dr. prescribed Amoxil twice a day and I felt much better. This feels nothing like the strep throat I had before, and it's constant.

Thank goodness depression is not one of the side effects I have. The only time I have ever taken Benadryl was in the hospital prior to blood transfusions.

What I found interesting, was that after looking at my favorite top 5, increase and decrease in libido was not even mentioned although they were quick to note side effects such as depression, vaginal dryness and legathy. Even the official website for Arimidex itself and the "largest known site for the most comprehensive list of side effects" doesn't touch libido...at all. Hmmm However, women taking this medication tell a different story.

Do the new drugs come with their own side effects besides the ones that soc come with? Not sure if I asked that right, I'm still waiting for everything to come together but if the new meds come with even worse side effects than one might already get maybe that's another reason to treat now.

I am still in treatment, but I have read that many people deal with side effects for up to 6 months after they finish. It takes a while for all of that stuff to get out of your system, and then your body has to re-learn how to function without it. Be patient with yourself.

Hi. I am on week 60/72, second round of treatment. I was really really sick after shot for first few months and then this resolved and became tolerable at least. I now find that I am having these same significant side effects later in tx. This didn't happen last round, but I went 48 then. Anyone else have this happen?
