I am 3 years post breast cancer i had lumpectomy chemo rads i have taken tamoxofen for 2,5 years now on aromasil i had a bone density scan and was told i had low calcuim levels, now on calcuim sandox and actonel asked if i had osetoprosis and was told no have read around actonel and have not taken it yet as of the side effects please can you advice thanks.

I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. What comes next? Looks like a lot of stuff in the pipeline. Any magic bullets on the horizon? I would consider waiting if my liver doesn't get worse.

You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.

Hi, I have been reading this (and other) forums and I could not figure out one issue. I'd like to be tested for HIV, but I am waiting the window period. Most experts say that modern HIV tests are much more sensitive than the previous ones, that is why the window period would be shorter nowadays. However, oraquick (only as a example) is perhaps one the most common test in US (free cost - I don't have health insurance). But as far as I know it is only 2nd generation.
