Sometimes I use plain Sudafed(no antihistimine in it) and plain Mucinex together when I am out of Mucinex D. Every time it takes 2-2 1/2 weeks to recover, but I am able to recover with no dr. visits. I have done this for a year now with good results. Now that I am well again, I am back on my zyrtec and regular medicine regiment.
Or I get prescribed mucinex, which makes me irritable, unable to sleep properly, and have horrific nightmares or allegra, which gives me hives. I have tried everything possible over the counter, but nothing works. My left ear is stopped up too now as well. I have used the neti pots and sinus rinses too.
t help, I talked to the doctor, they told me to take mucinex and sudafed. Took those and still stuffed. Took antibiotics thinking it was an infection and I received no results. I am 5 weeks pregnant since yesterday and wondering if it has anything to do with the pregnancy. Has anyone experienced this, if so, what did you do that helped?
Any mucinex meds will help and start taking Allegra it's a allergy medicine. My dr told me to take these I been sick for about a month and I'm 37 weeks. Drink plenty of fluid also, like orange juice and water, hot tea honey and lemon might help you also. Your Sore Throat You Can Use That Spray For Your Throat OR Cough drops.
Is it safe to take both Allegra-D and Zyrtec. In short, I suffer from allergies. I find that I feel best when I take a single pill of Allegra-D in the morning and a single pill of Zyrtec at night. In part, I have been doing this because I haven't had to go to the doctor (or Canada) to get more Allegra D so I can take it twice a day. I was wondering what the possible side-effects, besides fatigue, are of the regimen I'm taking? I've felt much better since beginning it.
I experienced congestion, cough, and laryngitis a day or two after exposure to large amounts of hay and agricultural lime. Taking this into consideration, I'm a bit skeptical as to whether or not it was a cold or just an alergic reaction. The symptoms have drastically decreased. My nose is still half-way stuffy, and I'm still spitting up white phlegm, but it's more of an annoyance now than anything else. Some people I've talked to think that it's post-nasal drip.
m allergic to Allegra-D, and Zyrtec makes me feel like a zombie. Hot water with lemon seems to help my throat, but it seems the condition just doesn't want to go away, no matter what I do.
Is there any medication that actually works reducing swelling, inflammation, etc..... All suggestions/experience appreciated.
Oh and allergist told me to take aspirin when my throat swells, but aspirin doesn't help either.
Well I have had Hashimoto for the past 10 years, and I also have had allergy problems and have taken Allegra D for the past 4 years. I don't think allegra had anything to do with my hashimoto/hypothyroid.
Benadryl is safe.

An hour after taking the medicine i felt the pressure in my head get really bad and i fell to my back. Things started to get darker and my body got very tingly. I thought I was going to have a seizure or asthma attack or just die on the spot. I was like this for about 15 seconds saying i needed an ambulance.
nasonex, afrin, mucinex-d, claritin, allegra, zyrtec, flonase, etc. Another ENT thought it was acid reflux. I tried: prilosec for 14 days, nexium for 3 days (I had too many side effects from nexium so I discontinued it). I had no symptoms of acid reflux so I felt there was no point to take these meds, but I tried anyway with no success.
I got a CT scan and they found there was a cyst in my left maxillary sinus and mucus thickening in the ethmoid on the same side.
I used to workout alot and exercise, well since this has happend im always fatigued and dont feel like doing things, and this really sucks because i like to be active and i havent been for a long time now and i need to breathe out of my nose!!!! My doctor actually told me that allegra was fine to take as long as its the regular kind not allerga D. But I didn't take it all of the time... N my baby is perfectly healthy, benadryl is good to take too.U should ask ur doctor n see what ur comfortable taking Bcus everyone is different.
Hi, I have a six year old boy and an 8 year old. Oh, the joys of a cold. You are absolutely right------ things can turn into a secondary infection (sinus infection) after a cold. I always do double the fluid intake with my kids as that keeps the mucus thinned out. there is an over the counter med called mucinex. Our doctor (and now me as well) swears by this, It is an expectorant which means that it also keeps the mucus moving.
