Does anyone know what to take for an alternative to Aggrenox? I had a TIA almost 4 years ago and was put on Aggrenox, well, my husband will be losing his job in a week due to the economy which also means we will be losing our health insurance as well. I asked my doctor if he could take me off it and put me on something else and all he said was he would prefer I stayed on Aggrenox. I don't think we can afford it because it is $305 for a month supply!
Aggrenox does have aspirin in it. It is recommended for strokes, as you already know. I'm not sure why the Dr has taken away the Aggrenox. Maybe he feels that taking aspirin is equivalent with less side effects? Aspirin does work well to help prevent stokes and heart attacks. So, there was no reason given for the change?
I was put on Aggrenox/Aspirin after my stroke about 2 months ago. Does anyone on the same treatment take any kind of Vitamins/Herbs with this medication?
I've found that Aggrenox seems to work without side effects. It's primarily baby aspirin, but also contains a drug that prevents platelets from sticking together. I've taken it twice a day since my stroke, and it appears to work, but who ever knows?
IVF, but it's just as expensive as a tubal reversal, if it doesn't work you have to continue doing it until one sticks with you! You are better off with a reversal, you can try on your own, unlimited tries. It is expensive, either way. And you aren't guarenteed to get pregnant after a tubal reversal (not that even without a tubal reversal you're guarenteed). I have a girl I worked with that got her tubes reversed 2 years ago and is still not pregnant.
A tubal reversal or IVF would have to be done. I had a reversal in Jan & we are trying just finished first cycle of Clomid to help with regular ovulation. You should find a fertility doctor and discuss it all with him. He can tell you which option would be better for you depending on the tubal you had done. Hope this helps!!!
My husband had a vasectomy almost five years ago and the 2 urologists we saw suggested IVF with ICSI rather than a reversal. The reversal can cost as much as the IVF procedure. We decided to try IVF with ICSI rather than the reversal, however, if I had the choice again, I would chose the reversal first. to Mayo and with all saying the same its still not sinking into this head... there is no fix... He has been sent home on a blood thinner (aggrenox) as to not thin the blood to much... With a healthy heart pumping against a 20% opening (when last tested)... So at night he is on oxgen to slow down the heart at night, for the heart pumps harder as ones breathing slows as we sleep... We live 30 mins from the closest hospital which isn't set up to handle this so life fight is another step...
I take 16 or 17 medications including the all inclusive plavix. a 3.25 aspiriin. AGGRENOX,Zocor,and a host of others.I watch my diet and exercise until it hurts to prove to my Dr. that I'm not just lying around. With your "scientific ' MINDS can you help?
i was just wondering how old u r and how long after reversal did u find out u were pregnant and who did yr reversal i had my reversal on the 20th april i had my 1st period on the 24th ovulated on the 24 cth and now counting down toi do preg test im feeling nauses but asuming it is stress and excitment im due for my next period on the 22 may hoping for the best im now 7 days b4 my due period and having a little cramping on right side
I'm not sure about the cost of reversal, but there's also IVF...although it will probably cost about $10,000 and up, depending on the meds. Hopefully someone else on here can give you more info on reversal. Best of luck with everything!
I had a vasectomy 6 years ago, and 4 months ago had a vasectomy reversal. The consultant was very hopeful after the operation, even though he could only join one of the tubes. I had a sperm analysis at 6 weeks and 10 weeks after my reversal operation, and both tests came back negative. My partner and I are very unhappy, and don't know what to do next.
You would need to get a vasectomy reversal. My husband and I have a baby girl after I had a tubal reversal. Good luck!
I was in the same boat and you have two options...reversal or IVF. We did IVF bc I have no fertility issues and it has a higher % rate of pregnancy..ESP bc you're young...than the reversal. I believe it is quite a bit more expensive though. All in all it's around $17,000.00 for procedure & meds without INS. Our INS didn't pay a dime but we are pregnant w twins and know it was all worth it.
Anything is possible, but not very probable. Look into tubal reversal if you truly want to get pg again. I had a reversal and have a baby now. Although I had a tubal where they cut and burned the tubes, with the clamps they will have to cut off the damaged part and reconnect them also.
