Adapalene topical

Common Questions and Answers about Adapalene topical

differin

Avatar m tn The best way to treat this is with a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline to kill acne-causing bacteria. In addition use a topical retinoid cream called Differin (adapalene) which is very good at clearing up the redness and soreness. Use a bland, soap-free cleanser to minimise irritation. I recommend Effaclar or Physiological Cleansing Gel by La Roche-Posay. Find a more sympathetic doctor. If untreated, acne can cause physical and psychological scars.
Avatar m tn This is a topical retinoid which contains Adapalene 0.1%. It works deep into your pores and is effective at clearing both acne and blackheads. Eloise.
Avatar n tn I have tried all sorts of exfoliating techniques and topical treatments (AHA, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, lactic acids, etc…) and nothing ever gets rid of the bumps. By the way, the bumps do not disappear temporarily and come back, they never go away (the same bumps are in the same location all the time). What do you think is causing these bumps? What are these bumps? How do I get rid of them?
1162528 tn?1262809565 Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities. Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines. Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients.
Avatar f tn Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin. For scars, topical treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color.
Avatar n tn The dermatologist gave me Differin Gel, and topical antibiotic cream called Benzclin, and neither of these helped. The doctor at first thought that it was Cellulitis, and put me on Bacitricin, and then Cephalexin, and neither of those helped. The hard crusty skin seems to grow underneath my cheek, and it stays there for weeks until I can't stand the pain and itching anymore? The crusty skin seems to be super glued into my cheek.
Avatar n tn Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case. Also get the diagnosis of keratosis pilaris ruled out although it is less likely from the symptoms that you have mentioned.

Avatar m tn I use an oil free non comedogenic foundation, every morning and night I've been taking Doxycycline for somewhere around 6 months now. I've also been using a topical Adapalene 0.1% Cream for about the same amount of time. I've noticed no improvement in my acne. Keeps appearing everywhere, and I've moved to having to add the Adapalene cream on my arms as well. I've only noticed an improvement on my arms. And now I have this boil on my chin. Great.

Avatar m tn I spoke with a dermatologist about it and i left with a prescription for adapalene. After a month of application on my nose, the problem has not improved. I am having a difficult time understanding how the product could be working. Is there another product that i should be using with the adapalene gel? Is there something else that i could be using? I have noticed over the years that my personal hygene products have caused my hair loss.
Avatar m tn preparations containing benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin, adapalene etc. are what work best for me. Your eating habits should not have a direct effect on acne, since acne is caused by bacteria and hormonal fluctuations affect it. Yes, some foods MAY trigger an attack in some people, but I'm yet to see this in my case. Sometimes our skin gets used to certain topical medicines. If that's the case, the doctor will change it for you or combine it with other meds.
Avatar n tn Hi. See your doctor for a topical retinoid called Differin (adapalene 0.1%). This is very good at dealing with blackheads and acne. Do not try to remove the blackheads by squeezing as this can spread bacteria under the skin causing more breakouts. It can also delay healing and lead to secondary infection. A good face wash for oily skin is Estee Lauder's Sparkling Clean. Washing alone will not heal acne or blackheads so do ask your doctor about Differin.
Avatar m tn Hello, There is currently no known cure for keratosis pilaris, however, there are effective treatments available which make its symptoms less apparent. Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Now his doctor has him on topical accutane and another topical application. He is having severe flare ups and when he applies the accutane it burns. He's fed up with this. Any thoughts? i will call his doctor, of course, but am wondering if you have any ideas.
Avatar m tn I applied once or twice a day. It is a topical steroid. It helped. After two weeks i returned to Dr and since it was still slightly there i was given a prescription for Ketoconazole (oral). I only took 4 pills (1 a day) total and fungal infection was gone. Two days latter i tested negative for HIV using a rapid finger stick antibody test. This was three months post exposure(fingering with nick and unprotected receipt of oral). My new girlfriend also tested negative.
1840891 tn?1431547793 I would love to hear from anyone who can offer some info such as how most hepatologists feel about the use of this gel (or any other topical NSAID) in cirrhotics. I just have this lingering doubt that my hepatologist tends to be a little bit too relaxed about some things – it does seem to take quite a lot to actually alarm him. Thanks!
