Common Questions and Answers about Allegra d dry eyes

allegra

Avatar n tn They also get really itchy, but i use allergy eye drops to help that. However, my eyes still continue to get swollen and dry. I am currently taking Allegra-D and Singulair for my allergies. My doctor had prescribed me to Pata-a-Day Eye Drops as well, but they became too expensive and weren't working very well, so i switch to an over the counter brand. My medicine is obviously not working very great either. Does anyone know of an effective treatment that will help me with this? Thanks.
11803947 tn?1430842645 Today I woke up with a bloody nose. My eyes are so itchy and watery. My throat hurts a lot and etc ... I dont like taking anything while pregnant but I can't handle this anymore. Any natural remedies ?
Avatar m tn If you can afford to (sort of pricey at $20 for a 2 week supply) I would get Claritin-D or Allegra-D. They have an antihistamine as well as a decongestant. You have to get them from a pharmacist (behind the counter) and show your ID. I take Claritin-D daily for the same symptoms you have. I get bad headaches at night and my nose gets stuffed, with sneezing and runny eyes. Since starting Claritin-D, I no longer have that problem unless it wears off before I go to bed.
Avatar n tn I'd be interested to know what input you get about this. I have been having what seem to be allergy episodes -- nasal congestion, watery eyes, clear mucous -- for a day or 2, then it's gone. I don't use decongestants as I have a history of Afib, pac's & pat. My first episode, I woke up with Afib and ending up needing to be electro-converted. I am abut ready to see an allergist, as I can't identify a trigger. Is the omeprazole a proton pump inhibitor for reflux?
2143641 tn?1396678143 I don't know of any such relation. Try to use preservative free eyedrops (Artificial Tears). Ciao, Timothy D. McGarity, M.D.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
Avatar m tn Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
Avatar m tn Also do these basic blood tests Vitamin D. Vitamin B12 and Ferritin. Out of these Vitamin D or 25-hydroxy Vitamin D3 test is very essential as over 90% of hypothyroid people are usually low on this.
Avatar f tn I had allergies really bad at the begging of my pregnancy i got allegra d 24 hours and it helped out allot and my baby girl is healthy as can be
Avatar m tn My symptoms react to the hot temperatures and it gets pretty hot in Phoenix. Does he do the nasal rinses with a water pik? Also has he tried Allegra-D? Allegra-D eliminated my symptoms, but it gave me terrible backaches. However, not everyone has this reaction.
Avatar m tn Something alarming happened today. I took two allergy pills around 10:00pm. Around 12 pm I had a baowel movement. The stool looked... fluffy. Not diareah (-sp?) like, but spongy. There were two white things floating. When I looked closer I realized they were the allergy pills I took. It was Allegra D. Could this be the reason they haven't been working like they used to? I mean, they hardly looked like the outer coating was gone. Should I go to the doctor? Be alarmed? That was kinda freaky.
Avatar f tn I am having band allergies, from itchy and watery eyes to sneezing, coughing! Men, name it, I have it. Am 21wks pregnant now, yay!! But What can I do? Is it safe to take meds for it? If it is safe, what meds will be good?
Avatar n tn I guess I needed to up the Valtrex when I get really congested along with a Sudafed/ Allegra D to dry out. There is a blood test for the Herpes 1 which I was positive for.
Avatar m tn There is no way I can tell without examining your eyes. Dry eyes is very common, sometimes hard to diagnose, 10 times more common in females than males and aggravated by many medications including antihistamines, diuretics, estrogens and antianxiety medications. The FML is obviously not curing the problem. Read the possible side effects and consider stopping till you see the ophthalmologist.
Avatar f tn Bad_Obsession makes a really good point kim - it's true, we don't really feel anything when we're on those pills do we? And I believe I read somewhere that opiate use can "dry" you up so to speak, which can explain the dry throat feeling a lot of us addicts get, and the dry eyes as well. I'm sure it's related to the pills. And like I said to you earlier, I think you should think about having the procedure done.
Avatar m tn We are currently traveling, since around 6 days ago my wife suddenly had a allergic reaction to something causing her to break out in red spots (without bumps) on her arm joints, knee caps, foot and hands which itches and swells. She has been taking claritan D and benedryl but that helps only a little. Yesterday she went to the ER and they gave her an IV with an antihistamine and anti inflammatory corticosteroid with 2 days worth of the same in pill form.
Avatar f tn My doctor actually told me that allegra was fine to take as long as its the regular kind not allerga D. But I didn't take it all of the time... N my baby is perfectly healthy, benadryl is good to take too.U should ask ur doctor n see what ur comfortable taking Bcus everyone is different.
Avatar f tn I rushed in to see him the next day and after checking my eye pressure and looking into both my eyes he said I had severe allergies which were affecting my eyes and suggested I also take a decongestant. I use the lotemax quite often but today again, I have pain in my left eye and it's also a little teary. I just saw my regular doctor on Thursday and told me to continue to use the flonase which does NOTHING for me with regards to decongesting.
Avatar f tn I have been getting treatment for asthma for over three years now....neublizer w/xopenex...flomax, advair, asthmanex, to name a few...I am still coughing like crazy. I had allergy tests and have been on Allegra and a nasal spray....no relief. It appears that all of a sudden my throat is dry and has a "catch" in it and I start coughing and then water pours out of my eyes and tons of mucous pours out of my mouth.
Avatar f tn If you have some of the above symptoms, plus you alternate with hypo symptoms such as weight gain, constipation, depression, dry skin and eyes, hair loss, muscle pain, brain fog and migraine, rashes or hives, heartburn and GERD, then get the TGab and TPOab antibody tests for Hashimoto's. Also, get an ultrasound of the thyroid. People with thyroid disease are commonly low in B12, iron and D3 vitamins. Low D can cause terrible neck cramping and muscle spasms all over the body.
Avatar f tn antihistimines can dry the eyes and maybe this is causing you problems with your contact lenses!
Avatar n tn My son also has similar symptoms to the previous post. He was treated for a sinus infection early Sept. , then had immunizations T-DAP, then on Allegra-D for allergies, right after taking the allegra-d he had a dry cough and his trroat felt "funny" ticklish thenhard to swallow 1st night. Day2---Then next morning woke up itchy and had what looked like scratches on his shoulder, by mid-day he called from school and said his eyelids were swollen and his chest hurt.
7639611 tn?1392877261 The skin all around my eyes is also red, irritated, dry and flaky. Oh, and my nipples are cracking. I use a humidifier, and I've tried applying Allegra cream, Vaseline, and Neosporin. I've also been taking Allegra orally. I wash my sheets, vacuum, and keep my living environment clean. I know I need to see a dermatologist but I am wondering what might be wrong with me.
Avatar f tn I was OK to take Allegra. Ask your Dr. But I know Allegra is safe as well as benadril. And claritain. When in doubt ask a Dr.
Avatar n tn What is the best antihistamine for allergic eyes? I am experiencing worse eye allergy than sinus allergy this Spring, and I think it is due to tree pollen in this area of Texas. I have found chlorphenaramine maleate and benadryl do not help.
Avatar f tn t seem to be doing the job. I am a stuffy, sneezey mess with watery eyes half the time. And I need to function so Benadryl is not an option unless I am able to sleep all day.
Avatar m tn The second GP said that this is almost certainly an allergic reaction because of the itching and the bilateral manifestation. I have since started Allegra-D, which has relieved some of the itching but has not done anything for the redness. The redness in fact seems to have increased slightly. I have had eye allergies and other allergies in the past, but nothing of this nature.
