Allegra medication

Common Questions and Answers about Allegra medication

allegra

Avatar f tn Hi! Congratulations! If you were my patient, I would advise you to take the absolute minimum medication that you can get away with during the first trimester especially. BUT having said that, Allegra is pregnancy category C which means that it CAN be used in pregnancy if the benefits out weigh the risks. Hope this helps!
1402935 tn?1281958699 I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. Are these medications the same? This discussion is related to Post-Nasal cough?.
589762 tn?1330207135 I am almost 13 weeks pregnant and called my dr to see what i can take.... he called in a rx for Allegra for me( i have tried Claritan and this does NOT work)..... is this safe.... I know he probably would not have called it in for me if he thought that it wouldnt not be.... But i have done some research and its a class C drug during pregnancy...... any of you ladies taken allegra during pregnancy???
Avatar n tn If this is due to an allergic reaction to the medication (allegra), other effects such as itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue may also be observed. It would be best to inform your doctor about this. This could also be fordyce spots or hirsuties papillaris genitalis. Fordyce's spots are small, painless, raised, pale spots or bumps that may appear on the shaft of the penis.
Avatar f tn You can take clararin , zertec and Allegra for non drousey allergy meds. I have really bad hives this pregnancy and have to take claratin every other. As for headache I don't think there is anything other than tylonol and heartburn sux tums only work for me for a second.
Avatar f tn It sting was better in 4 days and that was with working in my boots on it the 2nd day after I got stung. I also used the allegra anti itch cream. Helped tons!
Avatar n tn For several mornings I have to clear my throat, and the roof of my mouth is very tender, when I try to clear nasal passage through mouth I have severe bleeding, this area is very tender and raw feeling. I have to apply pressure bandage to stop bleeding. I take Allegra allergy medication, and Nasacort nose spray. What can I do to stop tenderness and bleeding, and could this be infection?
Avatar m tn I would try some OTC allergy meds like Claritin or Allegra. If you can afford to (sort of pricey at $20 for a 2 week supply) I would get Claritin-D or Allegra-D. They have an antihistamine as well as a decongestant. You have to get them from a pharmacist (behind the counter) and show your ID. I take Claritin-D daily for the same symptoms you have. I get bad headaches at night and my nose gets stuffed, with sneezing and runny eyes.
453255 tn?1205792176 Hi, You could in fact consider an alternative and possibly stronger anti-hstamine medication than allegra / fexofenadine. If your symptoms still persist, you could talk to your doctor about a short course of steroids and see if it helps with your symptoms. A short course of steroids would not be associated with the side effects of steroids. Let us know if you have any other doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing. Regards.
Avatar f tn when I was between 15 and 23 (around there anyway) I used OTC allergy medication frequently as most if not all of my friends had cats and I was suffering badly seasonally. By frequently i mean almost daily for up to a month at a time in the spring and summer. I remember vividly (as i was at my cousins wedding outside) I took some medication and apparantly forgot I took it and double dosed. I felt quite tired/weird dizzy though this wedding so I obviously overdosed.
Avatar m tn In the first place Zyrtec tends to make you drowsy and Allegra tends to perk you up. It would be pretty weird to take them together. I take Zyrtec daily and when my allergies act up I take a single dose of Benadryl which is short-acting. that works well for me.
Avatar f tn s when I decided to try the Allegra for the Paxil, problem. Just to let you know, I ended up taking 1/2 of an Allegra and the symptoms went away again. I woke up this morning feeling fine. The zaps usually start late in the day and are not bad. Just to reassure everyone....I have a doctor appointment Monday morning at 9am!!! I will not, however, take another Paxil! Thanks for all you help and input..
Avatar f tn Your symptoms do sound allergy like, so I think it would be worth trialing another round of allergy medication and prilosec. Another option is to try a different allergy medication since the allegra didn't seem to work the first time. You should discuss this option with your doctor. Another option would be to see an allergist. He or she may be able to help you determine what is triggering these attacks. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar f tn I have really bad allergies and was wondering if I could take over the counter allergy medication? My nose is itchy, eyes are watering, I'm constantly sneezing. It's getting super annoying. I attempted to contact my OB but she never called me back. Does anyone know if I can or can't. Thanks in advance!
Avatar m tn Three years ago, I went thru this test and everything was okay but I had some sort of allergy after one day with quite some swelling on face ( Edema) and had to take a shot of steroid and Allegra 180 for 3 to 4 days. I was givena lot of pressure lowering medicine as part of procedure. Is this kind of reaction known ? If I have to test again, what should I do. I also learn that it isnthe same dye used in Angiography ??? I am not heart patient now.
Avatar m tn No she does not smoke , we went through a complete health check up including a chest x ray and all parameters are normal , no history of lung cancer in family , we met a doctor and he prescribed taxim-o and allegra -180 for 3 days and now the cough has gone away , is there some other test or screening which i need to do for her?
Avatar n tn Loratadine is considered a placebo by many doctors (and many patients that I have talked to). Zyrtec and Allegra are good choices. Since Allegra just came OTC, it will be much more expensive the Zyrtec generic. I take Zyrtec. Take care and feel better. God bless.
Avatar m tn Something alarming happened today. I took two allergy pills around 10:00pm. Around 12 pm I had a baowel movement. The stool looked... fluffy. Not diareah (-sp?) like, but spongy. There were two white things floating. When I looked closer I realized they were the allergy pills I took. It was Allegra D. Could this be the reason they haven't been working like they used to? I mean, they hardly looked like the outer coating was gone. Should I go to the doctor? Be alarmed? That was kinda freaky.
Avatar n tn Allegra, Prilosec and Flovent (one puff a day.) I have not taken the Allegra for two days to see if this would help the dryness, but it has not. I do have an infection under a tooth where I had a root canal a few years ago. I finished the antibiotic for the infection about a week and a half ago and still have a slight swelling around the site of the infection. Also, it is dry where I live due to the furnace running, and I have been using a humidifier.
Avatar f tn Benadryl is safe.
Avatar f tn I would sit tight till they open. These are such new drugs and only your Dr can give you the green light. You don't want to risk SVR unless you know for sure. .....
Avatar f tn I was OK to take Allegra. Ask your Dr. But I know Allegra is safe as well as benadril. And claritain. When in doubt ask a Dr.
