11803947 tn?1430842645 I have really severe allergies and benadryl is not doing it for me. Today I woke up with a bloody nose. My eyes are so itchy and watery. My throat hurts a lot and etc ... I dont like taking anything while pregnant but I can't handle this anymore. Any natural remedies ?
Avatar m tn Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar f tn I've been using allegra as well. I used it before getting pregnant. It was the only brand that ever worked for me. I am trying local honey as well, but have never had a sweet tooth so its difficult for me. My doc gave a list if ok meds for different symptoms. Maybe you can ask the office for something like that.
Avatar f tn My midwife said to watch out for meds with a d in the name (ie allegra d, claritan d, etc) but that most without the d are okay to use on occasion.
Avatar f tn Is it ok to take allegra D while on zoloft? I also get botox shots to the back of the head for pain. Is it ok to continue them? Ive only been on zoloft for 2 wks.
Avatar f tn m allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude. My sister had a baby about a year ago, she's allergic to tylenol as well and her doctor told her other medicines she can take that wouldn't be harmful to the child. She can't remember what they are tho.
Avatar m tn Something alarming happened today. I took two allergy pills around 10:00pm. Around 12 pm I had a baowel movement. The stool looked... fluffy. Not diareah (-sp?) like, but spongy. There were two white things floating. When I looked closer I realized they were the allergy pills I took. It was Allegra D. Could this be the reason they haven't been working like they used to? I mean, they hardly looked like the outer coating was gone. Should I go to the doctor? Be alarmed? That was kinda freaky.
Dog by the time I got to read your reply I had already purchased a product suggested by live chat pharmacist Ronda R...she said Allegra D or Claritin D(generic) and local Walgreens sold my wife Wal-itin D........contacted my Dr. and he also stated the same as you 'I would suggest not taking pseudoephedrine with metoprolol. It could elevate her heart rate. Loratadine by itself would be fine.
Avatar m tn If you can afford to (sort of pricey at $20 for a 2 week supply) I would get Claritin-D or Allegra-D. They have an antihistamine as well as a decongestant. You have to get them from a pharmacist (behind the counter) and show your ID. I take Claritin-D daily for the same symptoms you have. I get bad headaches at night and my nose gets stuffed, with sneezing and runny eyes. Since starting Claritin-D, I no longer have that problem unless it wears off before I go to bed.
Avatar n tn I'd be interested to know what input you get about this. I have been having what seem to be allergy episodes -- nasal congestion, watery eyes, clear mucous -- for a day or 2, then it's gone. I don't use decongestants as I have a history of Afib, pac's & pat. My first episode, I woke up with Afib and ending up needing to be electro-converted. I am abut ready to see an allergist, as I can't identify a trigger. Is the omeprazole a proton pump inhibitor for reflux?
Avatar n tn I asked my pharmacist today because I have the same allergy issues - je said Lortadine OTC is perfectly safe (Claritin) just NO Sudafed or Psuedaphedrine (Claritin D or Allegra D). He also said my Flonase is safe. I take both on bad days, but I also diffuse OnGuard Essential Oil which helps tremendously as well. Hope that helps you!
Avatar f tn I had allergies really bad at the begging of my pregnancy i got allegra d 24 hours and it helped out allot and my baby girl is healthy as can be
Avatar m tn Also do these basic blood tests Vitamin D. Vitamin B12 and Ferritin. Out of these Vitamin D or 25-hydroxy Vitamin D3 test is very essential as over 90% of hypothyroid people are usually low on this.
589762 tn?1330207135 i am not pregnant, but i have horrible allergys as well. i asked the pharmacist what i could take if i was pregnant ( i take it everyday so for the tww i wanted to know) anyways he showed me in the pharmacy book that benedryl is ok, i was skeptical but he showed it to me so i read it and believe it. hope this helps!
Avatar f tn No only benedryl while pregnant! Take regular amount I think it's 2 but just read to make sure on the box! That's the only one safe during pregnancy!
Avatar f tn Pregnancy Category D is a stronger warning than a pregnancy Category C classification. A pregnancy Category D medicine may still be given to a pregnant woman if the healthcare provider believes that the benefits to the woman outweigh the possible risks to the unborn child. Ativan was given a pregnancy Category D rating because of problems in animal studies. These studies suggested that Ativan may increase the risk of miscarriages and various birth defects.
Avatar f tn I was told that I could take clariton or allegra both over the counter for my allergies.
Avatar f tn Question is what do you think can be done and what I can do about stopping Allegra D; if I do I will have a sinus infection within one week or less. I have been on Allegra D all year round for about 4-5 years. Also just in the past 7 months I have been experiencing an awful metallic/chemical smell in my sinus, once in awhile, some days I do not smell it.
Avatar f tn I have really bad allergies and can usually get away with just Zyrtec but this year they are way worse and my doc told me to switch it up and try Claritin or Allegra the Allegra seems to work the best when I also take a sudafed but don't take the combo one just plan Allegra and plain sudafed.
Avatar f tn I recently developed a cough that contains a bright green mucous. I was diagnosed with a sinus infectiona couple weeks ago and prescribed doxycyline and a z pack. I started feeling better so I stopped taking the antibiotic. I then began to develop fluid in my ears and a stuffy nose. I took a decongestant and stopped taking my daily allegra. I seemed to feel better for a few.days. I've never had a fever or headache with any of this.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am sorry about the trouble your hubby is having. I took two antihistamines during treatment. Benedryl and Allegra D. The "D" part is important because it is a decongestant. It is available as an over-the-counter drug in most states. However, it will also keep some people awake especially when they first start taking it. I took it for a long time prior to treatment and it doesn't bother me anymore but still. Your hubby should ask for help with getting some sleep.
867954 tn?1356900863 I've had chronic sinus infections pretty much for years. I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc.
