altace hct side effects

Hi folks! As many of you know I am on metoprolol tartrate 25 MGs b.i.d. for my PSVT. Even though I'm on the lowest dose I do get quite a bit of side effects as far as being overtired and dragging. My cardiologist now has started me on verapamil because my BP has been running high. I'm just afraid this is going to make me even more tired and dragging. Is anybody on this combo and if so how have the side effects been?

With all blood pressure Medications, you will get tons of Side effects ! Toprol is one Nasty medication, that packs a punch ! I was on it for over 6.5 years straight ! it was bad !! Zocor is for lowering cholesteral down - however it too has bad side effects.. combined you must be in a living hell ! the daily Confusion , and focus and not being Alert - is a toprol side effect for sure ! Hows your Hair.. has it thinned out yet ? and have you Gained any Waight yet ?

I don't know if these are symptoms of a condition or side effects of some of my meds, so can someone help? I take Norvasc, Altace, Lexapro, Crestor, AndroGel, Doxycycline Hyclate, and Advair 250/50. I have been on the first 4 for years. The last 3 have been added within the last several months. I also have Severe Sleep Apnea, but I use my APAP religiously. AHI is usually <4, but will on ocassion sneak up to 5.

as I didnt have this happen before.. not even when on toprol or diovan. but did have worse side effects from them ! have you ever had anyone with these problems or symptoms , that is on verapamil or maxzide ??

I've been on Benicar HCT 40/12.5 for 3 years, it's the only BP med I've been on and it has worked wonders with no side effects. My BP is down to 110/70 from 150/90 and as I said, I have had absolutely no side effects to date. For me, it's a great med, but maybe not for you. There are many to choose from, just keep working with your doctor to find the one that works best for your situation.

My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!

I did consult with an Ayurvedic Doctor, who prescribed some compounds, non toxic, no side effects. Had multiple stents (4) placed four (4) years ago, two in LAD with no side effects and good nuclear and stress test results over this period. Am currently taking Plavix/Aspirin/Coreg/Altace. Need arthroscopic repair on knee but concerned over cessating of Plavix. One cardiologist recommended ending Plavix entirely, second (same practice) would rather wait for a large study about to be completed. Suggestions?

I am pretty constipated sometimes even after as much water I drink. I have been reading alot on the diovan hct side effects and come to find out that all of my problems are from it. I am going to have to find a new bp medicine. I sincerely thank you for your time to reply.

Vet is suggesting epogen but I have read Epogen can have side effects and can quit working for an animal anywhere from 1-4 months of treatment. I am enquiring about an iron supplement to try first instead of injections, b/c her HCT has not follow under 20 as of yet . Vet said it was not at crucial stage as of yet so would an iron supplement be ok to try right now , of course with the ok of her vet ?

I am on High blood pressure medicine (Altace, which some sites do list tingling and leg weakness as side effects, though my GP does not think so). My Neuro did all the blood work and that is normal (Lyme, ANA, CBC, B12, ESR, CAT Scan) He is somehow asking for a month wait to order any MRI or other test. Does this fall within the McDonald criteria for diagnosis and that is why he is waiting??? Should I be concerned with this and pursue other Neuro?

I am on Benicar HCT 40/20 mg as well, it is a great drug and has almost no side effects. You make it sound like you may be having some anxiety attacks as a result of your experience. One of the things you get with anxiety attacks is a release of adrenaline which can cause flushing on the face, back and upper torso, it's very common and most likely causing your issue. Try to stay calm and mention the anxiety to your doctor as they can treat that with meds as well.

That works for me. But man oh man, I cannot run out of the beta blocker without servious side effects. Maybe in this case using both would help more.

Hi, I had a second ablation about 9 months ago and it apparently was successful because I have been in normal sinus rhythm since then. the problem I'm experiencing is with my heart rate. since the ablation proceedure my heart rate elevated to 100-110 bpm. my EP prescribed cardizem cd and it is keeping it under control now. the side effects are what's causing me problems. my toes and lower legs are feeling numb.

Why is my systolic blood pressure still high when I am taking Altace. My diastolic blood pressure is normal when I take Altace. Why the difference. Could I have angina since I have had pain in my chest around the heart area and in the middle of the chest. Also, could I have arterialschlorsis from the high systolic blood pressure?
