I am 3 years post breast cancer i had lumpectomy chemo rads i have taken tamoxofen for 2,5 years now on aromasil i had a bone density scan and was told i had low calcuim levels, now on calcuim sandox and actonel asked if i had osetoprosis and was told no have read around actonel and have not taken it yet as of the side effects please can you advice thanks.

I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.

First of all, I'm not an expert. That said, everything I've read indicates that long term testosterone replacement does shut down natural production which eventually leads to your balls getting smaller (testicular atrophy). Some reports suggest that if you discontinue t-replacement therapy there may be a way to stimulate natural production although not to the level it was prior. Chronic use may prevent that from happening.

I have had very little problems with Prolia. I've done 4 injections over the past 2 years. Just a little bit of bone pain for the first 2 wks after the injection then, it goes away. That said, unfortunately, for me, my DEXA did not improve and my osteoporosis in my spine (the T-score) did not get better. Now, my doctor is sending me to a 'bone' clinic that apparently specializes in bone disorders such as osteoporosis.

You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.

t believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me. I am taking Paxil and for the last 10 years I was taking Actonel, until my doctor suggested I stop because of medical reports showing after long use, it stops working. I know the 2 problems are not linked, but still remain a concern. Is there a medication to stop me from my late night binges. This is when I eat the most. It seems there would be an appetite supressant that would be helpful.

Suzanne, Happy Birthday! I too often wonder how I got old so fast.lol Time flies I guess. I will check out that website. The drs won't let me take things like actonel or that class of drugs as my osteoporosis affected the bones in my jaw and they are afraid to take the chance as with those drugs there is a risk. I was disappointmented about the forteo. I think that drug is more dangerous than its worth personally. Are you still working as an RN?

it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. I can eat so of course I am swallowing. I'm off all drug right now but throat/phlegm sensations feel settled in, especailly bad at night, and are anxiety provoking.

m 40 years old and recently found out that I also have osteo penia in one of the vertabrae in my lower back and my doctor wants me to take Actonel...however, those bone density medications can really exacerbate the reflux problems.

Thank you for the response. I think I have had about every GI test done. Who checks hormonal endocrine imbalances. Metabolic issues, etc? I have had 4 thyroid nodule biopsies done now. I do have severe Osteoporosis and a new Internist I am going to has ordered a new bone density test. I have been having bad neck, low back and hip pain. I don't think my Endo doctor has been following up on that like she should but I won't take Actonel or Fosomax.

Has anyone had physical therapy and water therapy at the end of their pregnancy tp help with severe back pain?

When an object was within a certain distance from my face, my eyes wouldn't work together to keep the object in focus. Yesterday I went to my evaluation and first physical therapy session. The individual conducting the session and evaluation obviously has worked with many MS clients. She knew all about the drugs I am taking and asked pertinent question about any pain I might be experiencing.

went to therapy - alot came out about mymom death when I was young. I just wasn't sure about how much I have repressed. MY WHOLE LIFE IS REPRESSED. I journaled this morning and it came to mind with a major cry fit..that as a child, I did everything I could-for 5 long years up to the age of 14 to make it all ok. But then she died. It just hit me this late in life that I couldn't fix that or protect it in anyway. Has anyone ever been in this type of a position?

How is it that therapy is suppose to help you deal with why you used when all therapy does is make me want to use? I have been able to numb all my emotional feelings through opiates, even though my pills were used and prescribed for all my surgeries, it was my outlet, as sick as this sounds, hearing the words another surgery was like a free pass to opiates. Then of course it lead to my opiate abuse.

I'm not sure when it will start but I am eventually going to have to go to therapy for my Anxiety and Depression. I've never gone to therapy before. What is it like? The thought scares me a little. I would appreciate any input.

yes,i have had physical therapy and it help me alot.only one time i felt worst.tell your therapy ,that you are hurting worst.he must be working you to hard.my dr.really wanted me to do auqa therapy,but we didn't have any near my home.and i also did therapy at home he gave me a list of things to do.if you haven't yet have your vitamin d checked .mine was low and when it was low i couln't even walk!
