Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.
Avatar f tn So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?

Avatar f tn A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T4 and Free T3 levels as needed to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH. However, you may well need to address your low cortisol before even starting on thyroid med. I would suggest that you get tested for Both Free T4 and Free T3 each time you go in for tests. Also, you should get tested for Vitamin D, B12, ferritin, and DHEA.
Avatar f tn She started out with Fosamax, and after awhile when side effects start from that one, and Actonel was available, they put her on Actonel and she was on Actonel all the way up until it was stopped at 79. So, I have that in my mind (her being mom and my genes and all), and decided that I want to put off bone drugs as long as I can. If I can reverse this w/o them, than I'm going to.
Avatar n tn Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta, celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar n tn I am just tired of taking medicenes that seem to cause other problems. I think I have the GERD from taking Actonel even though I followed the instructions to the letter for taking the Actonel. No longer take it. Just take calcium.
Avatar m tn i do forsee such trials coming in the near future. we are already involved in one such trial using GS-7977 and ribavirin w/o interferon in selected child's A cirrhotic patients on the liver transplant waiting list with HCC.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
789911 tn?1368636783 I went to my doc today and was told about a Boceprevir trial coming up in Dec. Said it was basically the same thing as the Teleprevir, Just who is going to win the race. Are these the main promising PI that everyone is waiting for. I was a 0-1 on a fibrosure test and genotype 1A. was told when they do hit the market its going to be very expensive even with insurance i would have to pay 20% which would still be a lot. Im not complaining I am greatful that I have insurance right now.
980756 tn?1313445908 i feel ya...same here. i spent almost a year on the trial merry go round, but the last one, well i used them. i tried to get into the GlobeImmune GI-5005 trial. i knew i wasn't going to get in, but i got the IL-28 B DNA test done for free. it's a sweet way to get the test done on their dime. http://216.92.62.193/index.php?load=content&page_id=3 score one for the HepCats....
1227909 tn?1267853479 did anyone or anyone you know do the suboxone program while on the teleprivir trial? i figure its a long shot, but i'm hoping at least someone has. i would like to know how it was taking teleprivir while on suboxone....
Avatar f tn Is it normal to have several hypothyroid symptoms with extensive family history of it (hashimotos) and has tsh of 1.01 free t4 .9 and free t3 of 2.9. My tsh over the past frew years has contnuously decreased from 3.4 to now 1.0. It seems like if my thyroid hormones are a little low my tsh should increase.
Avatar m tn HCVerso 1 This Phase 3 study will enroll treatment-naive patients infected with HCV GT-1b. Patients will be randomized (1:1) into two treatment arms. A third, open-label arm will enroll cirrhotic patients.
Avatar n tn Even if you were tested negative, it would be important to give a trial of a gluten free diet (it is common to get false negative results) for at least 1 month to see if it helps. Have you been checked for sleep apnoea?
463897 tn?1468013750 How much more likely would you be to take a new medication, as prescribed by your doctor, if you received a free trial of the medication delivered to your home?
Avatar m tn Most trial exclude post-transplant patients. The only trial that would be conducted would be through transplant centers Have you spoken to your transplant center? They would know about any clinical trials that they will be conducting that you would qualify for. You will need to be under the care of a transplant center if you should make any changes to the drugs you are taking.
Avatar f tn Again, I'm wondering if you're getting paid to push medication. No offense intended, but why are you interested in ways to get us to take more drugs? As for free samples, usually these are only available for newer drugs still on patent, meaning the most expensive drugs to take and the ones with the least information available of how they work in the long-term and what long-term adverse effects they will have. Nobody's giving free samples of old generics out.
720656 tn?1311040235 You might want to ask your pharmacist for more specific directions as far as the timing of your meds. I take Actonel once a month and my pharmacist said it was fine to take it at the same time as my levothyroxine since Actonel is also supposed to be taking first thing in the morning. Don't mix meds unless you get an all clear from a pharmacist.
Avatar m tn Below is part of an email from my trial nurse, any of you fellow trial folks been in it? Maybe i spaced this but i don't remember hearing of this part. ----------------- I believe you have the choice to start the 5063 study, which is a long term study to keep track of your blood tests. We can discuss the study the next time I see you.
