i currnetly am taking actonel for my bones the past 3 years and klonopin i per night and take alot of vitamins such as B compex etc. no alcohol consumption but i do smoke half a pack of cigarettes per day no other medical conditions known 6 months ago all my blood workups were normal . ANY IDEAS WHAT CAN BE GOING ON WITH ME ?

One may develop some kind of intestinal problems with Actonel and the alternative to that is to not to take drug empty stomach, that is to take it after a meal. Please let us know if you may have nay other queries and what your doctor says. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I suffered some of the side effects, fever, and severe bone pain to the point of not being able to take in a full breath. My doctor was so concerned he put me on a steroid dose pack to reduce the reaction. My body doesn't seem very tolerant of any drugs, couldn't take anything other than extra strength Tylenol for a foot surgery. I will have to figure out something else with an endocronologist?

i have a.i.h. auto immune hepatitis,i came up positive for cocaine on a random drug screen,i work for the railroad,my primary doctor suggested to get a hair follicle test it came back negative,somehow both urine test and hair screen done at same lab,but railroad fired me anyway.railroad would not accept hair follicle,f.r.a. and d.o.t. don,t reconize hair screen,i don't do drugs!

I am very lucky to live part of the year in Panama, so I have access to American, European, and Asian medications. I take Eutirox (same as Euthyrox by Merck) 50mcg/25mcg - I alternate days - which seems to be my "sweet spot".

I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.

I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?

I have IBS> I started to take fosamax once a week (for osteo). did so for 4 weeks. it seemed to bother my esophagus (bumping, reflux) so my doctor suggested actonel. i took one pill a week ago and since have had increasing sensation of a lump in my throat, and like I'm full of phlegm that I can't ever swallow down. I can eat so of course I am swallowing. I'm off all drug right now but throat/phlegm sensations feel settled in, especailly bad at night, and are anxiety provoking.

Boy, been down this road. ENT docs all had me on Nexium on and off. Was told to stay on it. After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone.

this is almost a year later... are you still not taking any prescription drug for your osteoporosis? Am interested to know what/why your doctor is recommending for your treatment now... I'm 62 Fem. with T score -3.5. My doctor is putting me on Actonel but I am reluctant to start. Side effects are very worrisome... not sure what to do. I have started mega doses of supplements and calcium and D and excercise and I want someone to tell me that that has worked for them.

The only way to know if it is viral or you need an antibiotic is for the doctor to run some blood tests to see if your body is fighting off any illnesses. But also if you are on osteoporosis medications currently, the medication you are taking could be causing your symptoms.

I think you are talking about several different things, There are different treats for osteoporosis one of the more popular and common are bisphosphonates. They are given generally prescribed orally and include Fosamax, Actonel and Boniva. They can cause some severe stomach distress as they did for my father. When this happens there are injectable forms of bisphosphonates.

Are you on cytomel ONLY? What are your thyroid levels - FT4, FT3 and TSH? Do you have Hashimoto's? 50 mcg cytomel seems like a lot - and I would most likely split it into at least 2 doses, but that would depend on your labs. I wonder why she didn't give you any T4 med. cytomel is a T3 only med which is about 4 times more potent than T4 and is taken into the system quickly and is gone quickly, whereas the T4 med builds gradually.
